I was looking at this thread .... and naturally looking at the idea of Sete/Rossi battles from a different view ......

My thought is that some folk may actually think Sete will be up at P1 battling with Rossi ....... I looked it as though it was Sete perhaps getting near say a P5,6 or 7 , with Rossi back there battling with him ...... this naturally leaves me to watch Stoner churning out magnificent un-hindered laps up at P1

PS. I also think the main problem for Sete could be Stoner ..... ie. wasn't it Stoner who stuffed him up in 06 then went on to steal his ride!!

Casey can be magnanimous

He got the championship

After the Qatar race in 05 (gee, I hope my facts are correct for dates!), Rossi said that Sete will never win another race ever.

This will remain true.

'05, wasn't it '04? Seem to recall the Jerez incident as being the start of '05 and that it was very much part og the Jinx Rossi put om Gibernau?

Anyway I agree, Gibernau will never win again.

Sete's been a great test rider for Ducati. Lap times are suitably impressive but... the jury's out on whether he's got the stones back for real wheel to wheel racing. There's a few mid-pack boys (JT, Capi, Hopper and Marco come to mind) that would be happy to swap paint and see if Sete needs his ride-along therapist back!!

Sete was the front runner in 2003 and 2004 battling with Rossi riding the Sattelite Honda. When he moved to Ducati in 2006, he wasn't at his best probably due to the accident in his homerace.

If he is riding a Sat Honda, I would expect him up front battling with Rossi, Stoner, Lorenzo, Dovi and his countryman - Pedro de Puig. As for riding Onde 2000 sat Duc, he would be the most in mid pack but occassionaly when its rains he will be on the podium.

Kudos to Sete for having the balls to come back, and face off against Rossi's hoodoo jinx.
Good luck to him, and I hope he gets some good results. MotoGP needs people like Sete, and the closer the racing and the more winners the better. Sete was never scared to push the pass, or bin it trying.
You can guarantee Sete will be huge in Spain. Pedrosa and Puig will hate it (that alone is enough for me to support him)

Will he win races ??? Unlikely.
He will be popular in Spain, and will get a lot of support for himself, Ducati, and the sponsors.
He will also do a .... load better than Marco did in 2008 (and probably better than Marco in 2009).
