No more private testing now that Rossi is on winning bike

Needs more tinfoil hat.

That's pretty fancy of you good sir.  Why is it that you can fill in the blanks whenever you want to an it be iron clad gospel but when you chose not to, then you defer to needing a press release stating the obvious?  Then what was your interpretation of the quote you provided above?

He also said "if we were in with a chance of the championship, we would have gone".

Newsflash: They were NOT in with a chance of the championship in 2010 and God as hell knows they were NOT in with a chance 2011.  That did NOT stop them from throwing their particular Ducati chassis-LESS dreams and unique brand characteristics out the window and attempt the "UNTHINKABLE"--twin spar chassis, while throwing everything at the project (only for the rest of us to see VR was happily cruising around for points).  There seems to be a disconnect here don't you think?

Seems to me if they employed Rossi, they would have gone to Austin (as you concede) and I'll add, continued to leave no stone unturned to find solutions at an all court press rate, not to mention there would have been hell to pay from the hordes (not the least of which would have been echoed by the sport media lapping up the messaging that would have surely come from 'Les Miserossies Part II).

What part of the variation of the above sentence that reeks of the double standard that would have not been shown Mr. Golden Goose, in favor of throwing in the towel now, do you not understand?  C'mon good buddy, offer an alternate universe rationalization at very least instead of going to the lazy conspiracy theorist card.

You forget one thing, Jum. I am always, ALWAYS, right....

Actually, you are not a million miles from the truth, to be honest, and I was just yanking your chain. If Rossi was still on a Ducati, the decision to go to Austin would have been down to Rossi, not Ducati, which would have been bad. With Rossi gone, the organ grinder is back in charge.

I'm not a "million miles from the truth", I'll gladly accept this.  You are 100% ALWAYS right ....98% of the time.

:p

Just curious, if Ducati has admitted to having no chance   of winning the title, who actually complained that Honda and Yamaha was gaining undo advantages by testing in Austin. Tech 3 ?.

Ducati complained, though they used the excuse that they weren't in the title chase as a reason not to go. And Herve "I seem to have left my wallet at home" Poncharal also complained, he does have a rider in with an outside shot at the title.

Conspiracies aside.... If Rossi were still on the Ducati - they could have afforded to go to Texas as Ducati would still be benefiting from the increased sponsorship bucks that come with having Rossi on board.

It's the arm pump that he's had to deal with. And all those surgeries to relieve it are rough on a journalist's bank account. Do journalists even get health insurance? Oh... I forgot, he's British.

Don't worry, my tax-money is paying for his bills. Bloody foreigners. They took our jobs!

And your women. And your beer.

You would have been better off in Belgium then. Less STD's, better beer, and as long as you do every article in both Dutch and French, you'd probably qualify for federal funding.

When I was an IT consultant, I used to take great joy in trying to persuade Belgian customers to use only English in their projects. It was an innocent way of kicking off a language war...

In your opinion Krop, what areas has each manufacturer seemingly improved their bikes for this year ? Anything significant ?

Apart from Paul Bird and his New sponsors with their fit brolly dollies...

Honda: Chatter is much reduced, which was a huge disadvantage. The bike is now rideable.

Yamaha: acceleration off the corner is better, which was their weak point.

Ducati: slowly, they are improving the weight distribution and understeer, but they have such a long way to go. By September, they should have a nearly completely new bike, which should be much better.

This i would love to see, at the moment i think Dovi is going to be the worst hit as he is so strong on the brakes and very reliant on the front end and understeer will kill his style.
