Rossi casts doubt over Yamaha future!

it's interesting that Rossi seems to utilize the leg dangle more often when comming under heat from others behind him. when in cruise control or running clear in qualifying it does not appear quite as often...or when it does, it is not hanging out quite as far for quite as long....Pedrosa does the same thing - the farther ahead he is of someone, the less often the leg dangles out... so it is not mutually exclusive to Rossi.... even RDP dangles the leg now and again. Stoner has done it and cannot explain what it does if anything at all. It may help them balance and shift their weight better under hard braking as they claim (I'm not drinkin that kool aide)...but it does give the guy behind less room to do anything passing...

Why is it that Rossi boppers tend to attack the person delivering the message rather than debate the issue itself....One of the problems why even I as a Yamaha fan grow weary of Rossi - the yellow muppets that follow him and hang on his every word just get to be plain annoying after awile....the attitude of Rossi fans and how the media plays to him begin to make it easy to tire of it after awile. Anyone who still likes Notre Dame football is in it for the right reasons. If you're still a ND fan then you are truly following a mid packer at the very best. They have been nothing shy of terrible going on almost 13 years now. I'm with you on the whole Duke and Yankees thing, but ND has no more front running Rossi style fans. You have to win to get those guys to come along.

Deal. Hey, on my next trip to Mexico I'm gonna bring back these bottles of Tecate that are called "Cawamas". Here is a picture of one. I'll have a cold one waiting for you. What ya think, big enough for ya? (1 Quart)

And maybe this way I'll get one this time eh Gator? (Geez, I brought a 12 pack and only saw one meet my lips, the rest Gator and his girl downed them all).

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Austin @ Sep 5 2009, 05:32 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>I absolutely agree Hayden should have been more vocal about his situation at Honda but that's just how he operates. It's not a trait that I neither like, nor dislike about him. And not to point at you and say "You behave this way!" because you've just explained that you don't basis your judgement of riders on their personalities, but again, I'm merely pointing out the hypocrisy of the 'boppers. "Stoner doesn't like to battle, what a .....!", "Stoner's faking sick, what a .....!", etc.

So why are Valentino's complaints about this issue acceptable? Not necessarily asking you Babel, more rhetorical than anything.

In the light of all the .... Stoner get, no rider have the right to be negative in any way against anyone or anything. They should all be happy puppets flying around the tracks in close fight with the other riders, risking their lives every second of the race, and it should all be in a happy positive atmosphere where every one are happy.
<

I like that the riders speak out, with anger, excitement, unfairness, exaggeration and frustration.
Understand the situation and the rider and you will know approximately how much to subtract from their statements and the result is something close to the reality.

Oh c'mon. This is BS. You only "like that the riders speak out" because Rossi is doing it. You don't fool me, even with your peace offering to Stoner in your post. Anybody other than Rossi speaks out and you guys are all over it. And now all of a sudden you like it? Hahaha. Yeah right.
<

Tell that to somebody who doesn't know you around here 'Mr. Casey uses the most TC regardless of what the man (and even the Pope) says'. oh, did you forget you said that? So Stoner says something and you question it with your eagle eyes as evidence of his fib, but Rossi speaks out and now you "like it when riders speak out"? Wow, your credibility is breathtaking.

Austin, it is all cool as if one does look at the all-time scoreboard Rossi is not the GOAT as many claim, ao I would expect that the scoreboard importance varies depending on the cause and argument point at hand.

Sweet, mine is a 400S so it's street legal but it belongs on the trails. I almost never ride it, it's in really good condition. Gator's been on it a couple of times. Every once in a while I claim I'm gonna sell it but there's nothing wrong with it, it's paid for so it's hard to part with it.

He is flirting with Ferrari and now talking like he may want to leave Yamaha. This kind of thing might work in a couple of years ago, but now JL and Spies are on the line, I do not think he gains much from it. Yamaha should not forget he brought great assets, the Burgess team from Honda, and developed the M1, but they should be preparing for the post-Rossi era. He has many fans, but some of us do not like him much, especially the way he does the mind games using the media. In Yamaha, some of them should be fed up by his mind games too.

