The Honda test has been posponed, there will be no testing of new engine efter the race this weekend.
HRC are not satisfied with the results from japan and no new test schedule has come out.

the spring valve engine is ok on tracks with short straights but i think they will loose out in china if there still not using the pneumatic engine.

I agree, the Honda engine isn't that bad, nothing near last years Yamaha for instance. But of course they're not happy until they have a solid advantage on the equpment side.

I think Honda is testing. I just don't think that they wan't to test the engine so others can compare to their Pneumatic engine. As it stands any dramatic improvements would definitely tip their hand for the rest of the season.

What's your problem boy?
Honda scheduled a test with their test riders tomorrow, that they cancelled just now.

They definatly need track time with the engine before it's used in race so this is a real setback for Honda, not any disguise.

honda have surprised me this year with how quickly they caught up. but we got some ....... long straights coming up where an extra thousand or two revs would be handy.

No need to give it another public outing if HRC don't feel it's made any improvements. It ran, although very briefly, in testing and did not look good. I imagine Honda will continue to test in-house until they have made the breakthrough they are looking for.

Bit of a let down. The longer i have to wait the more my expectations of this engine go up. There hasn't been anything wrong with the springs so far this year though, so there isn't too much rush.

What is really helping Honda being down on power is that Dani is about 20 lbs (may be more) lighter than the other top riders.

the spring valve engine will be fine for China too. those 5-6 km/h of top speed advantage that the pneumatic valves give won't make any big difference its much more important to work on the balance of the bike and the tyres.

Dani and the yams have been right up there in the speed charts this year though. Ducati still has the advantage of course but the competition seems to be able to hang in the slipstream now.

Yea its debatable either way. The faster the straights are the more the aero comes into play (which is nice if your bike is red) but the long turn onto the straight will play into the hands of Dani and the Fiats because they have been superior getting out of the turns.

that where rossi pointed the yam development. he always believed thats where you gain ground despite what we all saw when we looked at the red rocket ship on the big straights.

It paid off at Mugello
