Takahashi? All the talk about how he is on an inferior Honda, yet last year Dovi on the "inferior" Honda managed to pull off 2nd place in the 250 championship, while Takahashi was 11th. This year is not much better, he is currently 8th. Hardly deserving of a Moto GP ride based on performance. Ayoama has performed only slightly better. Haga certainly isn't going to come back to Moto GP. Kiyonari has potential as a Japanese rider in Moto GP, but doubtful he will leave WSBK. Basically, if you look at it, if there really is such a thing as "there has to be at least one Japanese rider in Moto GP", then Nakano has to stay.
Look I like Nakano. He's rom what I gather a nice guy. Even so the guy won't be there much longer. I think one of those guys most likly takahashi will replace him due to the youth movement in GP.

plus he is pushing 32 years old.

True but that is not to say you can't race beyond your thirties. I think you can remain competative as long as your mind and body are still good. Nakano isn't a real hard charger and I don't think he is going to be on the podium any time soon. Hey he could prove me wrong, I hope he does so we see someone else getting up there. Plus it looks good for the thirty plus guys.

Believe me...right now Nakano's passion for racing and desire to win is stronger than ever, he finally has a decent bike that seems to be working well for him. Hopefully he will continue to improve the bike and show what he is really capable of. You will soon see the samurai spirit.

I am very fond of the Samurai and aiki Jujitsu. And I think if Nakano has this spirit he better be calling upon it to finally get some decent results. I hope he does well cause you'll be on cloud nine for years after. Good luck buddy!

Would that look something like this?

It would have to be one hell of a crazy race if Shinya won. I don't see him beating any of the top riders when they are on their game. But I have seen stranger things happen...none come to mind at the moment though

i agree, but i think employment opportunity may have past him by now (HRC). to little to late for shinya. a few years back shinya looked like he was on the up, stones shinya and kwak looked like they only need another season to be on top but as we know only one made it.

He is certainly in a fantastic position to prove he has the right stuff, factory Honda and the best tires in the business right now. We can only sit back and see if he can live up to it.

Now....if only Honda will give him the pneumatic valved engine.

With all this talk about Spies expecting to get his same salary if he moves to MotoGP / WSBK, I would like to know, exactly how much does the guy make right now? It seems his demands for salary are a major hold up in his move out of the AMA. The moto press at the least is making it out that way.

I wonder if Julian Ryder miss spoke during the Brno race last weekend when he said the the satelite teams would all have the pneumatic vavled engines next year??

His rumored salary is $2 million annually.

I been doing some more reading on this whole Saga... if Spies wants to put ambition first then i salut him but if he wants to be a greedy average rider only known in the US for riding superbikes.. so be it.

Oh, your right, he should ride for free and show how he really is committed to being in MOTOGP

. I think that 2 million is not much to ask for actually. Any professional athlete makes a dump load of money, its actually quite normal.

I think you should put this theory to work. I expect you to make less and less every year for the remainder of your life.

Hopefully, you won't have enough to afford the net after a few months.

I just read an article on Crash.net that says Suzuki and Capirex are pretty much a done deal for 09. Then the next is obviously going to be CV. However Paul Denning now eluded to a 3rd bike for Spies. How very intresting.

Haha... unfortunately i'm not in the position Spies is to take a pay cut and still have a great life.

Thats why i feel Spies has a choice here and its not all bad.
