Nicky's MTV show on Nov 16

I'm pretty sure they must have paid Toby Moody to record all those sound bytes just for the show.

When would Toby Moody ever be saying "Now remember...this is qualifying. They are going for the fastest lap. Whoever gets it will be on pole position" lol. They obviously made those clips just for the dumb people who know nothing about MotoGP, and to make the race sequences more exciting.

Nothing much to add here over the the other insightful comments posted.

Nicky came off being an honest and humble guy. Some of his observations, in hindsight, turned out be actually brilliant. When they realized tires were more important than bikes and that Bridgestones had so much more grip -- this was after the forst few races of the season.

I was surpised to see that he did his own driving and shopping while overseas. Expected more of an entourage -- especialty from the manufacturer/sponsor.

The after the fact audio commentary on the racing clips was ridicuous. But, I guess they were targetting the non-MotoGP audience.

I thought it was interesting that he commented before the season
that he thought tires could be a problem.
He also mentioned (pre season) that the riders he thought were
going to be fast were Rossi, Stoner and Pedrosa.
I don't know if he was speaking his opinion from results of pre season testing. Rossi and Pedrosa are obvious but it seems he knew Casey was going to be fast this year

DLd from RU. I thought it was OK (considering it's MTV, intended audience). If I had to nitpick, the "race commentary" was a bit over the top.

As already mentioned, I'm surprised how he takes care of his own stuff when on the road. I thought everyone of this guys have some "Uccio" of some sort following them around

Yeah that bit got me too ....

to the point where I actually assumed it was a bit thrown in from mid season and just looked like he predicted it from Pre season testing ....

I couldn't remember him saying Rossi specifically but he definitely said Pedrosa and Stoner ..... if it was really said chronologically as suggested .... well he got it almost perfect didn't he.

Which got me again thinking all the tyres. bikes, TC stuff is pure "poppycock" ..... I mean in his prediction, which I assumed involved him competing with the others, in the top 3 there was 1 Bridgestone and 2 Michelins ( though he didn't like the Michelins later ), and 2 Hondas 1 Duc and a possible Yamaha in the manufacturers ..... pretty much how it ended up.

Also when he had had his crach in LeMan and was recouperating in the Med. clinic he was saying something about the tyres .... did anyone hear him say something to the effect of " I gotta get on Bridgestone ..." ??

That bit was pretty much as I expected really ...... don't know if any of you guys have ever had to "travel" with work but I assumed it was pretty much the same. One point I found really pertinent .... The bit where he was in the supermarket ..... mostly he asked chics for help ..... I had found I was doing this too ..... lots of girls seem to be able to help with language stuff ..... but not many guys are very helpful unless forced by job etc. Germany was the funniest place for me ..... seemed every girl, when asked do you speak english?? answer " a leedle beet "
<
<
I even asked this big burly looking german biker guy once ( cos I even started to feel it was me subconsciously trying to crack onto chics!! so I tested my theory by asking a big ugly german biker for help
<
<
) and he looked at his girlfriend and prompted her to answer
<
<
( nup .. its the chics they all speak "a leedle beet!"
<
<
. I found all that bit of the Doco. pretty realistic.

All travel like that for work is a pretty lonely existence .... even harder for guys like Hayden and Stoner .... and must be real hard on the Jap guys .... you are away from your culture and language etc. .... Stoner has even publicly stated that he really got quite lonely ( about the marrying Adrianna thing ) ..... but I note that the Hayden family is pretty "clicky" so he allways seemed to get a family member showing up..... On the translator bit .... I don't think there was any real hassle with what he did .... really when you live outside your culture and language its pretty hard to put up with constantly ..... he really just reacted publicly to that frustration to me .... totally understandable.

haha yeah I remember at one stage ... one of the races Nicky wasn't doing too good at all at .... and was buried way down in the pack ... and the commentator was mentioning his race a lot more than I remember it being on the day
<
<
but anyway the show was about Hayden ... so it was a necessity to do it that way I guess. Would have been a bit weird to have the footage and commenting about Stoner or Pedrosa up the front .... and no mention of Nicky.

Regarding the "predictions," don't trust anything you ever see on MTV. They have the most blatantly dishonest group of editors in history. They most likely had someone as him who he thought would be fast at a particular race then edited it into the beginning of the show to give the impression of forshadowing.

Probably true. But, they did make it look believable..

Hehe, well they are responsible for "The Real World" afterall.

Hmm... now that Dani Pedrosa is apparently slagging off Nicky Hayden's bike development skills, I wonder if they can make a Celebrity Deathmatch episode of it
<
(Common MTV, you can do it

)

<
.Mans got to do what he's got to do.All Bullshittin aside, who are you interviewing with.

Sorry it took me so long to reply pov.

I interviewed for two positions with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Tennessee. One job was for external media relations, the other for internal relations. I just found out that I didn't get either job.

Yes, it would have been one hell of a raise as I have just graduated college and am looking for my first full-time job. The city was beautiful; I would have enjoyed living there. Oh well...

It's cool to know a Moto GP forum goer lives so close.

Can anyone tell me what the music was in the 9th (last) episode at laguna after his crash with hopkins. Begins just after it turns out that Hayden is right at the back...

it was more like a walk down redneck lane

He seems to have a background very similar to casey stoner's; perhaps some of casey's followers have pink necks.

I agree 100%, but the predictions part is the part I find most believable.

It's not like Hayden is sitting in an armchair throwing darts to get his picks. The guy rides directly in front and directly behind these people for 4 months before the season even begins. He can tell when they are running flat out, and when they are cruising.

He has a bit more info/experience than we do.
