ROSSI THREATENS WITHDRAW

There is unfortunately an easy solution to all this.

Lorenzo "supports" Rossi for his "deserved" 8th/10th title, VR retires amicably, and Jorge is free to go forward with Yamaha.

It is almost enough to make me a Marquez fan.

Put yourself in Lorenzo's shoes matey. Would you trust Rossi not to receive his title and then have "an unexpected change of heart", using his 10 title status to oust Lorenzo from the team anyway.
Valentino demands loyalty and respect from everyone, but he doesn't exactly show much of either to anyone.

dont know but i dont think he was serious about that one, specially since the future of these ppl are gonna be decided before the outcome of the championship (probably), and i seriously dont think there is gonna be anything amicable between them, even if they somehow miraculously decide to act like grown ups and calm thing down, the media wont allow it, everything that happens between them in every single session no matter what is gonna be under scrutiny and gonna have some sort of stupid meaning, and one wrong answer is enough to get things going (for media i mean).

If Yamaha side with a just turned 37 year old they need their ....... heads checking. Valley needs to give it a ....... rest now, this is probably the most undignified closing of a sportsmans career I've ever seen. The only championship he's likely to win at the moment is one for whinging.

Sad thing is that the overwhelming majority of his fans don't see anything wrong with his whining, and feel it is perfectly justified, and even dignified for that matter.

Had this been any other rider, the media pieces would have excoriated him mercilessly. That however has not been the case here.

If the current reining World Champion demanded this he'd be crucified.

Double standards in play as usual.

I'm sure those two sacks of .... known as Gardner and Read think Rossi's threats are indicative of his true upstanding moral character.

Just wait till he gets into any semblance of a battle with Marc Marquez this year.

He'll probably be throwing a spike strip out at MM.

If you notice, when Rossi says "renew" his contract, what he means to say is it must be a 2 year deal. That's why he wants to be in there first, to negotiate the terms, probably trying to put in a clause to veto Lorenzo for 17, or make it more difficult for Yamaha to pay whatever Lorenzo will ask for in compensation. Rossi does not want a one year deal. 2 or nothing, but to get that Yamaha see nothing but problems for 2 years, and when it comes to negotiating with Lorenzo AFTER Rossi, the prospect of having both will reduce their desire to accept Lorenzo's demands at that point.

VR will get his tenth, one way or the other. Rossi knows with Lorenzo at Yamaha it would be very difficult. He's saw what Lorenzo did at the Sepang test. He sees Honda struggling. Pedrosa is a spent force (if it ever was). VR is looking to get his next title through attrition, not actually trying to compete for it.

Lorenzo being signed first by Yamaha is going to be the only thing that stops Rossi from getting his 10th title for certain.

Though I would keep an eye on Marc Marquez at this point since it's looking like HRC found a bit in the bike's electronics at the Phillip Island test yesterday. We'll see where things stand after today, and then what the Losail test looks like.

Yamaha pays €4 million to their rider that wins the championship.
Pays 0 for second place.

If you think Lorenzo will hand the championship to Rossi, think again.

Is that a bonus besides their normal salary? Can you imagine how tall those walls would be in the garages between team mates if that was standard i.e. the better of you gets $4m the other nothing.

When I read the 'solution' that Jorge should just give Rossi the title so that he retires and we can get rid of him I had images in my mind of Jorge leading the whole race with VR way behind and then on the last lap ride slowly to let VR catch up and then wave him by. That would be soooo embarassing for VR that I actually like that idea

I hope you're right Shovs. Because I think VR can turn the screws; 4 mil in Lorenzo's pockets doesn't compare to the possible 10s mils Dorna Yamaha stand to lose when the Yellow Army are told VR is being disrespected, abandoned, and thrown to the curb from Rossi's tweeter.

Wow this forum is so funny (i think it's a select bunch of professional trolls/haters)

Situation:
Yamaha says they will renew 1 of the 2 riders, do we know any details? Does it mean the other needs to go? In my opinion it does sound like Yamaha is in front of a fork and needs to make a choice.

Rossi just said that if they do opt to go for Lorenzo, he'll retire after 2016 which is the end of the season that is starting. What is the big deal? If yamaha takes that call, it means they are investing in Lorenzo future (and they would be right) but that also means that there probably won't be equality in the paddock and Rossi is no ones 2nd rider.

If anything he shows his colors upfront.

I don't get why you all got your panties in a bunch.. lol

Context.

Yamaha should grow a pair. Rossi should have been sacked last year with what happened.

He should retire, and Yamaha should give someone else a go and free the sport of the bitter number 46......real bike fans will still go watch

This guy is like Keshav* the .... that comes out of this guy's mouth never ends.

(*SE)

The relationship has broken down at Yamaha thanks to Rossi. Valentino is trying to push Lorenzo out! If Lorenzo is muscled out thanks to the considerable chickenshit influence of Rossi, we might as well give VR the trophy, let him claim his 10th "title" and hope he leaves after that. How much can one man wreck something...

Valentino Rossi amenaza con la retirada de Yamaha

Random website which never sends journalists to races gets scoop?

Let's hope it's as accurate as this:

El casting de pilotos en Honda para tapar la salida de Mrquez

Tito Rabat as one of the riders being approached by Honda to replace Marc Marquez.

Reminds me of how senna singlehandedly ruined F1 with the same arrogant petulant attitude.
I haven't watched or attended any F1 races since then.
The only rider who keeps me watching this is Lorenzo.

Otherwise I am happy watching mere mortals, like watching people play softball in the park, a bar blues band or amateurs racing on Sunday.

Thanks for the insight Krops.

That link to the article you post doesn't say Honda are looking to replace Marquez, but rather they speculate with all the trouble the bike has experienced, should Marquez consider leaving there is a cast of riders that could replace him: Maverick Viñalez, Alex Rins, and Tito Robat.

Regarding Rossi, shady source or not, do you think VR is using his considerable influence to keep Lorenzo as his teammate?
