thats what i took from it as well!

spies & rea just need to stay clear of fabio... he'll no doubt be in kamakazi mode bein this is italy & theres always some ....... italian gonna try & win it in the 1st lap!

Based on that interview, I'd be very interested in Spies vs. Bayliss. I read Kropotkin's site and he reports that Bayliss is itching to get back on the saddle, I wouldn't mind him coming back to compete against Spies.

So has Fabi been instructed to ride shotgun to Haga reminiscent of the instructions given to Xuas here seven years ago?

I wonder if Haga had a wry smile under his helmet when Rea outbraked himself just then

Entertaining ride from Simoncelli - inevitable outcome, although that looked identical to Checa's frontender - unlucky son.

Here comes Ben

good race

was good to see simoncelli getting this close, 5th when he crashed, right?

bring on race 2!

Haga does the business - in front of his Dad who's made the trip from Japan!! - stick him on the back if you win race 2 Nori, like Nicky did with Earle at Laguna in 05. What more can you ask of the man? - great ride under pressure, great response to Spies.

I can't help feeling that had Fabi been in contention for the win he would have gone for it. As it is, he ostensibly dutifuly held off Max - (until he passed him at the line), and Spies, (who appeared to have substantial grip problems), satisfying Ducati protocol in the event. It'll be interesting to see what happens in Race 2, if both Ducati's are pushing for the win on the last lap.

Immaculate polished ride from Max. That beautiful Aprilia RSV4 has really been developed well this season, great to see it out dragging the all dominant Ducati mid range, and it's clearly got it on top end now.

How the hell did Rea finish where he did?? - Seventh!!!?? There's been some serious work done in the Ten Kate workshop over the break. Can't wait to see what he's capable of in Race 2.

Shame about Simoncelli, but what an impressive debut on a proddy bike.

Where's all the ......... who were predicting a Marco torpedo? Great ride on a TOTALLY unfamiliar machine... props Marco! Keep the rubber side down in race two!

Well said Mick

Well that answered my question. I don't think Ducati are particularly troubled by the result, they seem to adore Fabi, and Italian wins on Italian bike in Italy - good for the marque. Glad that Fabi had the integrity to take the win, irrespective whether he was under team orders. I suspect that he wasn't, because I think he is the favoured rider in the garage, and Tardozzi is his personal manager, which is appalling I think. Anyone recall how favoured Laconi was at JT's expense.

Great result for Simoncelli, I'm sorry it upset Spies race, but what a great championship with 4 races remaining. I have a feeling that Portamao will really suit Spies. Haga loved it last year, so we have a real mouth watering prospect ahead. We all hate Magny Cours though.

Rea showcasing his motocross experience again!!

Well I didn't get to see the second race 'cause the Singapore F1 is a big thang here... So someone got a link for the Simoncelli - Spies pass... I'd love to see it!

I was actually a move on Biaggi, which forced Max to sit up, go off line, and Spies who was on them both, had to take to the grass.

Was it clean?

Hmmmmm......yeah, by Simoncelli standards, but it left Max having to sit up with nowhere to go, and compared to the move that I've just seen Billy McConnell pull on Steve Plater in the BSS race at Silverstone, it was a text book pass.

Really gives you a peek at the skill level that goes on in the 250's, i really doubt Moto2 can bring forth the sort of guys like Simoncelli, even though i don't really like him.

I'm a happy man this weekend ^^ seeing as Nurburgring was a bit of a disaster for Haga this made up for it quite good. even though Fab won race 2.

My heart was really in my throat when Rea torpedoed himself towards Haga in race 1, race 2 certrainly wasn't an improvement. I really thought he was gonna be right up there with the Ducs and Aprilia's. Great ride by Biaggi aswell, but he must be kicking himself for letting himself be beaten by Simoncelli. Apart from that a good ride by Byrne and Kiyo aswell.

Supersport was excellent aswell, excpected a snore fest really with Crutchlow leading the way, turned out to be quite diffrent though.
