Why the hate on Casey?

I think Stoner has other, "slighlty more important", things to think about at the moment to even give a flying ...... about Twiddles about Rossi or what hs techo's said ..... blah blah blah ........ and good luck to Adriana I say, hope it all goes well.

Only problem is that if you compare the first 5 years of rossi's and pedrosa's career dani comes out better

.

Many odd things about this. For me the oddest is HRC (that's right HONDA) bigging up a rider, and using statistics mostly drawn from years he didn't ride for them. However many people hate stoner, it would appear that honda, at least, love him, and are not too concerned about bike sales in Italy.

Second oddest is that rossi felt the need to immediately reply on twitter. All jokes aside, rossi's record needs no defence from anyone, including him. I have to say I think it is unwise for him to buy into discussions of his status, especially his goatness, particularly while still riding.

Rossi replied because he has all the symptoms of classic narcissistic personality disorder.

The 9 tell tale characteristics of narcissism.....

  1. []An exaggerated or grandiose sense of self importance.

[]A preoccupation with fantasies of extraordinary success, power, beauty or love.

[]A belief that he/she is special and unique

    []An intense need for admiration.

    []A delusional sense of entitlement.

[]A tendency to exploit others without guilt and remorse.

[]An absence of meaningful empathy for others.

    []A tendency to be envious

    []An arrogant attitude.

That just about sums up Rossi in a nutshell.

I remember seeing an interview on TV in 2007.... an Australian female reporter asked Vale the following question at the PI 2007 round after talking about himself for the entire interview.....

So what do you think of Casey Stoner being the second youngest winner of a premiere class world title at 21 years old? (He was crowned world champ at the previous Motegi round)

His response: "I had won three world titles by that age".....which by the way was untrue as he won his 500cc title at age 22.

I lost much respect for him after that...... these days he is just a sad clown who rarely smiles.... to even respond to that tweet shows how much he is hurting and how much he values his place in the sport which also gives an insight as to why he and his fans are so pissed off by Stoners unarguably better stats....numbers dont lie (just ask NH).

Its interesting to see how quickly Rossi's stats changed pre and post 2006. Doohan's win rate stayed high till the end did it not?

In all fairness, in mick's era there was not one regulation change that I can remember, In Rossi's there has been many and Rossi kept winning past 5 world titles.

And in all fairness Post 2006 saw the introduction of the worst format with several key regulations known to the World Motorcycle racing community.

Thats my 2012 prediction.

Hehe...larf it up now Talps me ole sparring partner. Point 1 above perfectly demonstrated

And I have to mention that the people who started this were HRC, with a rather childish and just like you very narcissistic dig, and why Rossi? Why not compare Jorge? what are they scared or something? Rossi's just a mid-packer isn't he, why compare him with riding god Casey at all?

Psychoanalysing rossi via the internet is no more valid than psychoanalysing stoner, less so if anything.

Whether or not you think the 7 or 9 world championships refrain from his fans got old, Rossi is actually not delusional, he did win those championships, thereby making most of your numbered points irrelevant.

The point I was making is that questions (and answers) as to overall status in a sport are better left to others, particularly while still competing. His peer in a different sport, roger federer does not engage in such discussions; as I have said I see their situations as somewhat analogous, except that if rossi got back on a factory yamaha he would win races against lorenzo and stoner, but I can't see federer ever beating djokovic in the future for another grand slam win.

Comedy gold.............................

i think squiggle makes a valid point, many rossi fans jumped bandwagon when it became too obvious he was threatened by the new generation of riders .

another valid question for this board : why no love for jorge? fights like a gladiator, is great with fans ,does not behave like a ....... and is one of the fastest ever. and please i don't want to hear any of that fastest ........ that every rider that gets a logo is a copycat or whatever.

where is the hate thread where i can defend my guy against you bunch of crazy idiots

On the Jorge question, I'm a Lorenzo fan, and said during 2010 that had Rossi broken his leg or not, the title was Jorge's, it was his year, and he killed it. He's a hard guy to take to, a primadonna who appears to take himself very seriously, but there is something that I've always really admired about him. (And you wonder when we get pissed off when we get the crap that Rossi fans are only happy when he is winning?) Apart from his greetin about Sic, he's no been scared to get in an mix it up either. I'd have loved to hae seen him an Rossi stay at Yam together, they were a bloody formidable team. He just became a bit invisible last season with the injuries and Sic's death. Expect to see him kicking arse this year.

As for Rossi fans jumping ship, it always happens, you should hae seen the amount of Haydonettes that turned into die hard Stoner fans here in 2007! There was a serious amount o piss takin there fae both Rossi an proper Hayden fans. Rightly so. there was so much back pedalling going on, folk were falling off the backs of their chairs. I'm quite sure if Stoner loses the title this year his fanbase will dwindle on here.

I've follwed Rossi for a long time, and will happily call myself a Rossi fan when he retires, just as I still admire Doohan, MacKenzie an KrJr.

yeah, it would have been great to see those two batteling it out once again. it's a bit of a shame that they really only had 1 year to battle each other on equal equipment. if you think about it 2009 was a great time

I don't like Rossi, he seems plastic. He's resume and racecraft is awesome. Other than that, he's personality is nothing short of "hype" and "made of". Like Biaggi really. Yeah I can twist things now too. whoohooo.

Look dude, we all love Doohan, but lets stop pretending his title years of racing were not a Honda cup of two. (I would say four, but even the other Honda entries were no match). So lets stop using Doohan standard of a measuring stick.

every fooker complains about .... stirring on here

so Honda do it now.themselves..Didnt take stoner long to get his poision going.

Poison Dwarf..

UPDATE: HRC_MotoGP has now removed the stats from its Twitter feed, saying "Ok ok... will remove... wasn't belittling @ValeYellow46 achievements... just comparing! #dugdeepenoughnow"

2d0n9rq.jpg

For the record, I thought it was hilarious & ballsy, but equal parts childish of HRC to take a dig at Rossi. Lets not forget they did get divorced. What former spouse has not been vindictive and taken the opportunity to throw a dart when given the chance? However, I'd say both have a bit of egg on their face. Each while together had an opportunity to be the undisputed longest running success story of the modern GP era, yet personal pride got in the way of both parties. HRC stuck with Dani and the failure to secure a title should always be pointed out as a complete lapse in judgement. Now they want to piggy back on Stoner's accomplishments as if HRC was the genius behind it, when the truth is, had Stoner not made the move, they would have been stuck in the never ending cycle of futility with their ......... puppet master and the 'almost-good enough' propped up darling midget. While at least Rossi moved on to a few more titles at Yamaha, he made the fateful mistake of believing everything he read about himself and thought he could continue the good times at Ducati.

Another thing that is interesting to me, is that it seems the 'Rossi vs Stoner' story line has contaminated even the once moderately professional team media principals, who at very least it appeared to stayed out of much of the ........ between riders. When I read HRCs tweaker post, I thought it had been hacked by some neo-bopper. Maybe I'm not so far from the truth, as the updates to posting the stats sounded like the type of run-of-the-mill, socially-unsophisticated neo-bbopers found here on PS.
