<{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>Oh their resources are not limitless? Uhm, this reminds me of another debate. (Interesting how you made the case that this would not disrupt the flow of supply in the case when we debated the tire issue).
If you don't see the difference between increasing the work load 100% and increasing it about 10% witch is the case regarding the tires then I'm affraid you are beyond help. But when I think about it I guess it's not a surprice as non of you who are so upset about the tire deal gave no recognition to the fact that it was not a full team switching tires, but only one rider. A 2 rider team would require twice as many additional tires, another 100% that you ignored. but then again whats the big deal, it's just about adding a zero, and that isn't much.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE <div class='quotemain'>If they had to choose between one or the other, then yes, Rossi is the preferred (as he is in everything). But I don't think this is the case. I think they have a factory team with two #1s. Yamaha is smart enough to know they have a shot at coming 1-2 in the standings (unlike Honda who think the way to get a #1 is to sacrifice the #2). The #2s for Yamaha are called Tech 3. This may be difficult for you to understand, but what I'm talking about is the abstract concept of approaching the challenge of racing. I'm saying Yamaha's approach is to realize that they have two great talented riders, and have enough resources to give them both the best possible shot without having to diminish the possibilities of the other to make one emerge.
Good pint, allthough I feel most teams have this approach. At the same time the team have to decide who too trust when they get conflicting information from the riders, but in this case as they have different tires they might have to listen to both and change the bikes accordingly. Problem is that Yamaha has a history of listening to too many or to the wrong people. Until Rossi came abourd they had a good bike that was unridable. So my guess is that if lunatic have problems adopting to the bike he is going to have a hard time convincing Yamaha he need something completly different.
