very nice spectacular to watch...... there was a clip of nicky on motogp.com going abit more sideways than that on the duke, not at PI tho.... that was awesome to its a shame tho, he can control the bike well but cant put in the same laptimes as casey.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Jumkie @ Oct 18 2009, 04:09 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>Not much to discuss really. Lorenzo blew the start, got passed by both Ducatis, then tried to make it up in great haste and torpedoed Hayden. end of. (That is until you get your inevitable Puig type member in here saying it was Hayden's fault: Supershit, Pinky, etc.)

I think you have a point compa… It was ‘definitely’ Piug’s Fault!

On to the race results:

Stoner. Cool to win at home that way.

Rossi. I think he tried, not an easy task. Anyway, I am not sure he was so happy to be second in a tough race from Stoner, as to only needing a couple of 9th places to grasp his 9th. I would be happy in his position, would not anyone?

Lorenzo’s moon walk… Someone forgot to tell him that we were back on earth, and stronger gravity made its way!

Pedrosa. Oh well, Pedrosa.

De Angelis & Edwards. Great ride by them two.

Dovisiozo. Um… Dovizioso.

Melandri. Wow, 7th and top 10 in the Championship with no real support from Kawa (crap Kawa).

Etc.

Poor old Hayden. Feel for you Jumks.

Bloody hell, sometimes I am able to upload photos & videos with a link, and sometimes I just cannot find it!

How does anyone do it today?

Okay race. As always, watching Stoner circulate PI is almost enough all by itself.

Lorenzo was ridiculous in his attempt to wedge himself in between two bikes going into turn one. He paid the price, but he sent Hayden off as well.

I can't wait for Moto2. Hopefully it will bring better racing and more manufacturers into the series. Efficient use of the tires is going to be everything in Moto2 (just like MotoGP). I can only hope that everyone does a reasonably good job, and no one has a huge lopsided advantage in year 1.

You talking about after the race? He looked back stuck his hand up as if to apologize to the people he just dusted. Reminded me of maverick giving the tower a buzz, only fruitier.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (chopperman @ Oct 19 2009, 02:16 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>when peeps say "the 800's" i think thats just to general. the 800's have had 3 years of development now so i would imagine are quite different from the beginning when such statements were made. Same as the "so stoner uses the most tc" comments here ive read. bikes ,rider styles, electronics all change from season to season.
Here here, rog..... I haven't seen the duck or m1 spin up that much since the 990 s, maybe vr In 07 with the sub par michelins. And as I predicted the pendulum swings back but this time much harder for the moonwalker, and sadly for us the spectacle reduced now vr doesn't need to risk it....

During an interview on TV here in oz Casey said that that is his favourite corner out of all. Guess it shows!

We,ve seen good drifts before, but I suspect none of them are at anything like this.

250kph apparently. Is this the fastest corner in motogp? I suspect it is.

Rog, you really are clutching at straws when trying to explain away Caseys throttle control.
Can you never give unreserved credit to the guy?

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Wander @ Oct 18 2009, 05:56 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>And they say you can't drift with the 800s!

Oh, Phillip Island is a fast track and the surface was cold. Not much grip, the drifts were kind of inevitable for all.
<

Stoner's most spectacular drift in the very last lap happened in the fastest corner, at about 220 Kph

This is why some of the recent negativity has been so annoying for casey's fans, as his method of getting competitive pace out of the ducati, which is the only one that has proven to be at all effective, clearly requires unusual strength for his size and a fair amount of bravery, and trying to do it whilst physically diminished would undoubtedly be dangerous to his rivals as he himself has said recently and some of us have said previously, particularly given that he still had single lap pace up there with the leaders.

This has nothing to do with valentino's championship win this year of course, as it is up to stoner to present himself on the grid in a fit condition, and valentino's great durability ranks highly among his many championship qualities. I think he and lorenzo would also have raced differently and had fewer dnfs if stoner had been in the mix.

see the attitute of the duke vs the yamaha. fucken amazing he was ahead of rossi and 18 seconds ahead of rest of the field, let alone even be competitive. never seen anyone ride as hard as that

For anyone who hasn't seen them, Parc Ferme interviews with Stoner and Rossi.

Awsome race. Even though not much overtaking, it was an awsome display of bike control by the two best riders, on probably the best bike circuit in the world. Stoner deserved the win, and Rossi definitely enjoyed the race.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Ngads @ Oct 19 2009, 03:50 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>does any1 know what rossi needs to come in to clinch the title in malaysia???

Could be wrong but I would say 4th if Lorenzo wins it.

4th means that VR earns 13 points and moves to a total of 283 to JL's 25 who would move to 257 which is a 26 point difference with one race to go - therefore championship over.
