This is a link to a lot of the crashes.

FYI, its a FREE video on motogp.com

That Nicky highside and subsequent hit on Canepa is extraordinarily uncanny. Elias’ looks like he mite have alternate career as a bull rider.

Curious question, when Melandri goes down, where do they get the parts from? Kawker has stopped all support, so are these parts they had already laying around?

I think we need a "Photo fun with Nicky" thread after this one.

That's the first time I have seen Nicky's crash at full speed. Looking at the vid, it is a miracle neither of them were killed, Canepa in particular. Nick gave him a huge shot to the neck and then Canepa got whiplashed hard when he went down.

The carnage in the 800cc class is becoming more troubling. Even with the control tire, riders are still high siding at an alarming rate. The 500s were scary enough and those bikes (tires) weren't capable of the cornerspeeds we see today.

Something has got to be done before someone gets killed. The MSMA have responded to an accident at an unsafe track, with an unsafe, budget busting formula. The more electronic gadgets they put on the bike, the more spectacular the accident when they fail.

The 800cc formula must be one of the worst sanctioning decisions in the history of international competition. Nevermind that MotoGP is running out of bikes, MotoGP is running out of riders.

The way I understand it, Kawasaki is still cranking out replacement parts that hayate requests, as such parts are/were already allocated in the racing budget (along with travel and labor). The money that was allocated to R&D was the part that was axed.

im glad canepa and nicky had no serious injury and yes it was very uncanny... what we have to be thankful for is that nicky didnt break his neck/back and canepa didnt break some ribs.... seriously nicky is lucky that he hit canepa flat with the bottom of his back/butt area, that sorta crash with maybe a slight angle change could have been very serious if not fatal.

thankfully this didnt happen... it wasnt anyones fault just one of them things that happen when your trying to find the limit.

looking forward to the race

yep you gotta love the guys attitude he gives 100% every single time.

honda shat on him and he never gave up... he moved to ducati and has given 100% since he got on the bike... he gets setbacks and still ploughs forward ... he gets bad luck and thinks lets try again anotherday.

an attitude every rider should have.

Isn't it refreshing to see in a world where premadonnas and stuck ups that think things should just be given to them freely someone like Nicky still works tirelessly at trying to be the best? I think things are looking up for him and if you look at his progress we should by his stats see him on that podium soon.

True Jaz. I was looking at the clip, man, he could have got impaled by the back of Canepa's bike. Or Canepa seriously injured by the Ducati tumbling around him. Good thing they are both reasonably ok.

More than a Woman</u>

Oh, Case I need you very much
I've seen you riding everyday
the way you move that big red duck
always takes my breath away.

Suddenly you cross the line
beaten again its true
you know I’ll be there when you have a cry
keep the big bad wog…. (flu!Anemia?) from you.

Here in your arms I found my paradise
my Stoner shirts are all stained
could you get me more I need one tonight

Oh say you'll always let me suck it
I can make it shine, we can be forever
now just take me from behind.

Sing it with me boys!!

More than a woman, OH Caseey more than a woman to Pinky……da,da…..da,da,der
more than a woman, OH Caseey more than a woman to Pinky……da,da…..da,da,der
more than a woman, oh, oh, oh.

Racers they can be so rough
I like it that way too
And I know Laguna ...... you up
So I still flog to 07 clips on youtube.

Reflecting on how fast you ride (me)
Mastering the horsepower
the way you make that monster slide
And just punish it for many hours.

Straight line speed is the way to win
this is the only way to go
so get the men in red to dial it in.

Then you'll smack the field again
by 20 secs each time, then I can abuse the .... out of
those pricks on Powerslide…..!

All together now!!

More than a woman, OH Caseey more than a woman to Pinky……da,da…..da,da,der
more than a woman, OH Caseey more than a woman to Pinky……da,da…..da,da,der

Lex you are actually blaming the 800cc model for the crashes today? Everyone of them was because of standing water on the track and guys pushing at the limit of traction for the top spot. They found the limit and that is their job. The guys that went over crashed. Rossi was WAY faster than anyone and he didn't crash. His limit was higher and he was riding the same 800cc machine.

That Hayden Canepa crash is one of the worst I have ever seen.
The amount of force from Nicky's back hitting Canepa's bike is tremendous.
I can't believe those 2 walked away. They should not be riding on this track
next year unless improvements are made to make it safer.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE <div class='quotemain'>A torrential rainstorm produced huge sections of standing water on the track and made for an accident-strewn session in which no fewer than nine riders crashed out (crash.net)
Where the hell were the safety directors? Idiots.

Anyway, I didn't know Nicky had went out on qual using his spare bike:

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE <div class='quotemain'>Nicky Hayden claimed a 2009 best of fourth on the grid for Sunday's German Grand Prix - on his spare bike and despite a dramatic mid-air collision with fellow Ducati rider Niccolo Canepa.

Hayden, also fourth in the dry morning practice, was left 17th and last due to a gearbox problem early in the soaking wet qualifying session, forcing a switch to his second bike.

“I went out on the first bike and immediately something happened to the gearbox going into turn one and I almost went down. It was stuck in second gear so I had to ride it all the way back to the pits like that.

“I didn't feel as comfortable on my second bike but I knew that was all I had to work with for the rest of the session so I was a little tentative.

I hope Niccolo is okay too because it was my fault. (crash.net)

Had this been Danny, I'm sure Puig would have blamed Canepa.
