Rossi vs. Stoner (not a troll thread, promise...)

Deal, you keep those yellow blinders on and i will leave them off.:p

So you have me down as a blind starstruck fan do you? Are people not allowed a different opinion than yours? I follow GP and yes Rossi is one of my favourite riders, so is Dani (hence my dogs name), I also think Lorenzo is a fantastically skilled bloke on the track, and Casey should be there too ! So what exactly is your point about yellow blinders, apart from it conveniently explains a differing view than yours.

Stoner started MotoGP as a satellite rider on second tier Michelin tyres I believe.
Rossi went in onto a factory NSR (the Yamaha M1 of its time) and top tier tyres. He has never seen a satellite bike in the premier class.
I don't suppose you'd be keen to put up a head to head comparison whilst both were on factory machines?

i thought rossi's 2001 win was on a satellite nsr?

From memory only, it was a satellite team running full factory equivalent and with full factory support (including the factory technicians such as JB etc)

In essence, it was a full factory effort wrapped in Nastro Azzura liverage (the only thing satellite was the no factory liverage)

And add to that, it was a carte blanche blank check. The project required Burgess to sign on. That should give anybody who understands the significance of that requirement an understanding of the status of that team.

Believe what you want to believe. But it was widely known that Rossi didn't want Stoner to ride for Yamaha. Hence he is a coward in my book.

You didn't see Lorenzo veto'ing his return, nor Stoner vetoing any team mates at Ducati or Honda. That is a fact.

Where is your evidence other than a like forum full of faceless Rossi despisers? It so happened VR and Colin got along great, why bring in the miserable Stoner.

GTFO with your ........ all the time.

Back in 2007 or thereabouts I dubbed the Nastro Azzurro Honda as a quasi, as in bloody near, factory bike, to which some one replied succinctly that it was a non-factory Burgess bike. Iirc Burgess and the whole crew were Honda employees, and it seems likely it was very adequately resourced, but not that I have ever heard to a greater extent than the official factory bikes, and that HRC apparently followed Criville and his crew's direction initially has always been said to have been the problem in the first part of the season. Very impressive rookie season whatever the bike, particularly on a 500, anyway.

Not at all a bike that was a satellite bike in the sense the LCR Honda was however; it was LCR's rookie season as well apart from anything else, and we have recently re-discussed the Michelin tyre issues to death.

Haha, ah man, talk about sticking your yellow foot in mouth. Colin Edwards is on record advocating for Yamaha to sign Stoner. So was Burgess. The only one who didn't was chickenshit Rossi.

#thegrandfinale

The Alaskan wilderness is a lonely place.

Fixed, what a ....... nightmare that would be. I seriously cant wait till GP is freed from the shackles of Rossi, it will be a glorious day for everyone except Carmelo and his lackeys.

Be patient gramps, he's 37. Vale loves you.

Oh look, the forum schizoid looking to increase outrageous post count. I don't care what Colin or Burgess said, your article only quote was 'I think Stoner should stay where he is.' I know Rossi has hi-jacked you and the vile JPS lives. Who'd want the miserable Stoner as a teammate anyway? One of the best riders ever and same time biggest crybaby ever. This is my memory of Casey Stoner, miserable just like you your lackeys here. GTFO with your bs

It's in the same place all your evidence supporting Rossi allegations are. Factory MotoGP teams aren't about the riders being mates, they are about winning.

You really have an eloquent way with words don't you?

Why did they sign Jorge then in 2008? Weren't Vale and Colin dancing around Yamaha's rose filled garden then.
It's quite simple, they'd spotted someone younger, with more raw talent and speed than their current no1.

I have always thought VR may have been equivocating about retiring, he was always talking of F1, WRC etc, and perhaps because of the tax problems, or not being really serious in the first place, changed his mind after Yamaha had taken him at his word.

I have never heard anything about them offering Jorge more than Valentino in 2010, which would be a different matter, but if it was equal treatment of a rider 8 or 9 years younger than him who had just won a world championship for Yamaha which offended him then the problem was his.

Agreed, that's the gist that most Rossi fans are unable/unwilling to grasp. Rossi has never wanted to compete against anyone on an equal footing.
I wonder why a chart showing Rossi vs Lorenzo head to head hasn't been produced. Apart from Lorenzo's rookie season where he struggled getting to grips with a massively different bike, he did OK against his more experienced team mate.
Dare I say it, had Marquez gone through 250s instead of moto2, he might've needed an acclimation season too.

I'm guessing it's because there's much more talk of Stoner being a candidate for GOAT, whereas I haven't seen many people putting Lorenzo quite into that same regard.

Thats because Stoner is the GOAT. Nobody else compares. Only the boppers have the lack of sense to even bother denying it.
