Nicky's MTV show on Nov 16

I'm from northeast Tennessee.

He's been at this for several years, one would think he would be somewhat acclimated to globe trotting (or at least learn some basic spanish vocab).

Cool,I live in Knoxville,you must be around Bristol

it was great to see something like that on a mainstream network--even it 15 year olds are the target audience.

The show wasn't too bad. There were some serious silly moments and I felt bad that Nicky couldn't say or understand a bit of spanish but that IS what I liked about it also. It gave you a behind the scenes view. Coverage here in the states is so lame we had the chance to get a view into the life of a rider.

That was a good watch. Nice to see mainstream TV covering the riders story, win or lose. Well in this case it was a bit of both I guess, so maybe even more important to document the personal stuff at such times.

We had a show on Stoner here, but that was after he had one the tiltle so it was a bit "celebratory", and only a bit as personal as the Hayden one got.

i liked the show. for being aired on MTV it had pretty decent production values. i could have done without the translator incident. i know a lot of americans travel the world and don't realize that outside of our borders cultures are different. it's a sad reality, and i felt a bit embarassed when i saw that. nicky though, is a great racer and a great person. he has remained humble through the ups and the downs, and puts his heart and soul into motogp, which is a nice change from some others on the grid.. not saying any names

I can see the race track from my backyard. Although, if my job interview goes well tomorrow, I could be moving to Chattanooga.

I'll start for the dutch:
bones=botten
conditioner=conditioner or zachte shampoo (that's how I call it
<
)
juice= sap

german:
bones = knochen
conditioner = ???
juice = saft

french:
bones = ??
conditioner = ??
juice = jus

I really enjoyed it. It showed a lot of the things we don't normally get to see as fans. Le Mans for example...We see Nicky go down in a pile of bike parts and gravel, then a little while later we see him looking pretty disappointed in an interview.

What we missed is what you see on the show...him lying in the med center still pretty hyped up and pissed off saying "Fin Bridgestones" while in a good bit of pain.

I still like Nicky. IMO, he's one of the most down to earth guys in the paddock. I really hope he gets all of that out of his system and comes back strong next season.

I just watched it on the MTV site.
It was pretty good. I thought that a few things were staged but it was okay. I think that it will definitely drive a bit of new fandom (mostly teenage girls and the random housewife whose husband is a real fan)

Anyways It was timed perfectly to drive attendance for the Indy GP.

The one thing I noticed was his comment about referring to Bridgestones....."It could be like this for the whole year" I believe that was after the Laguna Round? I can't recall at the moment. But it seems he understood the imbalance of the tire issue early on.

I thought the show was pretty good. I think it gave a pretty good insight into his persona. Just a quite down to earth guy that loves to race and be with his friends and family.

I was pissed they didn't show his reaction in the gravel in Estoril...when Dani took him out..they left all of it out.....to me that was the KEY to the dam film....

his "passion" for Moto GP, but they left the most passionate part out...when he wanted to stomp Dani into the dirt.

Exactly,he would prefer to be in a pool hall in Owensboro with his buddies and a handmade cake,than the Euro,disco,Lipizzaner Stallions,hot models,runways with bikes party that was thrown in his honor after winning the title.Some would call that crazy,but thats who he is.

Some would call that good taste, because seriously, that Spanish party thing was tacky with a capital T.

I thought it was good, the racing aspect was pretty superficial, but I was expecting that, and it was good to see behind the scenes at things we don't normally get to see.
And on a purely shallow note, there was lots of topless Nicky.

well that was'nt to bad considering mtv made it. still think it should be shown on a different channel tho. somebody mentioned spike. that would be the channel or something like it.

Nick Harris.
that was not nick harris. harris was the 1 doing the interviews at the press conference before the races. i'm affraid that the guy commentating during the race was toby moody.

The chop job done on the Valencia race was horrible. It gave one the impression that Nicky and Valentino raced wheel-to-wheel up until the final moments.

do u think this mattered to thier target audience. it was'nt made so much for us enlighted folk...

None of the commentary on the clip i saw matched up with the live eurosport feed, is it recorded after and added on? I still think it was an immitation.

I don't think they did Rossi justice. They simply said he had multiple championships, not that he is one of the greatest in history.

the show was'nt about rossi or the history of gp racing... get over it.

The director and editor should be taken out back and beat with a motorcycle chain.

It sounded like it was Toby's voice, but the things he was saying weren't right. Perhaps its from a season review or something.
