Stop being a punani and come out this year. See Casey fly around unhampered by .... weather.

Punani?
<
Yeah I really want to check that out in Hawaii for a week before hitting the States. Its all planned out and ready to be booked for next year. I cant be selfish and take off now without the family, but dont worry we'll all be there next year and hopefully the bonus will be fit healthy AMA MX riders to go see as well.

Is a Punani what happens after a Mexican wave? Cos if Jumkie waved at me I'd feel a punani coming on.

While that may be ideal I'm not sure how well it would work or if other tire companies are even up to the task. Dorna and Capi didn't come up with the tires, they let BS do that and the riders were allowed to decide what tires they wanted by vote. Don't forget the old tires were a major source of complaint by the riders. Over on GP one they have Rossi saying the crashes by Duc were due to track conditions and that it wasn't because of the bike or the new tires. I didn't see all of todays action but did the two guys who were against the new tires get eaten up by the track?

People vote for all sorts of things, including presidents and prime ministers, that don't end up being in their best interests. That they voted for one compound of the tyres after testing them briefly at one track doesn't mean they were correct; stoner actually said they would be found out when used seriously, and he knows a thing or two about tyres not working on a motogp bike. At the time the choice was made, if I had been a motogp rider, particularly if named jorge lorenzo, I would have voted for the tyre stoner didn't want as well
<
.

Someone has quoted pedrosa as complaining about the tyres this week-end and intimating that they are designed to slow down the hondas and help the crts, which if there is any contrivance involved would seem the likely motives to me as well; I don't think they are trying to stop stoner or help rossi primarily, although stoner not winning is a bonus as he is not good box office for them.

In any case, my objection is not to the new tyre but only allowing one variety of it, and ceasing supply of the old one. Bridgestone have obviously already incurred the expense of developing both the old tyre and the stoner/pedrosa preferred version of the new tyre, so why can't they be supplied? Both michelin and bridgestone were prepared to continue in a tyre war situation and were opposed to the control tyre when it was mandated, or said they were anyway, btw.

Hard to argue with rossi if he said it was down to the track but maybe he is being diplomatic or saving face if he supported the new tyre, but both incidents occurred on hot laps when the tyres should have been warmed up, and looked like sudden loses due to tyres letting go (as has been traditional for ducati since 2010 on the old tyres as you pointed out earlier) rather than like when stoner hit the now apparently non-imaginary bump last year which resulted in a massive tank slapper rather than the bike instantly going down.

I post saying Rossi has not got it right and you reply with posting what he may have gotten wrong?

Whats your point?

Everyone hit the bumps ...... was it a mobile bump? that aimed itself at Rossi ?

<
<
<

You also said it was the new tire. I showed that he's been caught out by that bump before and had the same exact result while on the old tire. Hence you are making .... up as usual. If you just wanted to say he made a mistake or lacked skill i wouldn't care, but had to call you out on the BS part.

well played.

Take a shot at VR if u must, but watch urself with NH my friend.

Jums, all good with Nicky.

As we know, a #2 riders job is to follow the example set by the team lead rider isnt it
<

And by the way, good to see that some people picked up on the reference

Mike, with all do respect my friend, u seem a bit obsessed with tires this event. Ur dangerously flirting in crazyman territory. They didnt all sit in a room and wait to see how Stoner "voted" to then "vote" the opposite for whatever reason ur trying to imply.

What about the .... conditions dont u assign to the incidents? Cal crashed last year, and this year, different tires, similar .... conditions. Rossi crashed last year and this year, different tires, similar .... conditions. The conditions are ....! That means any tiny mistake or bike issue/weakness gets amplified. Out of curiosity, did u watch moto2? How do u explain those crashes? Are they sneaking in 2013 Bridgestones on those bikes? What possible explanation then for those crashes? Again, i pose the question: what TIRES on earth are designed for these conditions? What TIRES on earth are desgined to act like some kind of electronic rider aide to AVOID CRASHING IN .... CONDITIONS?

I suppose if Casey wanted his 07 spec tires back we should give them to him? And lets allow everybody to pick whatever year tires they want as long as it has a Bridgestone logo, right? All the riders, or should i say more importantly, Casey complained about last years tires. They changed them. Now its some kind of conspiracy because they have changed them and dont want to give him those back (tires which had been deemed dangerous)? Pedro implying conspiracy and u repeating it is a strange alliance that screams a not so subtle attempt to advance an apology for Stoner's lack of figuring out how to solve chatter. But yet he said much of it had been fixed with a $2 part. Why cite Pedro and ignore what Stoner has said about what he had previously believed was causing chatter? This tire argument reminds me of Rossis shoulder, it seems to ebb and flow with each event totally dependent on Stoners performance. At the start of the season a certain group of fans were sure it was the tire that impeded Stoner from a season opener win. He told us it was arm pump. But some insisted it must be the tires. Comparing rider votes to political votes? Brotha, are u kidding me? Then to imply the only two riders who can evaluate the the new tires properly is Stoner? Again, HRC riders have made wins and podiums every race. Pedro's assertion (and u repeating it to pad ur argument instead of ridiculing it) that the new tire is an attempt to slow down Honda is on its face a ludicrous statement by a spineless whining little ..... It bares no evidence in the reality of the podium visitors so far. And its failed to help Ducati. So we can file Pedros assertion under S for shitcan. There was a few events ago where i thought this fabricated conspiracy had been buried, but alas it lives again.

