Im happy for Shinya, hope he can do good things on the stones..

Well that is a MUCH smarter move than his previous decision! Back to Bridgestones and 3 or 4 in the Honda pecking order!

Good move Shinya!

But in saying that, is Team Gresini on a downhill slide?! Elias and Melandri this year ... De Angelis and Nakano next year! Time will tell I suppose!

Gresini is considerably weaker in 2008 rider wise than they were this year IMHO.

yea no chance of getting any of the factory parts earley now.. not like the Gibernau days.

sorry but nokango could'nt win a race if u gave him a head start! he's the token japanese rider for 08!

he showed lots of potential with kawasaki, then i realised hes like 30 but looks like a kid.

hes not gonna improve.

Now there's an excellent example of the head organizations pushing others depending on them. Honda are dictating Gresini to take Nakano on. Let's see how many that start biling over this one.

Brilliant reasoning, there Babelfish. Here's something I was just thinking: my cat has four legs, my dog has four legs; therefore my dog is cat. I can see the flaw in your logic--can you see the flaw in mine?

As for Nakano signing with Gresini, I have mixed feelings about it. He doesn't really deserve the spot, and it's sad to see him join the ranks of the passport riders. [Previously, although his nationality had given him opportunities in Grand Prix racing, at least he'd proven worthy of them.] And before I get labelled a Nakano-hater, I should point out that he's a favourite rider of mine, so I'm happy that he'll be around next year.

I'm a big fan of Shinya, but this season has been a joke. I don't know if it's him or if it's the bike, but it hasn't been good to say the least.

I'd say if he can't shine on a Bstone equipped Honda, he ain't gonna shine. As much as I love the guy and love having him in GPs, I think he'll have to do something pretty spectacular to avoid giving up his seat to one of the younger upcoming Japanese riders in '09.

I still have faith in him though. I think he can really give it a go next season.

I think JIR are finally sick and tired of average lazy japanese blokes!

At least Dovi will give it a good go even if he doesn't have the best bike i can see him getting top 10 consistantly.

I agree frosty, I think Fausto had to sign him. I do like Shinya though, one of those guys that I'd really cheer for if he won one.

well im not going to judge him on this years performance alone mate. he impressed me last year and he is not the only one who didn't perform on the 800 this year.
next year theres no excuses for anyone, they have had a year to learn the new 800 so its show time.

u know i really don't dislike nakano but he's been ridin around in the big class for 7 seasons now & has what.... 4 or 5 podiums? if he's as talented as all that he should been have showin alot better imo. maybe he'll surprise me... i don't know.
