I'm so sorry for Yuki, he would have thrashed Haga and Edwards, it takes a 250cc talent to teach all these superjunkers how to ride a bike!

Right, that`s like saying Loeb could show Alonso how to drive a F1 car. Horses for courses. I`ll admit, Takahashi is a very talented guy, his talent compared to guys like Edawrds is obviuosly debatable, but a bunch of SBK riders on big diesel SBKs versus a guy who pilots a 100kg bike for a living? You do the math. Just like SBK riders struggle in GP, Takahashi would have struggled on an endurance SBK.

Just wanted to wind you up. lol.

Definately not as long ago as the last time Mark Webber won one .... oh wait that never happened.

Yeah, but who cares about him? I`ll shutup before you realize Bayliss has gone 3 races without a win though
<

Makoto Tamada will be the replacement for Takahashi in the Seven Stars Honda team. That's certainly going to help their cause, should be a great battle between Kiyo/Tamada and Edwards/Haga.

What sorta tradeoff is it, though. I mean, Takahashi wasn`t a big bike rider, but Tamada would have trouble adapting to a new pair of shoes, let alone a completely different bike

I cannot see no TV listing on any of the Sky Channels for this race???

Last year highlights of it was shown on Eurosport around 3 weeks after the event.

I hope Edawrds and Haga win this year, but if Tamada and Kiyo win then that would be cool too.

Ive got this thought in my head that tells me if Edwards wins the 8 hour and basically enjoys his time on a superbike this weekend, that might make him actually want to go back to WSB maybe. My head tells me that Colin is very determined and more than likely, even though his results in GP havent been up to his expectaions, he will still want to stay in GP's.

Im just thinkin a weekend on a superbike might put thoughts into his head as to what he wants to do next year, if you follow me.

The same thing applies to Tamada. C'mon the guy has won 2 motogp races, one of which he beat Rossi fair and square. Part of me thinks, put some bridgestones on his RCV and he might be back to wining ways, but the other part of me thinks if he went to WSB he might be super quick.

As for Kiyo, i think if he wins BSB this year, that should easily put his name on a list for a Honda 800cc next year? HM Plant Honda would also want to keep him. I think Kiyo would go great in WSB but i can only see that happening on a Honda. And i doubt were going to see a full factory Honda effort in WSB next year due to the new 800's in motoGP.

I just think if you put Tamada and Kiyo in WSB next year, Japan would have a great chance at a Japanese World Champion.

FCC take the 8 hours!!!

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE <div class='quotemain'>After taking pole in the top ten shoot out yesterday, the FCC TSR Honda of Shin'ichi Itoh and Takeshi Tsujimura dominated todays race in some style to come home over one minute ahead of the second placed Toy Story Honda.

Despite setting only the 4th fastest race lap, once in the lead after hour 2 the number 778 machine simply rode away from the rest of the field in a race that saw some of the favourites suffer from mechanical gremlins and overzealous competitors alike.

Not one of the top bikes managed to be completely scare free during the race, with the first to fall foul being the much hyped number 45 Yamaha of Edwards and Haga. Edwards fell on the very first lap after tangling with the Sakurai Honda, he remounted only to have the bike slow and finally stop 3 laps later whilst in 35th place, not quite the return to glory that Yamaha was looking for.

Pre race favourites on Kiyonari and Tamada on the Seven Stars Honda were ruled out of contention in the third hour after brake problems lost them 2 laps and saw them languishing as low as 7th, but that didn't mean they stopped trying, with Riyo Kiyo setting the fastest lap of the race with a little over 6 hours gone and clearly enjoying himself as he dragged the bike up one lap and back to 5th at the flag. In fact all of the European Based Japanese riders looked happy to be back racing on home soil, with Keichi Kitighawa even playing with his daughter in the pit garage moments before one of his stints.

So to the rest of the field, and behind the FCC bike the Toy story - Harc Pro CBR1000RR held off various challenges throughout to take second. It was a good result for what is a very experienced team best known for running current KTM rider Hiroshi Aoyama in the Japanese GP250 class. Behind them there was a fierce battle between the number 11 Seven Stars Honda, and the Yoshimura Suzuki of Aoki and Watanabe. The riders traded third repeatedly, depending on the rider, with Okada clearly the faster of the two Honda pilots; indeed he set the second fastest lap of the race whilst chasing Aoki. In the end the decision went in favour of the Suzuki riders by 1 lap.

Top Yamaha in the race was not, surprisingly, one of the YZF R1 SP's, though the YSP and Presto bike gave a good showing in the first half, it was the regular world endurance entry of Yamaha Austria in 10th.

So Honda managed to extend their winning streak at the 8 Hours to 10 in a row, a clearly elated Itoh claimed his third win, and first on a non factory bike, Tsujimura showed he can ride a superbike as fast as his 600 and TSR proved that they are still a force to be reckoned with on a world stage. Not a bad result.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (teomolca @ Jul 30 2006, 11:45 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>So much for the Super Yamaha team, ha ha ha, Edwards bined it in the first lap.
He didn't "bin it" he was ran into. He then passed NINETEEN riders in two laps to go from 52nd to 33rd before his bike quit. If it wasn't for bad luck Edwards would have no luck at all this year. Firts an M1 that is a pain to set up and now an R1 that wont run.

Unlucky for Nori & Colin.

Im guessing Eurosport will show the race in the near future.

man suzuka is such a cool track. it's ashame they can't make it safer for the gp's. i would rather see it on the gp calender than motegi. it's an old style track with lots of fast sweepers. thanks for the vid. i forgot what suzuka looked like.
