WTF has happened to the Qatar coverage on the BBC? I just checked and they aren't even showing it, and Eurosport are not showing it live but will be showing it @ 10pm. If the BBC is only showing it on the red button then how the hell is that free to air as was originally muted by Dorna for the reason of giving them exclusive rights.

I thought part of the reason for a Qatar night race was so the race could be seen across Europe at roughly the usual afternoon time slot. I don't remember watching it live in the evening last year, but that was a while ago!

BBC get the exclusive rights to show MotoGP live and then for the first race of 2009 they are putting it on BBC3 at 8:45pm. So much for the BBC bringing it to the masses, unless the masses have Freeview or Sky, etc. They should have just left it on Eurosport.

For the sake of about one hour I think I'm going to skip the BBC's live coverage of this round and watch the recorded race on Eurosport with decent commentators.

Exactly. This is precisely what I said would happen, and was at pains to point out to some folks last year.

Regarding the race, we're going out for a swift pint or two after the strokers are done, and coming back to watch it on Eurosport an hour later. Actually, failing that, I have some decorating to do in the bathroom this weekend (can't tell it's a Bank Holiday there then), so I might even attack that for an hour. I would quite literally sooner watch paint dry than Parish and Cox sap the first race of the season of whatever little tension and drama still remains in this sport