Thanks for the pick me up Arrabi. Despite my verbal outburst during qual, I would still have loved to be there with you guys freezing my balls off. But seriously though, you guys need to do something about this Brit curse. Kill a ....... chicken and throw the blood on Cal while praying to the racing gods man. This .... is ridiculous.

Might start choking the chicken before every race

I would make the same vote but this is why people like me think CS's typical statements and now the latest from Pedro are bad for the sport. It brings rise to these silly conspiracies as if the entire grid had a secret meeting to slow down CS because he is bad for the show or to fast. Well it looks like they failed miserably because when the weather has cooperated he's still been the fastest man on the grid. The guy is moaning while winning, I don't get why he's such a crybaby. Pedro is equally as guilty to say the tires are dangerous, well where are the crashes and bad results? CS's worst result of the season was his own fault and this time he decided to try the soft tires, but I'm not seeing where the tires have made him slower. I do think he's starting to get it now though, he said he didn't want to talk about the tires anymore because he didn't want to make it an excuse. I think his previous attitude towards practice has hurt him more than anything this season because he's been unprepared for the changing track conditions brought on by the weather. You guys(his fans) are just used to seeing him winning so much that when he isn't it has to be because of something else, not the competition doing better, or even him being unprepared for the changing track conditions, everyone is out to get him right.

Do you need 2 seconds to reconsider that ???

Again, why only 1 variety of the tyre when 2 had been developed? Stoner made no complaint about the tyre being chosen or conspiracies concerning this to my knowledge other than saying he thought the choice was wrong btw, it was honda and now apparently pedrosa who have done so. He did complain about the bike weight being changed over a year after the regulations were promulgated and after more than a year's development, as did honda (not unreasonably imo), and dorna have tacitly admitted this was to help their hastily conceived crt bikes.

What is wrong about alleging a tyre conspiracy, btw? It is not as though this has never happened before in motogp
<
. It is not as though no other rider in the field has ever complained about tyres either, but if stoner does so he is apparently whinging; I presume when valentino vociferously and repeatedly did so in 2007 having previously had nothing but the best tyres for his entire premier class career he was just reasonably and understandably pointing out the obvious truth, as were ducati last year.

My argument is against the control tyre which I have been entirely consistent in opposing from the start, as you have been in supporting. I present ducati post 2008, kawasaki and suzuki in support of my argument. Please list your evidence in favour of it having been a good thing. I also don't recall stoner complaining about tyres last year, or prior to that about bridgestone tyres at all ; he obviously did complain about the remainder bin michelins with which the lcr honda was equipped in 2006. Last year iirc his complaint concerned riders pushing too hard early on the tyres rather than the tyres themselves.

My argument on this year's tyre is an extension of my philosophy on the control tyre, in that I think teams/factories having to engineer their bikes to suit tyres, particularly if the tyre can be changed capriciously at short notice, is erroneous and certainly not cost reducing. I have no objection to jorge or valentino or whomever having whatever tyres they want, as I didn't if you recall to valentino changing to bridgestone in 2008, my objection is to the choices of others (particularly stoner obviously from my personal viewpoint) being limited. I am not saying stoner should be given back his 2007 tyre, but again I don't see why the 2011 tyre which was OK for the first 5 races needed to be precipitately withdrawn, or why the alternate variety of the new tyre having been developed couldn't be produced along with the other variety, with both available to all riders if they so chose.

I may be wrong, but both hayden's and rossi's loses looked tyre related loses to me, both occurred in the middle of stints and hayden's in particular at a time when conditions were at their fastest (and hence presumably best) for the week-end. As I said in a previous post, these loses didn't look at all like stoner's tankslapper last year, concerning which oddly mostly the same people (I don't include you) attributing nicky and valentino's loses to the track argued that the bump allegedly involved was in stoner's imagination. I can accept that you have to hit a bump at the right angle to cause a problem on one lap and not another (I am obliged to as I agreed with this argument in relation to the stoner tankslapper last year
<
) but nicky and valentino managing to both do it when nobody else in the motogp field did stretches the bounds of coincidence, for me anyway.

For me this is mainly about dorna being incompetent and arbitrary, and has nothing to do with jorge; it is what it is and if he can ride the same tyre better than stoner good luck to him. If jorge wins this year it will be richly deserved and attributable to him being better and more versatile than stoner, which as I have said just at the moment it looks as though he may well be.

Btw, by your argument there may actually have been nothing wrong with last year's tyres, as incidents last year mostly also involved cold temperatures, and newly laid tracks to boot. You were also fairly critical about stoner complaining about the track conditions (rather than the tyres) at indy.

Gee Rog. you are a world class wit.

Keep it up and you can help Arab. with the toilet door ditties

Bestiality is a crime in the uk, i guess its ok in Australia just as long as you piss on it first. You are a very weird bloke and would be on "The register" in the uk for sure.

He is well past his best - should have gone to WSBK or AMA years ago. What is it, 8 podiums in the last 5 years?

He's into his 11th year in MotoGP - he has had 3 wins in that time.

Why does he bother?

One of the most overrated racers of the last decade.
