Tact

It appears this is turning into quite a saga. MCN's Matthew Bird, author of the article claims that Stoner is basically lying, the quotes are mostly from Laguna Seca and he has the recordings to prove it. Feels like MCN is unduly victimized.

So what youre saying is Casey Moaner is back peddling to avoid getting his teeth punched out?

Well who bloody knows the truth then...

Go Lorenzo.

Now that's a ..... fight i would pay good money to watch. Uccio vs Stoner on pay per view. Genius !

It all a bit sad this slagging off of Rossi and Stoner by their respective fans. One can appreciate that both are great riders who have different strengths and weaknesses.

Clearly, Rossi is fortunate that he is seen as the face of Motogp - he'd be a fool not to use that to his advantage - and is clearly more adept at playing politics in the paddock and dealing with the media. Perhaps Casey should have recognised that he would never match Vale in these areas and show a bit more discretion.

Stoner appears to be able to ride a bike fast even it is a bit of dog whereas Rossi is unable or unwilling to go that bit further if the bike is not right. Perhaps, Vale should have pushed that bit more or be willing to adapt a bit more, given that his bike is a dog.

There's some interesting stuff here about things in Motogp but let everywhere try to be nice.

What do you mean?

Casey does not need any hassle (who does?) and when he says something, other people choose to put a spin on it, often painting him in a bad light - "whiner" for instance. Whereas Valentino is often given a pass when he says, for example, something negative about the Ducati and is not accused of whining (except here, of course), Casey does not appear to be given the same leeway. Therefore, say nothing, be bland and smile and just win. Remember, I am just saying perhaps ...

No to the rice burner son, too much power for you

I think Austin did a bit for MCN when he was doing his degree. He would never fit in there though. Our mate Ooost has to much objectivity for that rag !

He did - he stayed at mine and commuted to Peterborough for a fortnight which was a very long day. He also covered some BSB meetings for them.

I agree with your sentiments about the paper Rog since it tried to restyle itself as the Daily Star of biking. It has improved slightly of late with some really informative articles and some great retro features.

Great experience for Oost - their ....... loss.

If chooses to face face the hassle, why not let him? Some like him for it, some hate him for it, and I think he cares little either way. I personnally very much enjoy the fact that he speaks his mind without all the corporate smile, politcally correct bull. We have to many bland hypocrites out there already.

I dont think so. Anyone who thinks this shower of .... is legit is deluded. I count myself lucky i lived through the 80's and 90's before the accountants and lawyers got there grubby hands on our sport.

Not legit? So why do you watch? Stoner was heroic today, Spies the same until the engine let go. It could be better but it is not a shower of ...., despite the crap nature of the Indy circuit.

So you reckon that none of Rossi's WCs are legit? How about Stoner's two? Lorenzo's? Hayden's?

Jumkie waffles on about Rossi only winning due to SNS tyres - who else had them? It wasn't just Rossi, it was everyone in a position to win. Which may have only been 4-6 bikes. Even back in the 80s & 90s, how many rider-bike combinations had the chance of wins or podiums?

I'm with you on having been to the races in the 80s and been able to spend time in the Paddock Bar at Donnington after the race with the likes of Rainey & Schwantz - who wouldn't want the return of those days?

On the flip side, you also have to remember that a really good race crowd at Donington for the 500s was about 15,000 in those days

Why does a junkie still take drugs even though the quality gets worse every deal?

I'm not saying any ones titles are not legit, that's melodrama ! But as a fair world sporting event its far from legit. When the rights holder and promoter starts telling teams who to hire and changing rules to suit you have to question the legitimacy of the series.

I'm not sure how much power Dorna have to tell who to hire, and I doubt that was how Rossi got back into Yamaha. Krop correctly (IMO) states that most of the rule changes have been MSMA & Honda driven.

As I said, I agree that the series was much different in the 80s, and better for a pure race fan, but if it had remained the same (15,000 being a good attendance at Donington, no mainstream TV coverage, etc) would it exist at all?

Ezpeleta, Honda & Rossi cop a lot of this talk in reference to the politics of MotoGP.

Why isn't Rossi on a Honda then?
