Phillip Island GP 2011: Predictions, Practice, Qual

The most excting and beautiful race track on earth. I love it's landscape and the little corkscrew where Rossi does/did his most overtakes.

Amazing sliding by Stoner in the first session of the Stoner show. He slides it like i do everyday with my butter knife.

I dont think Lorenzo has any chance against Stoner here, but he should be careful not to lose the second place, Of cource i would love to see him finishing in front of Stoner here and keep the championship alive, but i dont think so.

Stoner and J-Lo.....the two titans going at it from the get-go.....

Rossi's pinky injury is apparently worth 1.64 seconds a lap
<

Hayden going well...he likes this track methinks.

Suzuki...where are you?

I'll be there Sunday only.

If anyone is looking for me, I will be the pissed prick !!!!

Seriously can't wait. This is my fav race of the year. The drifting up over Siberia at full noise with the bike cranked over is insane to watch. Anyone who thinks MotoGP is boring needs to get a double shot of PI into the system. Just hope the weather is warm and fine.

Unless he bins it, Stoner will be untouchable, and if the track is dry the lap record to be smashed in qual.

Really hope the Ducs have a respectable weekend. If there is any track where they should not suck, it is here. They should wheel out the GP10, dial up Casey's settings from 2010, and start from there.

Bring it on !!!

25 minutes into FP2...

Ah, the Pie Man decides to show up!

Rossi still 1/2 sec slower than Hayden. Must be the shoulder pinky.

No improvement over FP1 for J-Lo or Peddles so far...

Awesome day today!! So sunburnt though. Marquez crash was crazy! Sorting through my first 1200 photos now, will start a thread for you guys playing at home

Moto2 World Championship leader Marc Marquez will have to start Sunday's Australian Grand Prix from the back of the grid for causing a big accident in Friday morning practice.

Marquez, seeking to make up for time lost in an earlier fall, continued at high speed after the chequered flag - and slammed into the back of a slower-moving Ratthapark Wilairot through turn two.

The incident was examined by Race Direction, who reprimanded Márquez for 'riding in an irresponsible manner' with a one-minute penalty to be added to his best lap time in Saturday's qualifying session.

Márquez's team lodged an appeal against the decision, following which FIM stewards confirmed the decision of Race Direction.

Wilairot was airlifted to hospital for precautionary medical checks, while Marquez walked away from the incident with minor injuries and was able to take part in the afternoon session, which he finished in 17th place.

Repsol Suter rider Marquez took the title lead by one point from Stefan Bradl at the previous Japanese round. Kalex rider Bradl was fastest on combined Friday practice times at Phillip Island.

Talking about possibly throwing a title away. Watch and see if he doesnt make it worse by being in a hurry to cut through the field on Sunday. ........

I'm camping at the track. It's 9.20pm Friday night & it's freezing.

Got cooked today in the sun so that kinda evens up for the cold tonight.

Sure the guys on top of the time sheets are "out of this world" fast but the guys in the slower half are still crazy the way the throw the bike thru the super quick corners. They're all awesome.

This track makes you appreciate all the GP.....riders first to last. Everyone from Stoner to Rossi to Cudlin.

Time to appreciate another beer.

This is obviously different because marquez was not entitled to be going at such a pace, but this is the sort of accident stoner fears, ungracious or not though he may be about the issue.

I wasn't paying much attention at the time, but i thought marquez went past before the chequered flag came out, which entitles him to another fast one?