But jeff, I’ve seen Rossi do the leg dangles a couple of times when he is in third with the fourth Rider far out, behind other top runners and trying to catch up, not only covering from other Riders. Also I would not risk a move that could slow me down a millisecond and let another rider overtake me on the breaks if it’s not working either.

To all the Rossi boppers, I offer a peace offering:
8111:Uccio.JPG]

Ok ok, I'll say something meaningful.

As far as Rossi's comments. I heard something similar from him when Bridgestone said they couldn't supply him. He said his future in MotoGP was in jeopardy (that is he threatened to leave the sport). (Look it up, I'm not being a hater, I'm just reminding everybody that cares to listen how his comments here are similar to another situation). As I recall this started a series of events where at first Dorna wanted to continue the tire war but then did an about face and proposed the unthinkable--a spec tire. Rossi came out and said this was a good thing. Dorna had actually tabled the spec tire idea but when the threats came out that he might leave, Bridgestone, who had said they couldn't supply another rider, and Dorna who had tabled the idea suddenly acquiesced. This situation with the signing of Lorenzo strikes me as very similar. Rossi now threatening to leave Yamaha (at very least implying). (At first I thought, yeah, that would be cool because his options would be very limited in the sense that I don't think he would return to Honda because of the bad blood, so Ducati & Suzuki would be his only options. So I would have loved to see him make that work. But it didn't cross my mind that he meant to leave the sport as it seems now with all of a sudden Ferrari rumors cropping up).

As much as his fans don't want to see this, it is simply Rossi muscling his way in the sport (yes, I'm bias). As much as you boppers might chalk up my observation as hating, consider this. I actually think Rossi is right/correct in wanting his way all the time. He is after all his best advocate. What bothers me is that the sport bends to his wishes when it doesn't for others. (As you may recall other riders called for Bstones too). Sure, you guys will counter with, scoreboard--he deserves it. But no, not in authentic competition, it’s supposed to be a level-playing field as much as possible. If fact, Rossi said this himself, oddly enough when he was trying to get the bridestones. This is what he said when advocating for the spec tire:

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE <div class='quotemain'>"Because I think, especially this year, the tyres have too much importance.

"For me, it's better to start everybody from the same place."

So he wants everybody to be equal.

The ironic thing is he wasn't saying this when people were not getting the "equal" treatment by Michelin. Of course not, why would he, he was getting an advantage with special tires. But was this his fault? NO. It was the fault and continues to be the fault of the governing body in their failure to police special preferential treatment, especially when they themselves have been the ones to grant it.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE <div class='quotemain'>Michelin Sport boss Frederic-Henri Biabaud has openly suggested that the control tyre proposal is being pushed by influential riders rather than a tyre manufacturer or team LINK

Who might that be?

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE <div class='quotemain'>"I don't know (if I'll change team). I have a year of my contract still to run and then I'll decide what to do,"

"The end of this season and all of the next one risk becoming a torment."

So again, here today we have Rossi applying pressure on Yamaha. It looks like Yamaha didn't bend to his wishes. (Refreshing actually, as they signed Lorenzo). Rossi may feel a bit insulted. So what does he do, it seems he's now eliciting a reaction from a higher power--Dorna. Who would stand to lose if he goes packing from the sport?

Is this me hating on Rossi? Well I guess for some it is. One reason why I enjoy winding up the bopper is because what I'm saying here is on public record for all of us to analyze. All riders advocate for themselves, and this is cool and smart as they should; frankly I admire Rossi for doing it as I wished Hayden had more clout to get away with demanding .... too. Lorenzo, he is Spanish, and as the Italians, they are both titans in the measure of clout. Ah, but have others complain, express their frustrations, etc. then its them whining, complaining, making excuses, crying, etc. When Rossi does it, well he's right, correct, and we are haters for pointing it out. Double standard; no. Hahaha.

Some of you guys may not remember a TV show called Laverne and Shirley. But this pic reminded me of that. LINK Minute 1.06 (Rossi damn near ran me over).

Thats cool V, wasn't aimed at you anyway.

