This will almost certainly be one of the best WSBK championships ever. Haga, Kiyo, Spies, Biaggi, Neukirchner, Nakano, Rea, Corser and Checa all have realistic chances at the champioship in my opinion and its going to be so ....... entertaining.

Spies, Haga and Kiyo are going to create some absolutly mental battles and I cannot wait!

This is going to be so much better than MotoGP this year!

First time he's ever laid eyes on the circuit and Ben makes pole by .3

Oh, come on Lex. That's an easy one, you don't need Engineer Tom to explain this one, it was clearly the ...... AMA champ having the decided advantage of NOT knowing the track! Yes, think about this for a moment. You see, this way he was NOT hindered by bad habits that can be developed by previous track knowledge. This proved to be a disadvantage (their demise in qual) of the veterans who have raced here, which by doing so, have developed very bad habits, hence slower lap times. Isn't that right Tom?

You see Lex, what we thing to be reality, is infact quite the opposite, and a takes an engineering analytical mind like Tom's to see this.

I never expected Spies to be so fast right away but then again who was.
I guess this is a testament to how good Mladin is as well.
Too bad we'll never know.
One thing Spies has agains't him is that the last few years he really hasn't had to do a lot of close racing.
It was one on one with Mladin and most of the time one of them would eventually check out.
It looks like there will be a lot of riders bunched up judging by the times so it will be interesting to see how he will handle it.

Already making excuses Johnny?

(Just getting Migs post out of the way).

Just watched the British Eurosport2 coverage of the Superpole, "aquired" it through a torrent. Wow, the new Knock-Out formula is great. With only getting 2 qualifier tires and there being 3 potential sessions a rider can be there is some real strategy going on with when you use them. Also quite a few last second surprises, all in all IMHO more entertaining then the old system.

And to top this off 2, that's right 2 races tomorrow (well technically tonite for us stateside)!

Did anyone figure out away around the "this content is not available in your region" ........ on the WSBK site for us stateside? Hayden Fan boasted he could watch it, what are you doing Hayden Fan?

AFAIK it's a reginoal thing and you need an IP adress outside of USA. It's mentioned elsewhere where to find those.

I guess those of you locked out of the online stream because of location could look into tracking down some good proxies? Or has this been tried?

someone moved it as Kez had said, not me though. might be mari or dazz...try to refresh your browser if the "Skidded Off Track" link doesn't work for you.

Fantastic first race. Unfortunatly Johnny seems to have a point. Ben's first race weren't exactly a sucess. But then again I didn't see the incident closly enough to see if he was actually pushed out or intimidated. Anyway, he will have his chanse later today.

Spies and Kiyo were very unlucky to suffer from other people's mistakes but thats racing I suppose.

Great win for Nori, but I think Neukrichner gifted it to him with that near highside just before Lukie Heights. Both Aprillia's were very dissapointing with Nakano nearly being beaten by Spies who had been off the track twice.

Bring on race 2!

damn that new GSXR is quick!

at last some racing! and a battle to the last corner for the win. i hope ezy is taking notes and remembers the excitement is only just starting, 2 more races to go!

WSB/WSS ....... rules!
