factory? yeah it cam from a factory but never had factory support

Thats quite debatable. Aprilia always give factory support to a handful of their top rider and specifically in 2005 Casey was the main contender to Pedrosa on the apparently superior Aprilia.

Not sure about 2003 but in 2004 he was on a factory Red Bull KTM, and 2005 was on a factory Aprilia, thought you would know this being such a fanboy

He was factory Aprilia in 02 and 03 with the LCR squad.

Casey didn't win a race, Casey wasn't rookie of the year (as Lorenzo is now), was slightly overshadowed by Dani and Casey wasn't 4th overall.
Casey was on a .... bike compared to what jorge is on which if you forgot is the Factory Yamaha the best supposed all around bike in the paddock.

Spot on. I miss them so much. Especially the Sachsenring 2004 Repsols with the dual, flush undertail exhaust. What a pretty looking tail end that was.

Yeah Barros and Hayden both had them for Sachsenring and then I believe they were gone by Brno. That system got one, perhaps two races. I wonder how much Honda spent developing that exhaust only for it to be scrapped. That's a funny thought.

Has anyone been able to find pictures of this exhaust? I just searched google for 10 minutes and came up empty handed.

I'm afraid he wouldn't have been anywhere close to Pedrosa if he hadn't.

I actually agree with pinky that being given a factory bike and being on the factory team are not necessarily the same. The rate at which casey binned the bikes in 2005 must also have caused significant budgetary problems for lcr.

Btw, I think pedrosa was better than casey in the 250s; he did win the championship after all and his strategy of trying to finish most of the races was a sound one in my opinion.
