Rossi fans burn Marc Marquez dummy/apparel

Because a small minority of people start and the rest of the sheep follow

Your right, Must have been 2010 then I personally witnessed it. I stand corrected
I didn't make the last one at Donny.
there was also booing at Jorge at the bike show at the NEC in November 2010 while he was on stage with Stavros

They might have been booing Stavros lol worst commentating ever!!

Lol. You people are pathetic. This was a harmless campfire gag. None of you have ever had a few cocktails and lit something up at the campsite?
There's only two heroes committing this act and you fools talk like its a hundred thousand pitchfork wielding barbarians.
You would have thought this was hilarious if it was Stoner fans burning Vale, or Hayden fans burning the little Honduran.

I just figured this place out. Motogpforum is where Fox News Anchors go in their down time. I've never seen so many fake outrage stories. Michael M is old sour puss, Brit Hume. JPS is blustering bully, Bill Orielly. Jumkie is Geraldo Rivera, all mustache, no substance. 22 of course is Meghan Kelly. The only thing she's good for is .... to the face.
Vale is the Benghazi of this forum. A story wholly fabricated out of fear and anger to vilify their opponent.
Just like Fox News, you create a fake story about the impending doom of society. You get lunatics on the extreme right or left of the topic shouting at each other.
LOL. The real story is, if it wasn't for a blown engine most of you wouldn't be posting right now.
.... on your face fuckers, and if I ever see 22, I will make sure to .... in his eye

Yes we have:p;)

Hahaha Yeah I couldn't agree more!
Mind I watched at friends in Scotland this weekend and had to watch BT coverage, doesn't huwen or whatever his name is sound like Stavros?
Still a rossi .......... too.

Unfortunately not, they were showing the Jap last laps and it was cheers rossi overtakes boos for lorenzos overtakes, Easy to work out whom the culprits are in that situation.

I wonder why Rossi kept riding the bike for so long after the malfunction. It was almost as if he wanted oil to spill or something to happen. Or is this a little bit paranoid thinking?

Rossi knew and understood the gravity of the moment and appears to have used it for an intended purpose, lucky for the riders on track no oil was spilled and their lives were not put at risk...again.

Mike Scott, a motogp journalists who has been around several decades said of Rossi; people don't understand how ruthless and calculating is this man (paraphrasing). He was speaking of Rossi orchestrating the accusations and subsequent media blitz against Marquez and Lorenzo as a deflection of Rossi's own incompetence to compete on the track. This ploy has gone far beyond it's original intention, one of many affects has been to emboldened his brazen tactics. Once only a public arena of "mind games" a media created euphemism for Rossi being an ......., but now the tactics have become a real hazard for fellow competitors.

What you saw by Rossi mulling and loitering around the track with a blown engine was of the similar vein as Sepang last year, a MENTAL BREAKDOWN! The same type of mental breakdown that drove him to PHYSICALLY attack Marquez for crimes of clean racing; i suspect the pressure of Mugello also drove him to meander on the track hoping to lay down oil and cause a crash, perhaps of Lorenzo and Marquez, perhaps of some other innocent victim of his ruthless devices. Riding around not bothering to look back at the smoke, which I'm sure he was aware, afforded him that margin of culpability, which if you read around you can already see his fans taking up the 'you can't blame him for not seeing the smoke' apology.

The rules state that if a rider 'causes' a red flag then 'that" rider is prohibited to restart. That sounds clear enough, but us it? As you have seen from Sepang 15, the interpretation of rules can run the gambit, influenced by factors such as championship standings, popularity, and gravity of the situation. Consider the peculiar Mugello environment that everyone was privy to, making even "journalists" acutely aware, bodyguards for Marc and Lorenzo, where in that same press room these "journalists" avoided the Yellow Elephant, illustrated by asking the two Spaniards if they felt safe wilst not asking Rossi about his culpability in the situation. Really, how do these men consider themselves "journalists"?

It's Rossi's GP world, Mugello being his Yellow House, you think Race Direction would be influenced here? Given Race Direction were so easily willing to 'interpret' the rules so out of step with safety and common sense at Sepang?

Consider the cluster .... that is the "new" Race Direction this year, mishandling the jump start in Moto2 earlier this season, and look what happened just moments before the MotoGP Mugello race, the incompetence of the "new" Race Direction was on full display. Riders take note of this, no doubt Rossi noticed it. Consider if a rider or two crashes in the race after Rossi's engine blew, I could see Race Direction calling a red flag and 'interpreting' the 'crashed rider' "caused" the red flag, not Rossi. I have no faith in Race Direction, and frankly Rossi is aware of his massive influence, especially at Mugello.

I have no doubt Rossi was trying to cause a red flag, rolling the dice, forcing the incompetent hand of Race Direction. God know Rossi doesn't give a .... about rider safety.

Vales crankcase is filled with his superjizz and everyone knows .... is sticky not slippery so it only would have helped the other riders.
They should have let him restart Geraldo. Why should fat guys in suits make decisions that screw over fans, sponsors and tv networks

Blaming rossi for behavior of his fans is like blaming football clubs for hooligans... you just cant control them there will always be idiots. It is "herd" mentality making decisions based upon the actions of others. All you need is few people and whole crowd goes wild.

Welcome to the forum.

I have to disagree with your logic. Do these football clubs go around making baseless accusations then as an institution physically attack other clubs so "fans" can employ hooliganism to "display their passion"? Of course not.

