Hello Everybody

Finally the 2012 season is over, Lorenzo is the champion and Dani Pedrosa this time is a sexy brides maid with one victory more than the champion (Just Kidding!!!!
<
).

I gathered all the races and the result of these two guys from Qatar to Valencia and did some adjustments to it:

1) The 6 Orange Rows are 3 matches of Dani in 1st place and Jorge in 2nd and 3 matches with Jorge in 1st and Dani in 2nd place

2) The 4 Red Rows are the DNF's of the two spaniards.

3) I thought the first 8 rounds was Yamaha's Season (Because of Honda's chatter issue) and the second half of the season was Honda's season (after the new bike HRC gave to Pedrosa and Stoner in Laguna Seca)

My point of view: After Stoners retirement story and the injury after that the 2012 season was going to be a disaster, But these guys kept it alive on the second half of the season.

Final Word: In my opinion the 18 points difference between the spaniards are from 3 effective parts in the season:

1) Jorge's Victory in Silverstone and Dani's third place: 4 points

2) Jorge's second place and Dani's third place in Laguna Seca: 4 points

3) Jorge's Victory and Dani's fourth place in Le Mans: 10 Points

My Questions:

1) What is your opinion about the spaniards performance throughout the season?

2) What is your opinion about Yamaha and Honda's performance throughout the season?

And finally and the most important question:

Stoner's injury had more effect on Yamaha and Jorge Lorenzo or Honda and Dani Pedrosa??

Best Regards

we can clearly see how dani won the mundialito after honda sorted the chatter out

yepp, once they got the chatter sorted he was doing great. Makes you wonder....

done and dusted, this brings a lot of motivation and momentum into 2013 tho. Honda are gonna be tough to beat i think.

haha i was just joking, i'd be the last person to devalue lorenzos championship. he brought home a lot of 1st and 2nd place finishes when dani was happy in 3rd.

but i agree, pedrosa looks stronger than ever and you don't ever write honda off. could be a good year, i see 3,maybe 4 guys as serious title contenders and 5 guys capable of winning on any given day

I like to see some Pedrosa and Rossi battle like Brno in 2006 and also some Lorenzo and Rossi battle like Catalunya 2009. I agree with you about Lorenzo, He is not my favorite but his smooth style and his focus and mental stability makes him a hard rider to beat, He deserves the 2012 title completely. after the valencia test Rossi found his old babe with some more weight and power, It seems the doctor still knows how to play with his darling. Pedrosa said Honda has more weight due to the 2013 regulations and according to the midget the increase in weight helps him with the bike's stability, I have the feeling with the weight increase the chatter issue will be sorted out more and with Pedrosa's style (early picking up) he is going out of the corner more stable and fast, But the Bridgestones stabilty under Honda and Pedrosa's hard brakings plus the increased weight are still a question in my head.

And finally and the most important question:

Stoner's injury had more effect on Yamaha and Jorge Lorenzo or Honda and Dani Pedrosa??

Pedrosa.

The only race Pedrosa beat Stoner hands-down was Qatar, Stoner's first on the RC. The other races that Pedrosa was ahead of Stoner were where, early in the season, Stoner was having issues with tyres/chatter or after his injury. In those cases, Pedrosa's obvious familiarity with the RC came to the fore.

I believe if Stoner had stayed healthy, it would have been a Stoner/Lorenzo title chase, Pedrosa would have been chasing his team-mate. It's just a pity that just as Honda were exorcising their gremlins, Stoner planted it and blew the second half of the season.

I don't think he could have sustained the pain-killing injections he got at PI for 5 or so races...

Thanks for the reply. just like you this was the first answer that hit my mind when i asked the question to myself. but during the season there were some points that made it difficult for me to confirm my final answer:

1) I think the chatter issue in the first half of the season was more difficult for stoner because of his sexy tyre killing riding style.the problem with pedrosa was the less bhp difference of the new yamaha and the honda

2) If I remember right, when HRC gave the repsol boys the new bike Stoner chose to race with the old chassis with the wider front nostrils while pedrosa changed the whole bike.In laguna race if pedrosa was not having that huge slide after the cork screw he could have finished behind stoner. because he had the brutal engine he wanted to beat jorge.

3) In indianapolise stoner was injured by a high side accident that occured because of the sllipery surface he hated. Just like laguna he was riding with the brutal new engine and the unstable old chassis.

my final word: in my opinion if stoner chose to ride with the new bike it could have been a 1-2 Repsol boys in the 2nd half of the season. because the sachsenring race showed that if the repsol boys had the chance to push each other more to the limit they could have pulled away lorenzo from the title in the 2nd half of the season with the new bike and the new chassis.

Agreed.

I am not unused to talking out of my ..., in case that wasn't bleeding obvious

, It didn't seem that you were talking out of your butt hole... (excuse my french, no offence)... But i'm just asking if we could look at the 2012 season from another point of view, I might be wrong also,
