keep telling yourself that.

also. you put me on the pedestal.

but here's an answer. ya sure rossi can be a cut throat jerk sometimes i'm sure. i imagine we all can.
i'm sure some spanish tabloids would back up that statement.
and ya, the claudia schiffer blow up doll could be considered less the tasteful to downright mean. but he and biaggi hated each other.
maybe he planned it with the fan club or maybe it was a spur of the moment thing. i don't know.
Lorenzo- he has no problem belittling ANY other rider who dares ride behind him. not a spur of the moment thing. systematic humiliation. planned and executed for years now on a weekly basis.

You dont know?. Like there just happened to be a blow up doll laying around the paddock, Rossi saw it and thought for a second, damn guys, i have an idea.

I'm no fan of Lorenzo, but how has he systematically belittled other riders for years?

Ever been to a race in Italy? It's not like here in the states. It's a zoo. People rush the track post race.
I don't think it was done in the paddock area. But on the track itself.
But okay. Maybe it was way pre planned.

I have previously made the point that Galbusera and Rossi are immediately on it from the moment they arrive at the circuit. Last weekend they had the hammer down right from the first session - nothing left to chance to avoid a repeat of last seasons debacle.

So in order to demonstrate this I decided to compile the following chart derived from empirical data collated from a time and motion study within each garage for the period mid season through to winter testing. Each team is colour coded accordingly for ease of interpretation and in the interest of clarity. The yellow pertains to Rossi.

The data clearly demonstrates whatever I want it to and due to the ....... farrago figures and lines, and the miniscule size you have absolutely no idea what it represents and quite frankly neither do I. But that does mean that I can selectively shoehorn it into any dubious hypothesis framed around the conclusions that I have already drawn from last season and match it to my own subjective confirmation bias.

Genius.

You're gonna have to read the thread bud. Can't go
Over it all again.
I am interested to hear if the sign has been displayed to riders other than Barbera.

My impression was that it was mainly displayed to Barbera, and if displayed to him systemically so displayed because he seeks tows systemically. My impression was that a number of riders objected to him seeking tows rather than just Jorge. He is also not unknown for torpedoing other riders if allowed or able to reach torpedo range, as Valentino can testify.

okay. we won't see eye to eye on this one.

when i first met Jumkie in person a long while back we chatted how we all talk .... to each other and how that's all forum trash talk.
so, hopefully stuff didn't get too personal.

but calling me a politician? THAT'S OVER THE LINE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

just joking.

i actually respect most of your takes. truce?

hope we're all good. looking forward to the next one.

That's fair enough Steve, yes it does get a little heated at times so sure :)

Anyway, going back to the point which I'm grateful you finally addressed, yes we will probably never agree because I support Lorenzo and you support Rossi. It's human nature to construe things, and personally I don't see Lorenzo's tricycle as a signal to demean every other rider, but you do and of course you are allowed to.

I will still assert though, that most of Rossi's celebrations were pre planned. As was Lorenzo's at Valencia last year.

Lorenzo had his friends sitting in a mini van watching the race on an iPad, it was on his film. I don't see anything wrong or demeaning with that, his celebration certainly didn't poke fun at anyone.
Had Rossi won, you can bet his fan club were primed and ready to go. Would they have been so low key? Who knows...
Re- the tricycle thing, I don't think it's demeaning or intention is to insult, purely a signal that JL can see at speed to let him know he's being tailed.
He's been recognised for a few years as the man to get a fast time and been followed so much to his detriment that he had to do something. Things are that tight in MotoGP these days.

I think Mick Doohan was a bit less subtle in expressing his disdain for the tow. All this pursed lipped, judgmental frowning about JL's little tricycle hint is hard to get interested in.

Riders trying to get a tow seems to be part of the game but I recall screaming at the TV last season every time Kent was out on the track in moto3 qualifying. Some riders would appear to have the speed but still waste qualifying trying to get a tow. Not noticed if Kent is up to his usual tricks this season or not. As for victory celebrations I'm still trying to work out if JL meant to jump in the pond at Jerez 2010 or if he slipped!
I really hope he jumped cause that was the best victory dance ever!!

He jumped but the dozy .... forgot his leathers would get so heavy when full of water. He should've inflated his airbag...

Kent was the fastest guy out there on his own! He was the one usually annoyed at others trying to follow him for a tow.

Exactly. In the end I felt it was managed poorly by Stefan Kiefer and the problem had got so acute that it was clearly causing Danny great anxiety and affecting his performance while the team made a serious of poor reactionary decisions. Every time he rode out of his garage half the field would hover and flutter around him like moths around a light bulb. Fenati in particular was all over him like a rash.

Yep, Vazquez refused to help Danny and Ono almost had him off at Valencia!
Unbelievable...

I was there and it was unbelievable how Ohno did that! Although Danny should have had the title stitched up long before, but he got the jitters in much the same way as VR did .