This hooliganism we are witnessing is unique because it is a direct consequence of a single man's influence: Rossi accusing, then physically attacking, then holding press conferences to continue the narrative that Marc & Jorge are evil persons that conspired to rob Rossi of his rightful title. The media encouraged this hooliganism by also adopting the narrative that Marquez was a cheater (see BT coverage at Valencia) including having no robust fortitude to take Rossi to task for his culpability.

Contrast this to typical football hooliganism, often of a territorial natural, NOT encouraged by the clubs they support nor encouraged by the media.

Let's take this a step further, footballing federation (the equivalent of DORNA) robustly come out and speak against hooliganism and impose real consequence. Have you ever seen a soccer game played in an empty stadium? That is the commitment governing bodies have against poor fan behavior! Contrast that to DORNA. The CEO and most important voice of MotoGP (other than Rossi himself) just said, and I quote: "I DON'T CARE AT ALL ABOUT THE BOOING." Carmelo Ezpeleta (motorsport.com 18MAY2016)

Can you imagine a footballing federation saying publicly, we don't care at all about hooliganism.? So no, your analogy is inconsistent with the parallel we are witnessing in MotoGP, a sport where its competitors are risking life and limb. It has never been an acceptable part of this sport. And I suspect when Rossi retires, it will dissipate quickly...I hope. God knows the negative affects of Rossi may linger like a cancerous disease.

My new remit prevents me from entering into discussion about ridiculous theories about unprovable intent probably fuelled by hallucinogens. Instead I will keep shtum and quietly wee myself.

the problem is those dumb fks actually buy ticket and fill the seats, as far as dorna is concerned this whole thing is not doing them any harm financially. i do however think rossi would make some sort of statement to the line of his last one but htis time stressing it more maybe ( expecting it tobe anything like the one with iannone is imo wishful thinking).

there is another thing tho, and i know it might throw some people off here, but tbh before the 2016 season i thought these 3 would be so much worse during every session toward each other, but marquez has been very mature about it and doing his own thing, rossi has been so much better than i though too, of course they are gonna avoid each other in parc ferme, but he is actually minding his own business ,working on his weak areas ,... and generally avoid question that can led to conspiracy excluding his "balls" statement which work out in his favor anyway. ( and his form imo has been better than his last season)
on the other hand lorenzo is not helping, not criticizing him cuz he has valid reason to be upset, but this whole thing was about rossi and marquez in the first place anyway, yes lorenzo was mentioned but he couldve avoided almost everything by just being a little smart. (maybe he should hire a publicist and if he already has one replace him)
I hear you man, however Lorenzo was sucked in much more than Marquez in the aftermath, after all, Marquez is not the world champion. It is Lorenzo's championship that is being disparaged! When Rossi was saying Marquez was helping Lorenzo, he was saying Lorenzo is as much a cheater and his title is .....

Did Marquez have to suffer the disrespect and humiliation of his own employer canceling the celebrations of a hard fought championship? A feat for which Lorenzo put his life on the line and performed in a pressure cooker environment. Marquez had Honda supporting him, Lorenzo had the opposite experience. As far as Marquez is concerned, he can more easily dismiss Rossi's accusations, he's not the champ nor is dealing with an ONGOING hostile working environment!

Yamaha, Lin Jarvis, and Rossi himself are constantly a needle to Lorenzo. Also consider, Lorenzo is more acutely aware of mortality, who was speaking out against it wilst Marquez was attempting murder in the lower categories. Lorenzo has a far greater cause to be more offended by this situation and his reaction if any the has been astonishingly mild!

The disproportionate criticism of Lorenzo is fascinating.

How could anyone hate Boo? Her cuteness caused Sully to give up his scaring ways, and with Mike Wazowskis help, the 3 of them saved Monstropolis.
Boo is hero and her spirit lives on in Vale fans

I have heard from several top sources that this burning of Marc's "clothes" was symbolism for Marc leaving Rossi's apparel line. Calm down guys, nothing to see here...

Ah I see. Burning a fellow competitor in effigy, on what looks like a Salem gallow, a noose around the neck set on fire to a cheering crowd, was just a fashion statement. Got it buddy, thanks for the perspective. I think I was getting carried away then.

It was just "symbolism"....ah got it.

agreed on almost every point you made there. and ive mentioned he has every reason to be upset, as you so perfectly put it even more than marquez. but the guy is being affected by it and being annoyed, i think we had some sort of similar discussion last year about why the fk is he saying those things and getting himself involved (he wasnt the champion yet), he could avoid lots of these hostilities, after all in this matter he is facing a much stronger opponent, and " if your opponent is superior ,evade him, if equally matched, fight". the sensible thing would be blocking every single attempt from the crowd and they grow tired.

i made that post reading some posts about football and few incident came to mind that some of those athletes remove themselves from those situation by just ignoring and going about their business. Alan Shearer was receiving some of the worst reception from the crowd specially against bolton (not sure but i think it was at wembley) and he was the englands captain, but he kept quiet. David Beckham was being booed at almost every stadium by the whole English crowd after his incident with Diego Simeone in england vs argentina WC 1998, what did he do? went on and had probably one of the best season of his career. man utd fans were booing cristiano ronaldo (their own player) for his incident with rooney (England vs Portugal) which he practically did nothing wrong ( just working for his teams advantage and getting rooney sent off) again, what happened there, he had such a good season that the crowd had to shut up eventually,

of course rossi can help the situation but when he isnt lorenzo for his own sake can stop making it worse.

I am royally gutted that the paranoid schizophrenic Moanhino is now the manager of my favourite club. His style of play that he coaches is not in the United dna. Bad decision, should have stuck with LVG.
