Anybody know what this "problem" is with Poggiali that has caused him to "retire"?
He used to be my favourite rider before he disappeared.

Sito Pons is back in GPs, next season he will have a team in 250cc (Jack & Jones) with a factory Aprilia and Héctor Barberá as rider.

1. Where do you guys get the 125 and 20 gossip from? i want in

2. Sito already has a role in the Jack and Jones 125cc team

3. Do you think its realistic that the Team Toth Aprilia ride will be taken by Talmacsi?

4. What do you guys make of Barbera? Will he ever be a serious title contender?

1. Spanish & Italian sport sites mostly (www.motociclismo.es, www.marca.com, www.as.com, www.gazzetta.it ...)

2. True, but he's some kind of advisor, now he'll be the team boss in 250cc.

3. IIRC Talmacsi signed a 2 year deal with Aspar which saw him in 125cc in 2008 and in 250cc with an official Aprilia in 2009. Talma has nothing to worry about, with the addition of the Hungarian race (mostly because of him) he's been guaranteed a good bike even if Ezpeleta has to buy it himself.

4. Well I think he's a good rider, but doesn't seem to have much consistency, which is the key to a title. Of course it seems each year he gets a little better and his not that far now so, a 250cc title is a disitinct possibility.

tom i just cruise all the online moto publications as well as motogp.com. i cant remember were i read about pons's return but i think it was either roadracing world or motogp.com.
as teo said talmacsi is gonna do just fine.
as far as hector barbera is concerned i think he's an excellent racer & very entertaining to watch. his consistency needs improving & he also needs to work on his racecraft. sometimes he seems to not learn from mistakes as well as making poor decisions.

I agree he is too erratic, but his speed is undeniable! Based on the flashes of brilliance he shows, I think hes the type of rider who one day could just click in, and be a champion. It probably wont ever happen but for now at least he does enough to keep himself on factory bikes, he needs a win soon though.

yep! think about simoncelli for a moment... he was suckin eggs in the 250s for a good while then it was like someone thru a switch! look at him now!!! barbera i think has the same potential.

I was thinking along the same lines, its a little different because Barbera isn't a crasher and hes already a front runner but that makes me think he is more likely to make it one day.

Not looking good for Kallio now unless Barbara manages to take simoncelli out a couple of times...

Yay he did it himself

great 250 race! that barbera knows how to thrw wrenchs into the machinery!

pasini was fuming , i thought he was going to burst into tears at one point
<
. overall not a happy chappy, i didnt rate barbera's riding today at all.. besides that anyone with a polka dot colour scheme definetly doesnt deserve to win ...

He used to be my favourite rider before he disappeared.

He mentions a mysterious physical illness, i'd say its probably more a mental problem with him, this season he just hasn't got up to speed and that last crash he had basically shook him.

He is still only 25 and i guess we have to respect his brave decision to retire, he didn't do bad in his short career of 2 WC's did he.

125

Today Talmacsi just blew everyone away, great for Smith to keep up with him and net a well deserved 2nd place, I was rooting for Redding who was running in the chasing pack before lobbing the bike.

250

By far the most entertaining and exciting race today, full of drama, Kallio taking out his teamate Aoyama, Barbera and his antics, Pasini was pretty awesome clawing his way in to the lead before that nasty high speed shunt. ( would have loved to have seen a different camera angle on that one). Bautista road like a champ, Dimelagio lost out on points to Corsi who had a great little battle with Olive to the finish, Simoncelli should have really tried to breakaway earlier on instead of getting in a spat with Barbera. Takahashi had a well deserved podium on that heap of junk, and nice to see Locatelli net 4th.

125cc: Talmacsi did everything right, good win and a good boost for him in the championship, hes only 9 points behind Corsi now. Smith also had an excellent ride and is within range of being 4th overall, more podiums this season would be great. Corsi was really impressive after having a run of avergage results. He rattled Di Meglio by showing him a wheel all the time, and Mike got into a race he didn't need to be in resulting in a crash. From that point Simone rode a calm and measured race to get the most points he could. More races like this could get him right back in contention.

250cc: Best race of the day by far, total thriller. Bautista was brilliant, he made his way through cleanly, and got clear of the danger of battling, maybe he's not out of it just yet. I was gutted for Pasini because he was looking very strong, glad he's okay though because that crash was FAST. Takahashi was amazing and made best use of a track which favoured his bike, top quality rider. Despite the controversy surrounding him, Barbera has had a couple of podiums and a good run of form recently, a win might come soon. Simoncelli was foolish to let himself get frustrated by Hector and ended up crashing in his own red mist, fortunately he was able to get back on and score points. kallio made a stupid error, took his team mate down and now sits a whole race win behind on points, poor show.

Great news that Bautista is confirmed to stay in 250 next year, Marco vs Alvaro all year will be great watching.

I don't get what happened in the Kallio-Aoyama situation. It didn't look like Kallio was going too fast to the corner or anything, but suddenly he hit him. He was confused himself.

According to a KTM press release the data showed both riders were riding the corner at their usual speeds and it just so happened that Mikka was 5 Km/h faster in that turn. Kallios mistake, poor show.
