This is the announcement and the formal thread for Congressional delegates to discuss the test proceedings and formulate Ducati fan support strategies for the 2009 season.

Seeing as this is a Congress, I hope there will be plenty of pontification and political grandstanding on Monday.

Enjoy the race, hopefully we will meet on Monday to discuss a race win at Valencia as well

Let's see if we can avoid getting the thread locked this time.

Stoner will be testing on Mon-Tues with Hayden, so when is the next test after that because I'm too lazy to look it up? Will Stoner only miss one test or is it more? So looking forward to see how Haystack goes on the duke.

I think that there is 1 more test this year, Jerez mabe? then off to Sepang in early January

There is too much to learn to expect Nicky to kick ... first up on Monday. But I look forward to his comments. Hopefully he loves GP9 and discovers there is a massive potential in it. Would love to see Nicky return to the winners circle next season if he doesn't win at Valencia today.

On that note, which special interest groups do you suggest I cater to in order to benefit my own bank account?

Let the revolution begin.

I'm in again.

After the Casper looking suit they made Nicki wear at Valencia I'm glad he's out of there (Honda).

I really don't know what to make of this morning's session. Hayden doesn't look comfortable and the bike looks as stiff as a board (just like it did for Melandri). Furthermore, Hayden seems to be hugging the tank which seems to be a good way to ride the Honda, but it never worked for Melandri.

The headlines say he was "taking it easy". I know no one out their is going to attempt a Quali-esque lunge at a low number, but 1.5 seconds off the pace is a bit troubling. I'm sure Hayden wanted to make some statement this morning but I don't think he caught anyone's attention.

I hope he can get it sorted in short order.

I'm glad to see that both Dovi and Melandri look happy.

1. Casey Stoner, Ducati Marlboro Team - 1´32.464
2. Dani Pedrosa, Repsol Honda - 1´32.672
3. Loris Capirossi, Rizla Suzuki MotoGP - 1´33.325
4. Alex De Angelis, San Carlo Honda Gresini - 1´33.375
5. Chris Vermeulen, Rizla Suzuki MotoGP - 1´33.565
6. Jorge Lorenzo, Fiat Yamaha Team - 1´33.722
7. John Hopkins, Kawasaki Racing Team - 1´33.760
8. Randy De Puniet, LCR Honda MotoGP - 1´33.832
9. Nicky Hayden, Ducati Marlboro Team - 1´34.128
10. Marco Melandri, Kawasaki Racing Team - 1´34.152
11. Andrea Dovizioso, Repsol Honda - 1´34.340
12. Sete Gibernau, Onde 2000 Ducati - 1´34.451
13. Toni Elias, San Carlo Honda Gresini - 1´34.628
14. Olivier Jaque, Kawasaki Racing Team - 1´35.013
15. Niccolo Canepa, Alice Team - 1´35.459
16. Mika Kallio, Alice Team - 1´35.727
17. Yuki Takahashi, JiR Team Scot Honda - 1´36.895

A second and a half in his first outing shouldn't be too worrying. He's more than a second faster than Canepa who has been riding the GP8 all season and many thought his times have been rather impressive and three tenths quicker than Gibs and his testing times on the GP8 were thought to have been equally impressive.

What may be telling is how he is adapting to a new bike, team and tires and comparing him to someone who is in the same situation. Dovizioso for example. I'm not worried, as Dovizioso will get acquainted to the works 212, the Repsol team and Bridgestones, Hayden will do the same on the GP9. What is impressive is Lorenzo's times.

Nicky will be fine. It just takes time for him to get teh thing sorted a bit I am sure. Hey if he can be a second off of Stoners times then he should easily be fine. Plus new tires. new bke, new team hey this isn't easy. He is looking like times wise he is doing fine and getting close to some sort of base setting.

But at the same time...Marco jumped on the new Kawasaki, with "new" tires (they're a new specification for everyone) and a new team, and instantly went faster than any of his race times on the Duc. He finished 10th ahead of Nicky in 12th.

I'm just a bit worried. I realize Nicky has a lot of new things to adjust to, but if Marco can do what he did then Nicky should in theory being doing at least as well if not better. Marco is in the same boat.
