MotoGP: Aragón RACE

I can understand why he did it. Although I'd have much rather seen the two of them scrap the whole way through, I think J-Lo knew that if he couldn't make his scalded cat start stick, he couldn't beat MM on raw pace and knew it would only be a matter of time before he passed. So he let him by in the hope that he could watch him run for a few laps looking for weak spots and maybe pounce on the last lap.

If it had worked, people would be praising him for playing it smart. As it didn't, it looks like he just gave up.

Either way, I don't want to see that happen again. If I must watch a Marquez win, I want to see an epic battle beforehand, not for it to be given to him on a silver platter.

Yeah I wasn't thinking Jorge was giving up or anything. I'm just interested in hearing his explanation for it. I imagine it will be exactly what you just wrote here. And agree, I'd like to see a scrap.

Wow, that was a short lived boycott of the forum. U and Pov got more in common than I thought. What u do, grow some balls over the weekend? The kid is talented man, what u and others don't want to admit is that he's been treated favorably. He hasnt been called to account the same as others. Btw friend, others not associated with this forum and fellow competitors have also held this opinion. Not sure ur prepared to argue hes not on tbe top machine. U can admit this (as its reality) and still be a fan u know.

Been on ship for a few days, don't flatter yourself. Anyway instead of slinging the .... to distract as usual, make your mind up, I will repeat  "That's funny, you spent all last year calling him a cheat. And most of this year saying he is only fast because he is on the vastly superior Honda and getting preferential treatment from the league. Make your mind up." but now you are saying his talent has never been in doubt, reply to that instead of taking it to another place. you always do this Jum, I have asked you many times, if its such a fix and so biased why do you bother watching.

Not true, that is an emotional statement. He has 6 wins this year, are you saying he took someone out to win them all. He may be the best passer in the series, which makes him an outstanding racer. But then again, your statement is partially accurate. His winning is detrimental to others title chances.

No just 33 percent of them ;)

I only started watching properly in 08/09 and the fact he was beating Rossi drew me to him, (never liked Rossi as as person hes a ....... clown) so was the perfect match.

Marc fans are just Rossi' old fans both = glory supporters.

Both made out to be fun loving nice guys when they are both slimy arrogant bellends.

I don't know who ill support when Jorge retires, I wouldn't just jump on a rider because they have the best bike, id rather stop watching.

Fcuking well said.

Prime examplemet a couple in Valencia 2011 both Rossi fans, shiverstone 2012 both rossi fans, shiverstone 2013 both head to toe in orange!

Fcuking glory fans the lot of em!

Cuts!

Deal Man he was a cheat!

Using other competitors as burms is not in the rules you know!

And the main argument on here has been more about his favoritsm when it comes to punishment.

Or lack of it.

Lets face it each country is going to cover their own ie: Dorna and MM!

Are you telling me if anyone from any other country had done half the .... he has done they wouldn't have been punished!

Bollocks!

That much we can agree on, but i dont think Marquez fans are Rossi rejects, more like mourning Stoner fans.

With that statement, you should have been a Stoner fan. He was beating Rossi all while riding an inferior bike. The bike Jorge was riding in 08-09 was the best bike in the series

That might be the case.  There are some, myself included, that have been watching MM from his CEV days.  I don't personally know MM, but have spoken with his dad and they seemed like very down to earth people.  They are from a town close to were I lived.  MM has the same happy speed loving attitude he did 10 years ago.  With success come detractors.

I hope the best for Redding, and I hope he doesn't have the same ........ detractors MM has.  He is on the way to GP and feel he deserves it, but if he doesn't win Moto2, will it be for his passport.....

This is the thing people don't get, I agree there is favouritism, I agree Dorna looks after its own, I agree with most of it, but we have the same old .... pushed down our throats on most days, the truth is the racing is very good this year and MM is very quick regardless and he has made the series worth watching, instead of Jum constantly throwing his conspiracy  .... at us at every turn why don't we talk about racing, and as you are defending your buddy here, as anyone would, take a look, jum called him a cheat all last year and now he is saying his talent has never been in question, that my friend is hypocrisy, something jum throws at moto gp all the time, he can't have it both ways,  but I will wait for his usual very well written  page long statement telling us we are lacking in intelligence if we don't see it his way, if he put that much effort into the racing it would be worth reading and debating.

Not the cables fault, Honda's fault. The cable didnt place itself in a position where the slightest of contact caused it to break. Thats a live and learn moment.

It's somewhat surprising that the ECU doesn't enter some sort of 'safe mode' when it senses the failure of a critical sensor or system.  I suppose the software guys are far more worried about squeezing the last 0.04% of performance from the system, and have no time to write fault-tolerant code.

Such is prototype racing.  Just be glad they're not writing code for Boeing or Airbus.  ;)

And I would call you a true supporter.

I agree with success comes the band waggon wanting to come for the ride.

FWIW I only support my countrymen or chosen countrymen to be precise.

With the exception of Hopper, was lucky enough to sit for a meal with him and chat, afterwards all I could think was what a nice guy, nuff said ;)

Very true, he is a cracking guy, met him a few times via Paul.

To be fair, no one knew it was the inferior bike then. The prevailing belief was that the Duc was some kind of engineering marvel, and it made Stoner look better than he actually was. Ridiculous in hindsight, considering the bike is a turd on wheels and Stoner is a far better rider than anyone realized.

I think you're too hard on the kid. Take him out of MotoGP this year and it's race after race of JL and DP taking turns running away with wins or politely asking each other if it's ok to pass. Much more exciting with him around. Next year however we need Stoner back on a Honda otherwise we will be going into a Doohan age....

A Boeing (save 787) would be just fine absent electronics.  The Airbus wouldn't leave the gate without it's full compliment.  There are things I like about the Bus (they're more comfortable up front and in the back) , but it's an inferior product in virtually every other metric.

Anyway, back to racing.  Your point is valid.  Some kind of failsafe would be easy to deploy I suspect.  Interesting that there's nothing like that already.  Additionally, I wonder if the rider would have been notified via the dash of a problem with the elec's?

Yes talented people can and do cheat, Ricky Johnson one of the greatest motocross riders ever, publicly stated "if you aint cheatin you aint winning"  but there is no proof MM did cheat, his answers from his team that he opened the throttle much earlier than the rest have been born out in motogp, as him getting under Jorge with his front wheel on the dirt and his back wheel spinning on the rumble strips  have proved, just because he is fast does not mean he has cheated.

Well I cant argue with you there. Its definitely Hondas fault.

All things protruding from inside the swingarm , 2 feet from the back of the tire and 12 inches from the ground are highly susceptible to malfunction caused by over exuberant smiling children and should be abolished. Furthermore all protrusions should be removed. Especially those round black rubbery spinning things and the round metal discs that stop them. As seen by todays incident they are situated in the eminent ones danger zone. Also all foot pegs, shift levers, handlebars ego inflated heads, and pinkie fingers are inherent dangers. ( finally Roger Lee Hayden is qualified to be a gp rider )

All factory bikes must be changed to look like flying saucers, (let me quote Kropotkin "round and smooth like Marquezs ...")

Dornas plot all along so the mark feels right at home
