That was pretty fun. I enjoyed seeing Nicky away from the track, especially if the film was as true-to-life as he said.
The chop job done on the Valencia race was horrible. It gave one the impression that Nicky and Valentino raced wheel-to-wheel up until the final moments, when Rossi crashed. Also, I don't think they did Rossi justice. They simply said he had multiple championships, not that he is one of the greatest in history.
About Nicky: I didn't expect an Einstein coming into this, but I was still surprised. I know this is a TV production, but Nicky said, in a soup interview, that he didn't alter his behavior for the cameras. He came across as a 16-year-old in his mid twenties. He seemed to clumsily bounce through the various countries and cultures that Moto GP brings him in contact with. The incident with the translator was very childish on Nicky's part.
I'm not angry; neither am I chiding Nicky. I'm actually relieved that he was a little whacky instead of being pious and boring. My point is that he didn't come across as the humble, wholesome good 'ol boy that makes no excuses while innocently chasing his lifelong dream.
I was a little disappointed in him with the translator also,he was rude to put it bluntly. As far as clumsily bouncing thru various countries, how else would someone from Qwensboro Ky react.Have you ever been to the rural south,he is about as out of his element as you can be.
