Same. After the late pass Marquez pulled, I thought Rossi would rough him up for sure, but it never happened.

Espargaro did beat both Ducatis. That's a respectable achievement.

Rossi knows that Marquez has the bike control and the balls  to  bite back. Thats called earned respect and knowing who you can .... with. Had it been Pedrosa, he would have punted him in a heartbeat.

What a race. I didn't expect Valentino being so fast, I knew he had a good pace (around 1.55.high 1.56.low) but he managed to go even faster.

It's a shame that Honda's acceleration at turn 10 was terrific, Valentino eventually managed to close the gap in turns 11-12 each lap, but he couldn't attack Marc at the last lap.  I hope we get more Rossi vs Marc battles, because they make races better, no one can deny it.

Did Cal finish fuel?

Great race to kick off the season, not surprised the Rossi whingers have shown up, he just showed he still has it and I'm sure that has you guys pissed.

MM showing why he is the champ, he can recover the bike from positions that would have lesser riders on the ground, I'm glad Rossi was around to make him earn it, that was one hell of a ride from the both of them.

Speak up cant hear ya

Yes WWE Carmello has probably cum his pants over that one.

Good race.

Great race, good to see Rossi finding some form, Marky as expected, now waiting for 25 pages of mindless drivel from the cockroach on how we must see it his way, and how dumb we are or not buying into his .....

was great to see vale and marc saying how much they enjoyed the battle in the post race press conf. but wish motogp.com would get a move on and put the rest of the interviews up

and on a totally different note has anyone else noticed that marc marquez is the double of jim from the film AMERICAN PIE and Cal Crutchlow is the spit of reverend  Jim from the TV series TAXI. I tried to put some pics up but i'm not great with computers

Considering how bad Ducati bikes have been for the last seven years, not really. A. Espargaro came up short in a big way this weekend, in my book.

so it's 4 bikes in park fermé once again..

I thought that was odd also.  They need to ditch that.

I was under the distinct impression that ........ was done with.

Too many crashes. I bet Lorenzo is still yelling at Bridgestone several hours later. Towards the end I was expecting Aleix to miraculously end on the podium with another rider crashing...

Also, why the f-- is Aleix in parc Ferme - he finished 4th.... Top "Open Advantage" rider...

I guess. During practice, all we see is the best lap of the session. He choked badly in qualifying, but we don't know if he had anything for the race. No one on the soft tire did particularly well.

Give Redding Pedro's bike

I know you can't help being gay for any Brit but if you have to give him someone else's bike give him the the other Brit's bike.

Overall - it was a fun race to watch. Shame to see Jorge blow it in the first lap. Great to see Rossi showing some of the old race-craft.

Was pleased that the top 3 didn't just run away from everyone after the 2nd lap,  and lots of overtaking. Last few laps between Rossi

and Marquez were a trip. Lorenzo must have been biting a hole in his gloves watching it knowing (believing) that it should have been him.

Mark my words.... Bridgestone is going to take a lot of extra heat this year over lack of choice and the choices they've already made.

To throw my two cents in on the tyre issue: I dont' think that Bridgestone/Dorna will mind the heat from Lorenzo. His advantage seems to be taken away.  He cant just sprint off on the first lap=boring. The show is more exciting, while the same factory protagonists seem to be fighting for the podium (more because of the riders than the superior bikes).

The first 6-7 laps had very close racing and the sponsors got lots of airtime.

If the new tyre gives closer racing without Marquez just plain running away with the title, let the tyres remain.

Jorge will have to quite whinning. Dani said it best... B.S. Jorge. Get on with the racing

Rossi lovers... I hate to say it but... Rossi had a great Qatar race last season.

Don't get your hopes up to high, let's see what he does in Texas. He was no where to be found last year. If he is at the sharpe end this season, then start having some higher hopes - but he ain't winning another championship.

While I was really disappointed at the end of the first lap it's gonna be a long season....think 99 will get tires figured out pretty quick and be running at the front soon...wish rossi m.d. had something for mm at the end but I don't think he will let that happen a second time.  Do miss gavin Emmett on the Fox broadcast though...the new guy was ok but needed to be louder to compete with Nick Harris' constant talk of marc marquez

I doubt Rossi  wins another championship and COTA will probably favor the Hondas with that long straight. I think what mattered for this race was that he was there at the end, but MM's too talented. I also don't think the tires are gonna be a big deal, Bstone did the same thing to Honda and changing tires every couple years is a good way to slow down the factory team's rapid prototyping. 20 litre fuel didn't seem to be a problem at Qatar either, it looked to me like they both had enough fuel to go wide open for those last laps.

Rossi's yamaha looked like it was so easy to ride. If he has the pace to be battling with MM, I'm going to put some money on Lorenzo today for the championship.

MM doing 348.3 kph. want to know on which lap an if slipstreamed or not. looked like he pulled some 20 hp extrs out of the hat for the final 2 laps.. (sick crash fest btw. Hoffmann on german TV demanding dual compound front tyres, as most crashes were over the left front).

I'm pretty sure they did have dual compound fronts. Softer on the left.

Great race - Marquez & Rossi put on a great show. I hope it's a sign of things to come.

I think they really need to look at the value of having the Qatar GP a

night race. The tarmac would be a lot warmer & with no dew on it if

they raced in the day like every other track.
