Stoner had a brake problem and he rode quite a race in spite of it. No details yet but hardly his fault.

meh he did as well as the bike allowed him today. the bike nearly let go even on the warmup lap... in the end he never gave up and he passsed dovi, may be crucial in the end

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Jumkie @ Apr 26 2009, 07:08 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>We knew Takahashi didn't belong in MotoGP, now its confirmed. Unbelievable.

Unrfortunate as it is these incidents happen deep in the field, even Rossi has done it. Obviously It's a disappointing result for Nicky but its irrational to judge Yuki's worth on this mistake.

As far as the race goes, that was pretty tense. Excellent job by Melandri, i'm happy to see him comfortable again. Dovi looked more out of shape than i have seen him for a long time, and Stoner had a fairly solid ride from his poor start and obvious issues early on. Pedrosa was really impressive today, not only has he re-asserted his authority over Dovi, he's also produced some of his toughest passes since coming to motogp, promising for the rest of the season when he returns to fitness. Standard Rossi consistency as usual, hard to fault. Interestingly he didn't seem particularly amused about Lorenzo beating him, i think he considers Jorge a real threat this year. Lorenzo, faultless. I LOVE IT, Jerez is next so i'm pretty hyped but with such limited practice time this may not be truly representative.

As a side note, the BBC coverage is terrible. Both commentators seem to just guess what is going on, and Charlie Cox seemed genuinely bitter that Lorenzo had beaten Rossi.

Oh yea, did my eyes deceive me or was Nicky attempting to throw gravel at Yuki Takahashi

Oh give it up. Takashi did him a favor by sending him to the trailer so he can catch up on the next Jerry Springer Show, it wasn't like Hayden was going anywhere anyways.

I think Valentino Rossi is in big big trouble. He got beat by Stoner in the first race pretty horribly. And now he is beaten by his own teammate Jorge Lorenzo in the second race..... this must be a crushing blow on Rossi.

That WAS pretty funny. He just looked at it for a second and turned his back.

Nobody likes to be beaten by his teammate

Yeah hard to to say what Takahashi was thinking, totally T-boned Hayden off the ....... track. I hope Nicky is OK. Although he was still on the ground, he was pushing the track crew off of him so hopefully thats a sign that he was pissed, as he should be, but uninjured.

Anyone with updates on Nicky please speak up!

Takahashi looked devastated head in hands realising his mistake. I'm sure he'll be saying a big sorry to Hayden when Nicky has cooled down.

Excellent Kallio catching and beating Toseland. Good to see a good race at the front even if it did mean we missed Mole and Toseland being beaten by a rookie. I want the Lorenzo's Land comic

If you recall, the same thing happened at the start of last year...And we all know how that season turned out.

Yeah you right there, stoner was only 4.3sec behind rossi in the end

.I don't know which race you been watching.

I could see that rossi wasn't best pleased but i think that was down to not having proper setup in todays race but he is master of knowing his limits unlike stoner where he pushes too hard and crash.I am sure inside he will be quite happy to grab 2nd place.

....., the judgement is based on his previous record. The average of all his classifications in 125/250 was 13th, finishing out of the top ten over five years, with zero wins the last two years he was in the 250 feeder series. Never a pole or a fastest lap. Zero titles, and somehow he makes the MotoGP field? Obviously this mistake says something about his racecraft. The mistake is not a career of course, but I said we knew he didn't belong in MotoGP. This mistake confirms what was already known. You have superbike champs and runners up, as well as runners up in 250 not offered rides in MotoGP, yet some how Yuki got in? And hey, when you torpedo a guy, have the decency to go check on him, if you get swung at...take it like a man. (Man--something you don't know anything about, eh)

This is what I mean by calling you out on BS. You make a statement but can't back it up because you think of it the moment it appears in your child like brain then proceed on typing. Don't go crying that you get bullied because you seek out the fire.

Rossi seemed to get it together during the last few laps, despite the problems he was having, but I'm disappointed he didn't get the win.

You claimed that Yuki's 1st lap mistake today confirms that he shouldn't be in motogp, i'm calling that ......... You know as well as i do that a single mistake of this nature is not significant in determining a riders worth in the motogp, as i pointed out already even Rossi has made this mistake more than once. In the most part i agree that there were other riders more deserving of a motogp seat, and that Yuki's record to date is not all that impressive (the flip side of that being that he has been hampered by injury, has won race and could hang with Dovi when they were team mates). I think he should be given the season to learn before we'll really know what his prospects are in the class, many riders with almost no previous achievement worth mentioning have had motogp careers, but thats besides the point.
