The 2007 800 was a direct evolution of that 2006 bike, and so started as Nicky's baby. During 2007 it was clear that the bike was a pig, and it was not getting leaps and bounds better.

"direct evolution" is a huge overstatement since it was the bike furtherst removed from its 990cc equivalent.

I'd say that if both riders are given development input and they ask for opposite directions then it isn't and ideal situation. Dani shouldn't so publicly "blame" nicky but he has a point based on his textbook riding style compared to nicky's way of riding. I think the problem really comes from the bike itself being unsuccessful, i wouldn't expect this problem to happen again next year.

when you have finished spitting your venom may you consider that the interview may have been edited. it is the media after all...

i think its funny, we all know Dani isn't the most friendly guy in the paddock so why are you surprised? he speaks his mind, he's not being rude or insulting towards Hayden so what is the big drama all about? its pretty obvious that the two riders don't think much of each other and Dani just states he wouldn't mind a divide down the middle of the garage, granted it's a bit miserable but at the end of the day i bet Hayden wouldn't mind it either! the only difference is that Hayden is 1) genuinely nice enough not to say it or 2) wants to maintain his 'nice guy' image with the fans.

there's no need to get so vicious about it.

Spot on, but of course everybody loves having something that resembles an actual reason to hate dani, other wise people will know its just frustration with his ability.

I think Honda had to chose who to support with the new model of 800. They thought make it small like a 250 and Dani has a shot. Nicky could hardly sit on it. It didn't work out so now they choose a larger bike and Nicky is happy. Dani won't be. They are so different that in no way will one bike suit the both of them and neither one will give the engineers info that will satisfy the other since their styles are so different.

However, like a previous poster said, Dani is a fast lapper, Nicky is a racer. I go with the racer every time and so should Honda.

I think that's a fair assessment, obviously in Pedrosa's view, Nicky got it wrong, because Nicky didn't agree with him.

"America does have a history of fighting! (back, whom & when it likes, when it pays ++++++++) well well - don't blow your cool - & let's not get into an historical diatribe - or there'll be more .... than sense flying around - but talking about getting pissed off and reactions - when biaggi pissed of rossi - he got whopped in the face for it - is nh to nice to risk his nice boy image - didn't look that way at the end of 2006- mama honda's problem is thst for previous bikes it had real proven talent to test, feedback & develop - doohan, criville, okada, rossi in hrc & 1st class satellites with capirossi, kato. now they starve the satellites - because of their own hrc problems - and have a pair as physically unlike as laurel & hardie

Honda need to chose the guy with the best shot at winning the title for them in 2008 and beyond....Is that Dani or Nicky for Repsol HRC?

I think the Hobbit has HRC support over the KY Jelly Kid...thanks to A.Puig.

Pedrosa is the next Biaggi. The guy has an ego the 3 times his size. I am biased but Hayden has won a Moto GP title, Pedrosa has not. Stick with the proven results. Hayden works as hard or harder than anyone in the paddock and there is no ego ........ with him. The guy shows up, works hard, does his job and thats it. Never attacks anyone in the press and never makes excuses. Not to mention the U.S. sells 7 times as many bikes as Spain.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(L8Braker @ Nov 20 2007, 11:38 AM) <div class='quotemain'>
All I can say is Wow! I was just about to say in another thread Pedrosa is an ok guy (I'm not denying the boy can ride, never have) then I read this, but maybe I better hold off until a complete translation comes in.

It's funny in an interview with Hayden found below, he states neither had any input into the bike.
http://www.superbikeplanet.com/2007/Nov/071116-69-1.htm

If Dani wants the bike to work better for him, maybe he should have been in Sepang this past weekend.

I read this whole thread for no reason. It should have been over on page 1 when l8braker posted the above.

Isn't this^^^^^ obvious? Honda listened to neither, consequently, they both hated the bike with a passion. Nicky obviously didn't have any input b/c he still can't ride it very well. Pedrosa never got comfortable on it because Honda built what they thought he would want.

Pedrosa is a damn fool. Everyone who sides with him looks foolish. Only a fool and merry his band of fools would believe Hayden developed a bike he couldn't fit on-- a bike that Hayden had nearly every part ripped off of and replaced.

The tech analysis/charts/graphs/stats created the RC212V. Didn't we collectively reach that conclusion shortly after the year began?

Before I go on hating Pedrosa any more than I already do, I would like to say that I hate the media even more. This "article" may be putting words into his mouth, or rearranging them.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(MigsAngel @ Nov 21 2007, 03:59 AM) <div class='quotemain'>
So Nicky will be left two choices AMA, or a Yamaha as second rider to Lorenzo or Toseland.

Are you joking?

"Pedrosa is the next Biaggi..." This strikes me as something possibly true. Same great pedigree from 250, same great promise coming to the premier class, some brilliant races, then... We'll see, Pedrosa is young, Biaggi began when he was much older. However... the same imprint is coming out of this interview...

I think it is Honda who screed up badly in 2007. They designed a bike for Pedrosa then gave it to Nicky to test, probably because they did not yet trust Pedro as tester... Of course Hayden was puzzled and what could he do, other than give a totally negative feedback? The bike was totally wrong for him!

I'm amused at the amount of hatred some Nicky fans show here. I don't see the big deal in those comments.

So he thinks Nicky is not good at developing the bike ... so what? is it and insult or something???

i agree completely i went to nickys website to find the gallery he had when they did the bike debut, but how smart of him to remove it. there were about three pics of him sitting on the bike looking like he could slap somebody and dani in the back smiling. i think dani really wanted to win this year just like nick did and instead of saying honda did a ...... job developing a bike, he points the finger at nicky because he had a terrible year on the same bike he placed second on. i dont think its fair of him to do that. american or no, dani is acting like a little diva and he needs to curb it.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(an4rew @ Nov 21 2007, 05:36 PM) <div class='quotemain'>
Honda were wrong to listen to Nicky but they had their hands tied because they couldnt expect Danny's info to be reliable as hes got less experience in motogp.

Nicky cannot develop bikes very well could be because hes from superbikes and didn't come up through the motogp ranks.

He usually can just for his own style but now hes havin major problems with that too.

I like your posts, but this is simply wrong.

The HRC president said that Hayden is the best development rider he has seen, with the exception of Freddie Spencer.

Yes, indeed, it was an insult. He clearly said 'Hayden came back crying for my parts'. Also, he referred to being with Hayden as being mal acompanado(in bad company) 'absolutamente'(absolutely!)!? Hablas espanol y sabes muy bien que no es exactamente educado hablar asi sobre un miembro de su equipo.
