Silverstone GP: Predictions, Practice & Qual

Bummed. Was really looking forward to seeing Crutchlow at his home race.

Wouldn't it be just inbreeding?

So I don't think you would really get much evolution going on
<
................... which does really smack of the "common bopper"

Well after reading Evolution's previous comments that is all the proof I need to confirm that boppers are a genetically inferior species compared to even molluscs

Great effort by Karel - well done lad.

Sorry for Cal....we need all these guys fit and firing and the poms need a hero to cheer for - its been a while. He has been excellent so far this season and I hope he heals real soon.

Rossi - well that's just plain embarrassing. Cant use the shoulder excuse as that's well past its use by date now.....or maybe its just Stoners mind games and he is mentally broken....or maybe he is just sandbagging until 2012. Whatever it is karma is a ..... and his previous comments about Stoner are coming back to haunt him. He must be seriously questioning his decision to move to Ducati now but I really hope they can improve soon as the series needs them competitive.

Stoner - freak!

Simo....the new alien?

Edwards.....gutsy effort.

too bad for cal, i knew the bbc commentators talking him up would jinx him.... they did it to toseland and he crashed aswell

and tomorrow looks like an interesting race tomorrow...

each of the riders are faster in there various sections....

I am a Valentino fan and I am trying to make sense of his qualification today. Okay, it's a new track but he has been to new tracks before so I can see having some effect but not this much.

Have they looked at the forecast on Sunday and based all their settings for the bike for the predicted wet weather? This would seem a big risk to me as we all know the weather in the UK can be a wee bit unpredictable, so it may end up being dry for the race tomorrow.

Alternatively, has Vale written this weekend off as nothing more than a glorified testing session so that he can give 100% for next race at Assen, a track where he will be totally comfortable.

The more I think of this, the more I tend towards that Vale and the team have just got it wrong. I'm more optimistic for the race but the days of winning races from so far back on the grid are long gone unless of course, it is really, really bad weatherwise tomorrow.

If it's dry, Stoner wins. If it's wet, I just don't know...

I don't like Silverstone for Motogp in the UK, I'd much rather it was still at Donington Park. Silvestone is just too big!

As much as I don't like Sic, the boy is FAST!

I dunno. His performances in practice and qually have been fast but has he ever been fast in a race, apart from the one he crashed while leading this year? Anyway, I'm hoping he can step it up - safely - cos we need more riders at the pointy end. One thing's for sure, he's got a lot more potential than Dovi.

And did anyone see the press conference? I honestly defy anyone with an ounce of objectivity to watch Stoner's interview and not like the guy, at least a little bit. He said he nearly lost it trying to set pole and considered it a lucky result, and going by my amateur reading of body language, he seemed totally sincere. How can you hate a guy who gives this sort of respect to his competitors even while the world is blowing smoke up his arse?

Real shame about Crutchlow. I reckon Daryl Beattie, who criticised Crutchlow's appointment, has had a rethink. And what's with Beattie and the dismissal of collarbone injuries? He said Crutchlow may get it plated tonight and race, and if I recall he said something similar about Pedro's injury.

you boners are so funny..... if casey was below 2nd we wouldnt see any of you..... well the real fans like j4rno , michaelM , keshav and frizzle would still be here sorry if i missed anyone else.... the rest of you are ......s, oh and btw dont mock to much cos of the karma thing.
<

anyway i have missed every session as i couldnt get out of bed intime, so time to catch up.

when i watch the replays if i here any shoulder talk il get the bus to silverstone and stamp on rossi's knee.....

oh and gloat all you like barry cos your still a delusional prick.... have a nice day

rossi and jb work so far is paying off for everyone other than shoulder boy

Officials are still investigating an apparent break in at the Ducati pits.

In an apparent Terror Act, criminals have sabotaged both of Valentino Rossi's racing motorcycles.

The terrorists struck early Saturday morning, as explained by MotoGp president Carmelo Ezpeleta. "Mr. Rossi reports that he and his partner Uccio were interrupted by noises coming from the garage area. Upon investigation, they spotted several unauthorized persons in the Ducati pits. When confronted, the perpetrators fled, leaving only an empty bottle of rum and a 12mm wrench at the scene."

"Thosa .......s musta done someething to my bikes!" Seethed the 8 time champion. "Now I Canna ween da race!"

Several terrorists, disguised as harmless drunken race fans, were see suspiciously loitering in the area late Friday night.

Officials have singled out this man as the probable leader of the cell, and are actively searching for him. This man appears to me of Mexican descent, but his strong British accent suggests he has been living surreptitiously in the UK for some years. Fans are urged to report any sightings of this terrorist to the authorities immediately.

Just got to Darwin. Check QP on iPhone and couldn't believe Rossi time and position. Just think, he will earn nearly 1 million euro this weekend and abraham will earn probably 10,000 euro.

LOL! hopefully he keeps the classy digs on so they can catch him haha

Someone mentioned earlier about some kind of protection in the suits for collar bones and I admit I've been thinking along the same lines myself since Pedro's injury.

What about something like a flexible strip of material across the shoulders that won't compress? An exo-skeleton type of thing? More padding? It just seems like we have one-size-fits-all leathers, while guys like Pedrosa might benefit from more protection in crucial areas. They probably all could. Just a shame to see the field decimated like this.

Anyway, not an engineer.... just had a few scotches and gots to typin'.

Stoner -- it is like a 2007deja vu, only better. Riding that Ducati may have been a good tough school for him, now everything must seem so much easier on the Honda. The way he he was using the curb at the apex of the last corner was amazing. And Sic was the only other rider doing it (almost) like him.
cool.gif

Rossi -- it's certainly a very bad weekend for Valentino. But as I wasn't overwhelmed by his 'good weekend' at Catalunya, I'm hardly shocked by this bad one. He'll do better in the upcoming races.

Lorenzo and Spies confirm Yamaha's progress we saw in the last race. Lorenzo isn't going to give up, now it's the time for him to put up a fight.

Hayden, not so bad. The test mule role was taken by his teammate this time.
wink.gif

Abraham -- very good. He is the only Ducati left with those winglets -- maybe at Silverstone they do help?
huh.gif

Pity for Crutchlow. Bridgestones are evil when cold!

After further investigation it appears Haydens bike had all the missing upgrades from Rossi's whip.

Stoner is good, no doubt, but he enjoys years of development by other riders that brought the Honda to the level it is in today. Put any rider on the grid on this bike and they will all be within 0,1 second of Stoner pace.

Codos to Vale, to pick up the Ducati at the poor condition where Stoner has left its development.... lots of work to do, and only Rossi can do it.

Boppers, you gotta love em. I dont even know where to start. Basically, every thing past the first five words is from a parallel universe. They wonder why we mock them.

+1 Cal was doing awesome this year. Must have hit his head pretty good because they are holing off on the operation until he is in better shape. Hoping he can bounce back at Assen.
