It's now official - Tech3 Join with KTM for 2019!

While it is possible that Rossi could have his own setup, I doubt it would be a VR46 branded Team as he has been quite clear that the VR46 academy and Team are for bringing up and coming Italian riders into motogp. But yes, anything can happen.

No way would he have a VR46 branded team yet as that is somewhat his trademark for his business and other teams but he could be part of a team that 'evolves' into the VR46 branded MotoGP team when he chooses (that is my thoughts if it were to happen).

My personal suspicion only is that he will not ride for a VR46 team anyway but will be the figurehead but I could see something along the lines of the old Nastro Azzura days with a major sponsor looming large on him.

KTM aren't looking like (dare I say) a contender anytime soon. They are gonna have a tough time attracting a top flight pilot. Pol and Bradley have gotta go.

I am not so sure that the current KTM issues are not related to their personal... KTM has been involved in racing motorcycles and winning championships for many years, and the company knew what type of commitment it would take to be competitive. however they started from scratch, starting in house with engineers that did not have a lot of experience or success in the premier class. some of their design choices went against the grain so to speak, a steel frame and starting with a "screamer engine" and later going with a "Big Bang." Tech 3, with their own people and experience should be able to get KTM on the right track.

Really? You believe the Satellite KTM team will put the Factory KTM team "on the right track".

It's hard to know where KTM is at though with their riders. Compare tech 3 results with crutchlow, Dovi, Zarco and Folger vs Pol & Smith.

obviously the team manager, ex Pedrosa crew chief, can provide some leads to the engineers.

Obviously they are making mistake and the reality is that other manufacturers are also improving big time, so not easy to catch up.

I agree though that they wont be ready for 2k19 from what it looks.

as potential riders in 2k19 at KTM i see the following guys accepting for both dollars and to keep a feet in the sport : Iannone, Aleich Espargaro, Tom Luthi

Maybe Dani, because of the ex crew chief and other things mentioned above (eventhough I think Dani does not care about the cash), but its a long shot

I have a feeling that the Aprilia Asparagus will be gone at the end of the year.

Smith has form with Aprilia so maybe he would get a mention and he's done far more on an Aprilia that Asparagus who imo is the biggest dud in motogp.

Herve just confirmed that Tech 3 moto2 will be running KTM bikes in next year. Excellent news for Herve IMO.

Herve mentioned also in the same interview that his desired riders for next season would be Miquel Olivera (who has been offered a contract by KTM) and retaining Syarhin. He said that as they will be a junior team they would not be looking at Bradley Smith.

Yeah he really didn't sound too keen on Smith. Can't blame him really, Smiths ceiling doesn't seem to be as high as Herve and others hoped unfortunately.
