Suzuka 8 Hours

I stand firm, Kiyonari and Takahashi to win.

Takahashi will show these SJK (Super Junk) riders where the talent lies, 250cc!!

250 Talent will lie in the Kitty litter trying to muscle a real bike around the track at speed.

The runt won`t stand a chance against MotoGP stars like Edwards or Kamikaze late brakers like Haga. Kiyonari will have to work his ... off just to stop the gap from becoming too big. I wish I was going, I could hear all Kiyo`s yelling at the runt "You are fool! Not ride big steel horse, only little steel horse! No arm power! No honour! American devil and crazy Kamikaze warrior defeat us! Your fault! Many Dishonours! You back to small horse now! Never return to CBR!"

Can't argue with that.

Things are really staring to get kicing here. I`ve never seen this much hype over a motorcycle race. It`s on the radio. And not some crappy AM radio station no one listens to, they`re having interviews with riders on the top pop radio channels, Suzuka circuit corp is advertising everywhere and people are talking about it. Not just bike fans. It`s amazing. I was talking to my host and he said it`s the most popular event at Suzuka, attendance wise. Crowds vary from 100,000 to 200,000 people each year (Jerez eat your heart out!) Honestly I didn`t know bike races could get this much hype from the general population.

So Kyo and takakachi is the best Honda can do? Coudn't they rope in some of their MotoGP riders? After all: "de gap between GPs and the superbikes is not so big nowadays" apparently.

Where have I heard that before? .....I`m seroius, I forgot

It`s about having Japanese riders. They always do exceptionally well at the Suzuka 8 hours and by far the race`s biggest audience is in Japan, so they`re good for advertising, too. Kiyo was a good choice, he`s a CBR racer, and a fast one at that. The best Japanese Hona Superbiker at the moment. What I don`t understand is Takahashi. A CBR is a lot heavier than his 250, and the riding style is a lot different. Then again, who else could they send that`s japanese and on Honda`s payroll? Tamada? Aoyama? Takahashi is better than Aoyama and as for Tamada, well you gotta question the guy`s drive. And adaptability. If Better tyres throw him from the front of the pack to the back, what will a different, heavier, slower bike on Superbike endurance tyres do? I know the choice dosen`t seem too good, Takahashi isn`t a Superbiker and Kiyo dosen`t even race in a world championship, but if you think about it, it`s the best choice they could have made.

This is just me being a homer but I would have liked to see Jake Zemke get a chance. He's the best rider in the AMA outside of Mladin and Spies at the moment and beat them pretty senseless at Miller Motorsports Park, a track where traction is a non issue. I think Zemke is a rider who has been and continues to be very overlooked.

Are Kawasaki sending a team? In which case, is Nakano going? Why did Yamaha send Edwards though?! Rossi didn't agree to move for less than ten million pounds more than the rest of the field combined or something?

I thought it was Rossi but is more likely to be someone who has raced both, like shakey, CE or Kyo.

Yeah but you need experience at Suzuka, somthing the Japanese guys have in droves. Trying to beat them at Suzuka is like trying to beat the Italians at Mugello. Damn hard. Honda`s made the right choce, but they won`t beat Haga and EDWARDS (Take note and wave your flag, Ooost, no Zemke reqired

Kawasaki do send teams, I know Josh Brookes will be there, I think for them. Good choice, he`s got experience there with Honda, I think he came 6th one year, but like GP, Kawa really don`t care as much as they should. Nakano may be the best choice, teamed up with Walker or even OJ, but niether of them have real SBK exoperience, and Kawasaki don`t care about the 8 hour enough to have a serious stab at it. It`s honda turf.
And Edwards is a good choice, he`s a former winner and he`s a Superbiker. Yamaha can`t send Rossi because he won`t go. Ever since the tragic events 2003 GP there, Rossi said he dosen`t want to race at the track anyomore. Besides, Edwards and Haga are more than capable of flogging the runt and domestic championship Kiyo

Yamaha are sending Jason DiSalvo to run on some sort of a B or C squad effort. I'm just saying, I think Zemke is a guy who's been overlooked. Not only for the eight hour but for a ride in World Supers.

Well, If Honda have got a good rider, they`ll know it. They didn`t become the massive evil Red Wing empire by being stupid. Picture this, the AMA ..... slaps Yoshi Suzuki for having TC straight off a GP bike, Spies and Mladin are brought down the ground, Spies either skips off to a world championship or decides he don`t wanna leave mommy in the states (In which case he stays in the AMA until he`s 78) And Mladin decides he`s getting too old for this and retires, making more money from his empire than he did racing in the AMA, that leaves Zemke ready, willing and able to take an AMA title and get noticed.
A real problem is the European-based nature of the world Superbike series. Most of the teams are Euro based. Making it easier for Europeans to get in. I mean, come on. The yanks invented Superbike racing and there`s not a single American in the world championship. Because theres no American based teams to jump up to from domestic championships like they do in Europe. I think it`s because 1) The USA is geographically isolated, making it financially harder to base a WSBK team there when most of the races are in Europe and 2) the AMA series is so damn good, what`s the point? Why not just have an AMA team? I mean, Spies dosent leave because he don`t wanna haul ... around the world and get travelsick, and in the AMA he dosen`t have to, the Hodge came because the money is good, and Mladin never left because he could win a prestigious championship without having to join the world circuit. At the end of the day, the AMA Superbike championship is still the best domestic motorcycle racing championship in the world.

when i go to the official website i only get the japanese language. i cannot find the place to change it.

Takahashi broke his arm testing his CBR1kRR at a wet Suzuka yesterday. He will miss the 8 hour even but is expected to be ready for Brno. No word on his replacement yet. Come on Honda, give it to Zemke.

No don`t give it to Zemke, I want Edwards and Haga to win without a fuss, which they could have if the 250 runt was the other half of Kiyo`s team. Zemke can actually ride a big bike, he could be a threat!

Hayden Fan, I checked through every page on that site, they don`t have it in English.

It`s a shame because they cover the 8 hour pretty well.
