What colours will ROSSI race in then?

I like both bikes - both are far better than what I have in my garage.

Yes I do think you are right J4rno, the Ducati has Marlboro written all over it.

I guess if they are going to make the bike soft like a Honda or a Yamaha they may as well make it look gay as well.

If you knew nothing about MotoGP and you saw the 2 bikes and the 2 riders you would say that the guy and bike in yellow is the other ones ......

McDonalds has been using yellow on red for years.

I think Yellow and Red goes good together, However, I like Nicky's paint scheme better.

Oh, that makes it better.
<
Ok. brotha, I know McDs is fast food, but I'm not thinking that's what they had in mind when when they designed Rossi's paint scheme, hahahaha. But then again, McDs has managed to get everybody's attention, so maybe that's what Rossi was going for. Look at me.

We've come to accept and expect riders to have a distinctive number plate, but branding the bike as Rossi has done smacks of 'I'm bigger than the team, I'm bigger than the sport.' You don't have to read very far to see how Lorenzo's antics are summarily cast as lame copy cat. What I don't get is how these peeps have made the jump that copy catting something lame is lamer that the lame .... being copy catted. You follow me?

Sorry Jumkie, if painting my bike yellow and selling all sorts of yellow merchandise meant that I got to earn millions, I would.

It doesn't say Rossi is bigger than the team or the sport, it says that sport is business and Rossi is a businessman.

They had to re-brand the bike & leathers totally really, so that people wouldn't associate it with that loser that kept falling off. Nicky something...

Anything else you'd like to rationalize Woodsta?

Anyway, we can stick our heads in the sand all we want, but that bike doesn't say Ducati team, it screams ROSSI! Oh, and about the business thing, that's as lame as the guy who said, its better than whatever I have in my garage...uhm, no .... sherlock.

Ducati Confirms Major Changes To Desmosedici GP11

Submitted by David Emmett on Wed, 2011-01-12 22:33. After Valentino Rossi and Nicky Hayden spoke to the press on Tuesday, Wednesday saw the turn of Ducati Corse boss Filippo Preziosi to talk to the press about the Desmosedici GP11 MotoGP bike, the influence that Rossi had had on the development direction, and the changes to be made. Summed up in a single word, those changes would best be described as radical: as reported yesterday, the new bike will have an altered forward subframe/airbox, modified triple clamps, revised swingarm and new 42mm forks, rather than the 48mm Ohlins used by all of the Ducatis (as well as the Yamahas and Hondas) except for Casey Stoner during 2010. The changes to the chassis are aimed at making the Desmosedici easier to turn, as well as providing improved feedback, and better feel for the rider, especially at extreme angles of lean.

More surprisingly, the engine has also undergone a major revision

No only does the bike look terrible with the out of place yellow but Rossi's leathers are not what I'd hoped for.

He looked better in Yammi gear.

Yellow & red is McDonalds colours. He looks like Ronald McDonald.

Thats what I'm calling him in those leathers...Ronald McRossi

Duc have come out fighting

Acer today announced the signing of the agreement with Ducati Corse. Under this agreement Acer will become Official Partner of the glorious motorcycle company.

Just like in all teams that want to excel in sport competition, also in Ducati to achieve the objectives requires teamwork, commitment, continuity, flexibility and endurance while giving each individual its due value. And Acer, whose commitment to the world of sport, particularly in the motor world, is long standing and not fortuitous, bases its strength and continued growth on these same values.

Historical Italian brand, Ducati debuted in MotoGP in 2003, becoming quickly one of the most successful players. The similarities between Acer and Ducati Racing are deep. The passion for performance and excellence, total commitment and determination to achieve new goals, the willingness to open up new paths and to invest in innovation motivate both companies.

Where is J4rno & Co.? Are you still gonna tell us how its business as usual and the Duc didn't change much? Hahaha, I called it the moment Rossi signed with Duc. They're gonna move heaven and earth, nothing will be spared, Nasa developed bike. All this for what? I thought Rossi could ride around minor problems. Oh wait, its a level playing field right? Isn't that what we've been told?

Of course they were going to change it drastically. Who would want to ride the crap development that Stoner has done in all these years? And stop telling me they .... blocked Stoner this whole time..What team would do that to their no. 1 rider?

I think Ducati is finally happy to have someone on the team that can give them a clear direction.

They didn't change the frame though. The frame or lack of a frame is what seperates Ducati from all the rest. I think if they had gone back the the trellis or a more traditional frame, that would be moving heaven and earth. The changes while big aren't exactly earth shattering. Not as big a change as deleting the frame.

Look at it this way, last year they had TWO recent world champs and the best they could do in the standings was a fourth and seventh. You would hope they would want to make the bike better, just based on those results.

Not so much moving heavan and earth as re-aranging a forest and some mountains.

Having read quite a few of your posts over the last few months I don't actually believe you are this dogmatic, but you cetainly do put up a front.

I've said before that Lorenzo is trying to create his own brand as well. Once again - why? To make money.

Look at the bike again Jumkie - it says Ducati (of course there is a team behind it, would you rather see a Burgess sticker on the side as well?), it says Marlboro and it says Rossi (which includes Rossi's team).

Is there an issue with someone individualising a bike?

on topic, rossi should cut back on the yellow, only have the 46 yellow on the bike, below the knees should be black, make the sun/moon yellow (maybe the knee sliders as well), gloves as is, boots as is...can anyone do a mock up of that? lol

BRING ON SEPANG!!
