Nicky gets new Engine for Donny!

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (ROCKGOD01 @ Jun 19 2008, 07:07 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>This could go one of two ways. Either HRC wants to get Nicky back to form by giving him the motor and in hopes he can improve. Or he gets the motor with HRC deciding to hope it malfunctions so they have an excuse at the end of the season so they can replace him. Dovi is making his statements regarding he possible future. He is also another possibility to replace Melandri. I just wish Vale would get rid of that Yamaha and swing a leg over the Italian stallion and ride into the history books with a championship for them.

HRC, the spear head of Honda want's to display an american "looser" on an unreliable bike. Nice marketing for sure, and the next step surly would be to sabotage pedrosas bike so he looses any chance in the championship, or maybe that was Repsol's part?

Actually, now that I think about it you're right Migs (not really). This was an excellent move on Honda's part. It's a win win for them. (I hate them). Honda have been treating Nick like crap ever since the 2006 season has ended. This is a perfect opportunity to say "Look, the pneumatic engine is not ready but since Nicky asked for it we are doing everything in our power to deliver this weekend. We try and give our riders full %100 percent support." It looks very good for them. If the engine fails or Nick does horribly they can pass it on to, see, I told you so. And they get a little redemption in rider treatment. But anybody who knows the complete story can see right through all this ......... I hope Nick wants to get a shot at a pneumatic engine to prepare himself for his new team next year. All of which sport the pneumatic besides Ducati of course.

that had me rolling on the floor laughing.

Well, Nicky doesn't really have anything to lose, so why not try it. Reminds me a bit of Vale last year when he tried his in Misano... Had not much to lose there, did he?
On the other hand Pedrosa has loads to lose so he would be not too clever to exchange the tested and running well spring for the pneumatic valve engine.

Yep says it right in the article. He nor HRC have nothing to lose. Why not put Nicky into full blown development mode.

Hell, even a blind hog will turn up and acorn ever now and then.

Remember Biaggi...all he kept saying is that if he had the Repsol ride then he would win the title and beat Rossi consistently....so Biaggi got what he wished for and just went backwards then went out the back door of GPs....Nicky is on the 'Biaggi Program'...

But Nicky DID win a title on a Repsol.

Where the .... has Nicky said that. You can't even mix up what Nicky said to sound anything remotely like that. Migs, man, you are out in la la land.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (MigsAngel @ Jun 19 2008, 11:36 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>Remember
Migs, your point about "be careful what you wish for" is a good point, it has always been a cautionary tail. But it doesn't apply here man. You are always on about apples & oranges.

I think at this point all Nicky is "wishing" for is to be back in the top 5 and perhaps some podiums. Last year about this time (post Donington) he had a nice comeback with a 3rd Assen, 3rd Germania, DNF in Laguna (nuff said on this one), 3rd in Brno. He is obviously coming up on some tracks that he has done well at, so anything (new engine) to get his hope up and spirits high is what he is looking.

Flat out stating or inferring that he wants the pneumy engine at this juncture to win the championship is just plain .........

Nicky should move up this weekend which is good. I was worried his defence of the number 8 plate was in jeopardy

Hayden's got nothing to lose, whereas Pedrosa is in the title chase, so by giving Hayden the new engine they can do race testing with it and ensure it is up to standard before Pedrosa gets it.

No offence but I guess it takes a bit more to break a sweat over Haydens positions these days. I would be happy if he did well, but was that time set at the end of a race simulation or with fresh tires and empty tank? If it was after a 20 lap race simulation then it's good, otherwise it says very little.

Agreed and he may have thrown on a qualy too. Hayden can always pull a fast lap out of his ... when he wants too. I just don't get why that can't translate out on the track during raceday. GAS IT UP MAN!!!
