Sorry man, having been there sitting on the banks neither of us were really in a position to do an in-depth tyre analysis. Cheers for the update though.

Ouch, it's not certain at all if Mika will be in condition to race next GP. He's had some real bad luck lately! First the broken clutch, then a dud rear tyre and now brake failure followed by a nasty crash in tests...

I think that's just too much bad luck for one guy.

As wander said his chances of racing next week are not as good as initial news reports.

Crash happened because the brakes failed. Top speed down straight at Brno. Back brake didn't help much. Bike flew over barriers and wrecked. Right leg injured. "Worst crash of his career".

Here's to a hopefully great career for the rookie.

Bradley who?

Another bit of news from the recent Brno test is that Simoncelli has been riding the Aprilia RSA 250 and has been told he can chose whether to continue with his current LE equipment of finish the season on the factory kit. This could be significant for the championship.

Sounds very interesting! I want to see if this really happens and if it'll make him faster.

Me too, he may chose to stay with the familiar machine, especially as his main contender is on a KTM. However Bautista isn't out of it, and considering they are equally fast with the current arangement it'd be interesting to see what they would do with eqaul equipment.

Very interesing news.
He is IMHO allready in a class of his own. A true fighter and great character and I look forward to see him in motoGP.

Let's see how he does in this wet race :)

Wow!!

125cc race was one of the less thrilling of the year but still good stuff all in all. I think all of the top 4 put in solid and impressive rides ahead of the summer break. Di Meglio has impressed me even more than in the past, this guy looks like he has a champions head on with speed to match. Bradl was cool in front of the expecting crowd to get a career best, while Talma gets another podium and is now just 27 points behind Corsi, who i was disappointed by (maybe a problem???).

250cc was dominated by Simoncelli, great riding and the championship lead to boost. Bautista entertained us with his fightback, but why the hell was he out the points in the first place. For me there are still question marks with Alvaros riding. Barbera raced the best race i can remember since his one and only 250cc win, he was steady and calculated without making the usual mistakes and lunges. Kallio had a mediocre day but considering his injuries and the conditions he did a good damage limitation ride.

Can't wait for Brno......

haha, I wish we'd get Rossi commentary too... But luckily our (finnish) commentators are actually quite decent. A lot better than the idiots we have in F1.

Rossi's commentating was his hilarious

Dissapointing for Bradley again.. he needs to be a little more agressive still I feel, he looks in control and dominant and thwen suddenly loses out on the last few laps. Brilliant ride by Di Meglio.

250.. Simoncelli was fantastic, good ride by Barbera, I stil have questions over Bautista... he does give us entertainment though, haha.

I don't agree, Brad was very aggressive and had his elbows out when he needed them, even against Talmacsi. Overall i thought a solid ride going into the summer. Do you read Brad's collumn on crash.net? It's pretty good and Brad explains that the weather messed with his head, understandable after Assen

It's great to have the 125 and 250cc bikes back from the break!! Laguna Seca did well to fill in the gap but i can really get excited again now we have a full gp event.

Also did anyone else notice that Poggiali doesn't seem to have seem to have returned after mysteriously not riding in Germany.

Correction, the Pog is back but technically did not qualify today.

well the 125 & 800 qualifying sessions were a bit of a snooze but the 250 quali was brilliant! simoncelli & barbera goin back & forth the whole session was quite entertaining & simoncellis semi save was something!

Damn, Kallio apparently had an electric failure near the end of the quali. Too bad, but he still has a decent enough grid position.

Simoncelli was in a class of his own though. He seems to be nearly unbeatable on the dry with the new bike.

well the 125s & espeacially the 250s didn't dissapoint. that last lap in the 250s was brilliant! good to see a new winner in the 125s with bradl. good stuff!

125 race was alright today. Bradl was fast, mature and excellent overall. DiMeglio seems to keep getting stronger while Corsi is doing the opposite, he needs to turn it round pretty soon. Smith was a little average today, but solid points are better than crashes.

250 was brilliant!! Deban rode really well and I think justified his place in the team and class. YOu wouldn't have thought before Qatar he would be performing as well as Bautista. Kallio needs to start getting some solid podiums soon because Marco is consistently fast.

^Kallio has been struggling after Donington. The KTM simply doesn't seem to have what it takes to challenge the Aprilia's right now. He said that he drove with all he had through the race and braked as late as possible in every corner, but it wasn't quite enough to compensate the time lost in the straights.

Debon drove extremely well, good job. He and Bautista could even sneak themselves to the battle for the title, if they keep this up for the rest of the season. Kallio and KTM obviously need to find a solution to reach these Aprilia riders again or he won't even finish 2nd.
