Tact

Casey goes out of his way to not fluff when the topic is Rossi. He obviously loathes him. He sees in Rossi, the same things that non Rossi fans see. He views Rossi and Dorna as a single entity that have conspired against him from running off a Rossi like string of championships by drastically changing regs whenever he puts it together and is on the verge of domination. His book, if he even bothers to have one written, would be very telling. I doubt he even bothers, he will just let it fly in an interview and disappear into the outback.

He certainly does go out his way to tear Rossi a new 1 when he gets the chance. He didnt tear any of the other riders who failed on the Ducati...well maybe Marco slightly. I do think he views Rossi as some kind of motorcycling heathen but even those who aren't fans of Rossi know that it isn't Rossi who's pulling the strings. Christ Casey rides for the manufacturer behind the biggest rule change ....-up of all!

Will Rossi bite??

Which one?

[background=rgb(245, 245, 255)]There's a common misconception about what Burgess said. This is what he actually said:[/background]

[background=rgb(245, 245, 255)]"It's pretty clear, and I pointed out to Valentino, that he won't be riding a Yamaha anymore, so there's no point in trying to make it like his Yamaha. It will be a Ducati. He likes a bike that has grip and that would be front and rear. But you have to maximize the package, but I can see that Casey and Nicky run quite different settings on the bike, just from observations of the geometry on the bike. I can watch some of these lesser riders on the Ducatis and you can see that the bikes are, in my opinion, unsuitably set for what they want to try and do with them. I'm not saying anybody's doing a bad job. I see these things wobbling around. When I think, clearly, if we had that issue with Valentino it'd be fixed in 80 seconds, but some riders don't like the hardness of the bike, because they don't get the feel. But then when they're riding around and it's too soft they...." [/background]

Instead of crying, maybe sour grapes stoner should stick around a few more years and race?

Maybe but VR has played mind games and manipulated the sport and his opponents for years and this time it has bit his ... and CS is throwing a bit back and good on him,its only the bobbers who are compaining not VR and if he does he needs to grow a pair and take it on the chin.

Rossi's 'bite' came across on twitter as (link to article) then ' always cute my friend Casey ah ah ah'

Was it equally 'cute' or somehow more 'tactful' when the Yellow Clown told his one-time friend Sete, "I promise you will never win a race again."? That sort of talk is typical of Rossi: Throughout his career he has consistently gone out of his way to bash and belittle his main competitors - Biagi, Gibbers, Stoner and Lorenzo. (Hayden got a pass only because he was/is so popular; Rossi realized that any nasty remarks would likely backfire.) 'Tact' and 'respect' are simply not in the man's personality or vocabulary.

I must admit that I'm a bit disappointed to see Stoner sink to Rossi's level. Stoner can be blunt and temperamental, but he's usually fairly respectful of the competition. (Pov's certainly right about Stoner''s view of #46.) However, if you look at Stoner as an instrument of Karma, I can only stand and applaud. Rossi has sown an overabundance of poison seeds in his day and fully deserves the bitter harvest he is reaping...

Yes, its all true what he is saying.

He is so ...... bitter lol.

I dont know if rossi heading back to yamaha is being "forgiven" or just that they know he can be legit again and they want him back. They will have the strongest (arguably) team next year so why not.

I gotta hand it to Stoner. The dude does not give a .... about ruffling feathers in the least. I hope he says the heck with it, I will postpone the retirement thing for a bit, go to Ducati's lesser team if they are really going to have one, and beat everyone. Now that would be a season to watch.

This is Stoner's subjective opinion of course. Stoner is fast becoming the Carl Lewis of MotoGP and it's not for his on track achievements.

stoner got a championship winning bike in 2007, then it went downhill from there(no more champrionships on that bike). Then got a Honda championship winning bike. let's see how he does from there.

I don't remember where I read that, but it was somebody's response to Casey's comments.

Did Stoner say anything that was inaccurate? Nope.

Was it well within his rights to speak his mind? For sure.

Should he have said this stuff? Damned if I know, but he does seem like an angry young man and I hope he get's into a better headspace when he retires.

I came across some interesting info regarding Casey the other day. Some friends of mine did a job for a close friend of Casey's.

This guy said that he is a completely different person now days, I think the word bitter was used, same as what u guys are saying. He said he isn't easy to get along with anymore.

He also mentioned that he thinks a lot of Casey's issues are to do with pressure from his old man. I never knew that old man stoner was like that, but it certainly wouldn't be the first time that family has caused problems for a top level athlete.

Take that as you will, just thought id let u all know what I'd heard.

Casey clearly has very little....oooft!

From MCN
