Stoner's Wrist

I like Chris too, met and spoke briefly with him at Sepang in '07. I just think he is an

average elite rider!

And Suzuki are clearly not passionate about MotoGP. I mean building a completely new machine from the ground up for this year...they suck so much!

The mere fact they had to showed how much they suck !

Just as a postscript to this thread. All the major networks were running the Stoner wrist story last night ........ normally the australian media only shows interest if he has done something "mamoth" ........ makes me wonder if a "pull-out" is in the wind.

I hope he's not gonna pull out ... what made you think a pullout may happen? what was the media saying? or was you just thinking it may happen because all the big networks were involved?

I think it may be this ....... but its kinda odd that they all ran it all of a sudden when its been "out there" for a few weeks now ...... and it wasn't just one station, say channel 10 ( who usually is up there with things MGP ) ... it was pretty much the 5 networks here running it.

Made me wonder if some precursor to a pull-out was being issued.
<

Could be they are just all slow at picking up the MGP news

i did see a australian media article earlier and the headline was "Stoner considers quitting season"

well the championship fight wont be as good if stoner pack's it in for this season, but.... in my opinion to be honest if pain is that bad or his wrist is going to make his riding unstable over race distance then he should take a year out... i mean imagine if he did race with a dodgy wrist and he falls off or highsides and hits his wrist, he could do some serious damage and ruin his racing career.

hopefully some training and physio will help improve things so he can race @ 100%

It was in the sydney papers this morning as well but looked pretty much the same wording as the story which prompted this thread so I would hope that it is nothing new and the time it has taken to appear is just reflective of the ignorance of and lack of attention to motogp characteristic of the mainstream media in australia.

Scoreboard. It doesn't lie.

This has to be a media beat up. We all know that Stoner just sat on the bike in 07 and it won the championship +it's not like the schapoid is something major.

Imagine if the lad feel through a coffee table, now that would be worthy of the news and a heap of sob stories.

The CS media circus as it's best, unlike coffee table boy and his cut toenail.

good name this time
<

the writing is still the same

at least I find you entertaining

Might go on like this all the way to round 1 ..... still doesn't say he's in or out so all we can do is wait. ........ but meh that's injury
<

its not the bone thats causing the problem.... stoner says its the scar tissue his own words..

"I still have a lot of soreness in the scar tissue three months later"

"I think it is enough time for a small bone to heal, the bone itself has healed so I don’t understand why I have this problem"

maybe some nerve damage?

I think that we will know more after the Qatar test. The Sepang race last year caused him a lot of pain and he finished way back from the winner. Perhaps it's the worst possible track to get back in the saddle?

I know a lot of people give Stoner ...., but if he does sit out this season, MotoGp is likely screwed in terms of real competition at the front of the grid for 2009. Rossi walkover anyone?

The same discussion has been going on in a number of forums and my take is that I don't believe it to be a hoax or an undue whinge, nor mindgames but do strongly suspect that the real meaning of the comments have been somewhat 'lost in translation' and would not judge their veracity unless I could see a video of the question being asked (thus judge by tone and body language).

IMO, CS was likely asked a question as to 'how is the wrist' and responded by saying 'it still hurts and is causing me grief, not good really and I expected more by this stage, may as well sit out the year because I cant compete with it in this condition'. On other words, answered with frustration as we often do when we ourselves will respond with a similar comment to 'dont know why I bother sometimes'.
