I am basically agreeing with everyone here but to add a further point.
Stoner rides a bike like nothing else. I can only speak for Phillip Island but no one has the bike dancing like he does on the track. In comparison (and delineating riding and racing) most of the Euro riders are boring, neat and in line.
The reason he looks boring, especially on TV is that he clears off. This however is the problem of the 800 era bikes and the other 800 winners, Pedro, Vale, Jorge (et al) all do the same thing.
Stoner gets tarred with the boring 800 brush because he got his factory ride and came of age so to speak in an era where elbow to elbow racing has taken the back seat to outright speed.
I want some reverse grids. Vale can have a bad qualifying and come through the field but when Casey is on song he gets pole (or the front row) and simply flees leaving the somewhat distant battle for minor placing’s. When Casey qualifies poorly he races poorly (somewhat consistent).
Chuck the fast guys at the back 1 race from 4 for example and lets see ALL the fast guys cut through the field. I also acknowledge this would favour Vale more than anyone else but racing is the aim, right?
