Rizla Suzuki MotoGP test rider Kousuke Akiyoshi took his first pole position of the season on the 16th for the second-round of the All Japan Superbike Championship at Suzuka.
Akiyoshi was riding the Team Yoshimura Suzuki and set his fastest time of 2:23.233 in the final qualifying session under wet and misty conditions as team mate Atsushi Watanabe recorded the third fastest time of the day with 2:25.199.
