Way to go Ginger Smith... i knew the guy always had the speed, but he needs to show that he is also a consistent rider. Too bad Julian Rider fell.... would of been interesting to see him chase down Smith and see what that little Ginger has in him.

And when will you guys give Aoyoma his due respect. The guy belongs in MotoGP, not just because he is Japanese, but because the guy has what it takes.

I've not heard anything other than general admiration for Hiro, he seems quite liked. But even as a fan you must be able to appreciate he was pretty mediocre last season? It's great to see him back though

I can't believe it - the first time in ages I've missed a 125 race, and Bradley only goes and wins the bloody thing.

Glad I caught the 250's though, which more than made up for a crappy MotoGP race.

Great 250 race. I thought Honda stop developing there 250?? Aoyama put in a good ride and now leading the standings.

Why isn't Aoyama the token Japanese rider in MotoGP? At least he has some wins in the lower classes.

I said this in other thread Aoyama and Takahashi should swap seats.....

topic moved to motogp chat since 125cc/250cc are part of motogp

So does Takahashi. Their careers have been almost completely parallel, and before Yuki got injured he looked quicker. I think if Hiro had stayed with HRC and not gone to KTM you'd see him in GP this year.

Seeing brad take that win has made my day, it has been such a long time coming and i hope this sets the ball rolling for a championship challenge. When he broke early i thought to myself that Simon might bin it trying to catch him at home, but i didn't really believe it. Iannone payed for the wild riding we've seen from him all year. How about Folger? Surely he's gonna be huge.......

What is it about Jerez that produces classic 250cc races almost without fail? It's unbelievable. Moto2 will struggle to match the viewing pleasure of a race like that. Simoncelli looked like he was doing all he could to mix it up, but unfortunately has made no ground on Bautista or Aoyama. Hiro was brilliant today, and it's great to see what the Honda can still do in the right hands. Barbera never really looked like he could mix it up, but at least he kept cool and stayed on it, solid job. Did anybody see that Luthi has snuck himself into 4th in the standings without seemingly doing anything, i was surprised.
Good post - agree. Although I would point out that the 250 Honda wasn't exactly in the wrong hands when Dovi was at the helm. If you this was a subtle reference to the Japanese connection, then yes I agree.

Luthi never seemed to fulfill his huge potential after winning the 125 championship. Is he still mentored by andy Ibbot?

What did he do? Craning his neck to see out of the commentary box window, stick too much lean angle on his swivel seat?
<

I hear during this race, Toby Moody also saved a tray of coffee's from a nasty highside.

125
Great going Smith, good to see him not crash out or have the rain spoil his win. He rode a smart race. Simon was pushing way too hard to try and catch him, too bad he went down at his home race. Iannone, what was the guy thinking, pushing way too hard on cold tires. Folger had the ride of the race, until he messed up getting too greedy.

250
A classic race. Exciting race down to the end. Outstanding job by Aoyama (no development my ..., Spaulding also thinks they are developing for one last win in 250s). Bautista almost had it but messed up that last corner. Simoncelli must have been suffering in some way, tires?

Bautista couldn't do anything in that last corner. He went in too high and could never keep momentum like Aoyama could.

How many times have we seen a race or position change come down to the last corner at Jerez on the last lap. You would think that guys would have it practiced and down exactly what to do when coming into that corner. Then again, in the heat of battle I'm sure these guys are doing everything they can just to hang on.

I think it takes a very smart rider to know what kind of trajectory he needs to take in the last corner depending on the situation of the other riders, I've seen Rossi do that, but not many others. Bautista just took the normal quickest trajectory when he should've taken a more closed trajectory closing the inside. But it's easy to say that here, not so much to do it in a race when you have battled in 44 ovetaking manouvers for the lead infront of 100K compatriots cheering for you. That was brilliant race.

Ángel Rodriguez (current Spanish SS champion) will ride Talmacsi's bike this weekend.

Tomorrow Aspar team will explain their point of view on the issue. Looks definitive though

Lots of crashers in 125s... Terol drops it from the lead. Looks like a very slick. Olivier looses the back and Marquez plows into him - were running 2/3... Terol & Marqez running 14/15 now.
