Within a hundredth of his fastest race lap as well. Unfortunately these aren't high standards in an absolute sense, although they're reasonably promising for just throwing a leg over the Duc for the first time. Also good that he's ahead of Gibernau and Canepa, both of who (especially Canepa) have more experience with the bike and have put up fast times with it in the past. You do have to wonder what the equipment differences beteen the satellite and factory bikes is at this point, though.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (MigsAngel @ Oct 27 2008, 02:02 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>They are in keeping with the pace of the Second Ducati on Sunday.

Be gentle. They're on new bikes, and one's a returning old fart who hasn't ridden in anger for 3 years.

Nicky looks strange on the Duc! I guess I'm just so used to seeing him in orange and white atop the Honda. I'll get used to it at some point I suppose.

I love the look on his face in the close-up "Chapter 2" pic. I think he's really gonna go for it, and I believe he'll be successful.

Also, I wouldn't read too much into these tests. The first couple days out, these guys are gonna be taking it easy and getting used to the bikes. They have a lot of "personalizing" to do before they get to the "setting fast times".

I do agree though...winter is almost as exciting as the season. Testing is fun! That and talking about teams/sponsors/gossip, etc.

I'm not crazy about the Haydens paint job it looks like it was done overnight. The bare carbon looks incredible.

Thanks for that. I realized after that you had already stated so in an earlier post. At work, thirsty for info and behind a ginormous filter...

Interesting! Its early testing!

Hayden is faster than Giber. Remember only Stoner and Hayden are on GP9 at this time!
All others are using GP8"s . All of them are supposed to be on GP9 at Jerez in November...

Stoner faster than last Sunday race.

All times should improve as the st up work continues.
