Rossi Takes Pole at Catalunya

A

Alex

Rossi has just taken pole position ahead of the race tommorow at Catalunya. Can't remember who finished beyond him as I was half watching it and half on the computer so hey.

Pedrosa down in 11th, Hayden also down. What's going on with the Repsol Honda guys this weekend?

Pedrosa's fast lap was crap because of traffic, his race pace is good, though not as good as Rossi's.

I'm expecting the Bstone guys to go backwards tomorrow.

Its hard to say if Pedrosa would have done better..did anyone see the onboard of "Mr. Personality" punching his tank??..but Roberts actually was in his way. Rossi feeling confident and breaking records....very cool....

So just like every other weekend, eh?

Michelins make Bridgestone bikes look like they`re standing still.... unless that bike is blood red with an insane gerriatric italian on the back of it.

Must be frustrating for Pedrosa, not a good start to the weekend. Either he`s gonna go hell for leather, carve through the pack and end up on the podium, or get stuck in the middle. There`s only one man on the grid right now who I think is capable of winning races from the 4th row on the grid, and he`s on pole this time.

Just looked at the qualifying results. Rossi`s lap was a scorcher. I know it`s only Qualifying but that`s still damn fast. Who thinks he`s set to break his lap record from last year today? It`s shaping up to be a perfect weekend for Rossi... just like so many were last year.

chris did well ...

everyone else that i was expecting up high just crumbled ... pedders is under my curse ... 11th spot , haha told ya

Pedrosa is a hard character to say whether he's going to be the 'next Rossi' or not because he isn't as consistent as a lot of other riders, but then again; this is only his first year in Moto GP and he can only progress.

'The Doctor' is well & truly back, & unfortunately (for me), he is closing the gap on Loris. Nicky Hayden is sitting pretty at the top though, & with Nicky's consistent podium finishes, Rossi will have to go some to overtake him.

True but Hayden needs to start taking wins. If Rossi wins the remaining races and Hayden finishes second at each race, Rossi will have surpassed Hayden in six races time. There are ten rounds to go. The good news is Hayden has been strongest in the second half of the season every year he has been in the series.

good point! heres to the last & final step!

I've said this all along. It'll only take ONE RACE for the whole table to change, and that race was Catalunya were 3 of the contenders for Rossi's title broke bones and will be out for at least 1 race, maybe even 3+.

Loris MAY be back for the race after Assen, Marco should miss both at least and definately Gibernau.

The reports I've read have said Capirossi does not have any internal bleeding and hasn't reaggrevated his rib and mid section injuries from his fall at Phillip Island last year and is supposed to be ready for Assen. Melandri has a sore neck and dislocated collarbone, his is also supposed to be fit to race on Saturday. No one is saying they'll be at the front, but they'll be lined up on the grid. Gibbers is the only one out, but he may only miss Assen and ride at Donny.

As long as theyre finishing decently, and they`re still ahead of him on the points table, they`re not making Rossi`s life any easier.

As for Hayden..... bring on the Germany US back to back Rossi whupass session! Then with his new confidence, put the "HRC property" stamp on Motegi and show Rossi what it`s like to be Gibernau at Phillip Island! That effort combined with a string of seconds should see Nicky with the title this year.

Just as long as Rossi comes second, and Honda dominate for the sake of my fantasy team
