I was at Becketts today and I smelled some 'fragrant' smoke and wondered if that was you. Couldn't really tell where it was coming from though.

If it was round the back in the sunshine getting our core temps back up then quite possibly.

I did mean to PM you my number but my days before setting off went to .... and ended up with a mass workload that had to be done.

Man it was fcuking cold in that grandstand wasn't it!?

Oh god yeah. It was like that when I watched the F1 there this year too. Definitely lives up to your name of Shiverstone. Seems to be worse at Becketts than anywhere else, but that view is worth chattering teeth for.

Ah well, maybe we can meet up next year.

Quit ur crying about the cold, 2011 was 50 below zero and worse when u factored in the wind chill factor. That didnt stop Pete from walking around in shorts and a tshirt though. Not sure he thought it was even mildly fresh.

You can shut your pansy mouth.

IIRC you were sat on the inter pit straight!

Crying about the cold wind on your back then going back to a nice warm house and mod cons!!

We camped!!! Then you would have felt like Scott of the bleeding antartica!

And the wind in your face is ten times worse!

Youre welcome to try any of the above, just let me know when you fly in ;)

I didn't know you expected a reply!

The txt asked me to say hi to everyone for you which I promptly did.

I see they're doing away with roving grandstands next year. You have to pick a stand and stick with it. Not sure if I'm going to do Becketts again. Or maybe Woodcote/Luffield. Watched the WUP at Luffield and tis a good spot. Less windchill too. :D

One of the best things I loved about Shivertone (apart from the 1000 other things I loved about the trips) have been this roving grandstand thing.  Best .... ever.  Why get rid of it, if people love it?

I suspect a lot of peeps will now go GA,

The stands will look empty and the roving will be back 2015

Or should I say that is what I hope to happen.

I agree with Jumks it was the best value ticket of any GP I have attended, shame to see it go!

My question is how exactly does one-ticket one-seat improve the fan experience after they have made a progressive break-through and fantastic improvement in track experience model? They are absolutely going backwards. I was hoping Silverstone would continue to be a world leader in this regard. I never saw a soul fighting for a seat, and everyone was content to have first come first serve on race day. And its not like rich self-entitled ...... ..... were prevented access to the best seats as they always buy VIP village anyway. There are no VIP box seats in the stands (like we do for some venues seen at newer stadiums here in the States). There were a few srands that were reserved for specific ticket holders, and those were always empty because limp dicks who buy those exclusive packages are the type of homos that only come on raceday, watch only one race then go home.

Fully agree. The only reason I can think of is a couple of times I experienced people giving .... to the ushers (or whatever you want to call them) because they arrived at a popular stand like Luffield or Becketts about 6 seconds before event start and couldn't find a seat instead of just quietly realising it's their fault for not coming sooner and slinking off to a less popular stand like a reasonable human being.

I saw it happen twice, so it probably happened a shitload more than that and maybe the ushers kicked off.

Really annoying though as I love the ad hoc feeling of deciding where to go and sit, and also experiencing different views. This year, I watched WUPs and Moto3 at Luffield Moto2 at Copse and GP at Becketts.

Ah well, hope it backfires on them next year and they open up roving again.

I wouldnt be surprised if it was some Dorna imposed control freak .........

Fortunately BT Vision will do that job for them.

The numbers boycotting have been immense, even my buddy's into footie big time have said fcuk BT.

I expect mgp.com vid passes to go through the roof now or compulsory split screen bollocks at 50% more.

Were fcuked each way we turn! ;)
