Sepang test times

just goes to show without stoner there, the honda IS the best bike. just like it has been for over a decade. nothing has changed other than ducati in 2007 has a "genius" of a rider

I'm sure that Ducati's engineering team would have something to say about that.

I wonder what Stoner meant after Valencia, when he said Ducati were losing the advantage they had at the beginning of the season... They are not losing Stoner, - who no doubt has been a key of their success - so which other advantage are they losing if they didn't have any other...

Am I correct in my impression that the lap times in these Sepang tests are not that fast? 2.02 - 2.03 but I seem to remember fast laps like 2.01 in the race here...

Everyone except West is on a new bike, getting familiar with the machine doesn't equal fast laps

Livio Suppo called Casey a genius many times this year

That'd be great. Just to get another couple of guys that can regularly win races would spice things up alright. Hopper and Melandri gotta be candidates.

I dislike Hopper but this would be excellent. I wish him the best.

Test times Sepang Day 3:

01 - Nicky Hayden - Honda RC212V - 2'00"592
02 - Colin Edwards - Yamaha YZR M1 '07 - 2'01"811
03 - John Hopkins - Kawasaki ZX-RR - 2'02"047
04 - Andrea Dovizioso - Honda RC212V - 2'02"128
05 - Chris Vermeulen - Suzuki GSV-R '08 - 2'02"447
06 - Loris Capirossi - Suzuki GSV-R '08 - 2'02"587
07 - Jorge Lorenzo - Yamaha YZR M1 '08 - 2'02"643
08 - Anthony West - Kawasaki ZX-RR - 2'02"659
09 - Randy de Puniet - Honda RC212V - 2'02"700
10 - James Toseland - Yamaha YZR M1 '07 - 2'03"550

Hayden used quali tyres, the time is really good anyway. he did it with the 2007 bike.
Edwards... well! Quali tyres for him too?
Hopkins and Dovi... They look good, are going to be strong.
Verme and Capi testing setups, not going for lap times apparently.
Lorenzo... hmmm.
West, Puniet... double hmmm.
Toseland... give him time.

Dovizioso was interviewed by an Italian daily and he said again that these MotoGP bikes are much easier to manage than the 250s, thanks to their excellent TC! He said the only area that is really difficult coming from 250 is the hard braking getting into the curves. He said he's not yet learned it, - he already laps pretty fast though! Lorenzo also declared he has problems with braking.

this is the 08 bike you cannot say its the same as the 07 bike, its got to be better.

JT keeps on improving leaps and bounds every time he gets on the bike.

His place on the board doesn't give justice to the job he's doing, considering all factors.

Lorenzo used a Q tyre also, on corrected time he was only .5 faster than JT.