The basis is that Talpa was pointing out that all people ned to do is look at the scoreboard to see who is 'on top' and therefore who is the best (ithin context of the discussion). So, I decided to use te 'same scoreboard' comment to illustrate that perhaps if one is to use scoreboards alone, then VR is not yet the GOAT based on race wins, championships etc.

Was a throwaway point - nothing serious in it.

You see, VR has not achieved 123 all class wins yet, nor 15 championships as has Agostini. So, if scoreboards count for all, then he is not the GOAT and again, this is specifically in reference to the comments I had quoted, thus you need to look at that context.

Oh, c'mon, not the same story all over again, about Rossi "muscling" his way through, to get some supposed unfair advantage! That is completely reversing the right perspective.
<

Why? Because in motorsports riders/drivers never mattered ....., and have been used like pawns by the real manipulators--who have always been the manufacturers, the likes of Dorna, etc.
<

When Rossi came to the scene, first of all he had to "muscle" his way on the track (and he is still doing it against all comers) then rightly claimed back the riders' role and importance, puttingt the figure of the (top) rider back at the center of the stage. He gave up concrete advantages like riding a (supposedly) unbeatable factory Honda just to prove his point and demonstrate that the rider could be at the center of the show.
<

All other riders admire Valentino for that, not only for his riding skills. Stoner doesn't have the stomach (literally) to stand up openly and put his foot in the door as Rossi does, and rather goes on silent strike in his farm. Lorenzo has been learning (as far as his smaller brains allow him...) Rossi' lesson and wants to be at the center of the racing just as Rossi does.

Rossi simply understands very well what a rider needs in order to be able to win, and he (rightly) does everything he can to get it. He pushed to have the Bridgestones because he knew that without them he could not have won the title again (and he was right, against Burgess' advice). I call that clarity and determination.
<

This is the truth. Haters will always find something terribly wrong with Rossi, but that's their problem. They'll even bring Uccio up as a last resort, suggesting Valentino is gay... that's really pathetic in the eyes of all those who know Rossi first-hand even a tiny bit. Have you ever seen Valentino having fun in the discos around Rimini at night? I have. No way he can be gay. He's always in the company of beautiful girls and you can tell he really enjoys them. And Uccio just tries to grab some leftover from his friend
<

So we had enough nonsense, dear Rossi haters--be a bit fair in your judgements, it is not going to break your bank account and you'll be able to appreciate this sport better, if you really love it

I read your post very carefully, but I didn't see your explanation as to why Rossi feels he needs to eliminate his teammate; which if you notice is the point of this thread. Ok, so he asserts himself against evil owners (that's a stretch because all they've done is listen to him very intently for years) and your second point; he's not gay. I got that. I don't get why he's gone out of his way to state publicly that Lorenzo should got to Honda or that it will be a "risk" of "torment" to have Lorenzo stay. Why does Rossi feel he needs to pressure Yamaha to eliminate his closest challenger? Could it be that perhaps because we are seeing that once you have close to equal equipment the man doesn't look "unbeatable?"

1. When he got beat in 06--the Honda was the best bike ever combined with Rossi's bad luck.
2. When he got beat in 07--the Ducati was the best bike ever combined with Ross's bad luck.
3. When he won in 08--Rossi did it because he's the GOAT, which confirms 06/07 as anomaly.

Very tidy explanations. Looks like now he and his apologist have trouble explaining why he has somebody on his tail every race. You can't blame the opponents superior bike, or Rossi's bad luck, or the tires anymore. Quick, get rid of the Lorenzo before they figure out that once another person has "equal" equipment The Man doesn't look so "unbeatable". eh?

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE <div class='quotemain'>All other riders admire Valentino for that, not only for his riding skills. I just love this statement above; it really epitomizes your perspective and lack of reality. To summarize your statement: Everybody loves Rossi, and his closest competitors are gutless and brainless.
<

And if that wasn't enough, you give me this gem:

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE <div class='quotemain'>Rossi simply understands very well what a rider needs in order to be able to win

Understatement. Yes, he really understands what it takes to win I have no doubt. Let me summarize it for you: He understands never to let anybody share in his advantages. Brilliant.
