MOTEGI GP 2011: RACE

And.... what would that mistake be???

eeerm, getting so out of shape he ended in the gravel

Kesh, Chops, .... Casey, new subject: How long will Spies keep his ride causing accidents and riding around in the gravel?

We have a F350 diesel dually at work that i have been using to deliver boats for the last 5 years. Never once had an issue with the truck when hitting bridge expansion joints or the normal small pot holes. That was until last Friday. I ran over a small pot hole running 70 mph. These trucks have stiff suspensions and you always get a good jolt, but this time, the truck went into what can only be described as a 4 wheel tank slapper. It started shaking in the front and you could feel it spreading through out the truck, till it was shaking and hopping so bad i thought it was going to rip the steering wheel out of my hands. It just kept building and buikding. It kept this up until i got it down to below about 30 mph. I pulled over expecting to find a shredded tire, snapped suspension part, something. Nothing seemd out of place. I drove it on back to the shop with no more problem. Google searched F350 death shake and sure enough, it had happened to numerous people for no rhyme or reason. . The point im making is, did i make a mistake? No, i had driven down that interstate hundreds of times with zero problems, but for whatever reason, this time was different. Doesnt mean anyone made a mistake.

I meant to hit those bumps that had been causing me problems all weekend. haha

It seems like that can be interpreted in anyway, and the way I understood it was that pretty much everyone would have been hitting that bump all weekend as well. And that the bump couldn't really be avoided. Most tracks seem to have bumps etc that the riders have to deal with, call it circuit idiosyncrasy's if you will.

Seems as though he went over the same place as he did the laps before but for some reason that time he got a tank slapper, the only people that really know exactly why it happened is Stoner and his crew. No doubt they would have looked at the telemetry straight away to figure it out.

I think it was unfortunate but he still made the best out of the situation.

Certainly was interesting to see Valentino Crashi get over excited at the start again.

Cheers

Ok, I retract, Casey didn't make a mistake. The pavement made the mistake. Jesus people, have a laugh.

Seems that Rossi made a mistake when he changed his riding position this week in a bid to solve some of the vague front-end problems he’s experienced with the Ducati so far this season.....apparently he didnt realise you actually need to to sit on top of the bike as opposed to underneath it

Nah I'm keen for a laugh, just don't know what to take seriously here sometimes lol.

Was more just discussing it really...............all good though.

Did anyone see ONE HD's coverage?

They did an interview with Herve Poncharal? HE said that he had offers for a ride with both Bautista and Dovi and wanted a response by the end of the weekend.

Cheers

Yea I watched that Gecko, will be interesting if they signed. Apparently they have started testing a 1000, but may still start 2012 with the 800.

One HD also said that Suzuki have been rather secretly testing a 1000cc bike, they have to get something right sooner or later, their last win was in a French monsoon with renowned Australian powerboat racer Chris Vermeulen at the helm.

Bautista is likely to show the loyalty and stay put.

On a side note, I have read all the guff about Casey hitting a bump and going off track (from 1st) , rejoining in 7th and making it to 3rd. Wow. You poor sad people. you actually wrote about this, I want that 5 minutes of my life back, I actually read it. I feel so underwhelmed and what's the opposite of privileged to have even lent .00001% of my mental faculties and about 1/280th of my day to this.

Its all hondas fault stoner nearly crashed. The anti wheelie anti headshake automatic brake electronic program ...... up forcing Casey to actully have to ride.

What bump in the track caused Hayden to run into the gravel? Or was it the bridgestones again?

you can be your normal casey appolgist but the fact remains he new they were there yet still got into trouble hitting them. So the bbc reporter was correct in saying he made a mistake , somthing casey would not admit. No other ...... seemed to get into trouble with them so therefor they must have been avoidable.

Watching it live I thought he had gone in too hot much like a certain other rider at laguna seca 2008, and that perhaps his tyres were still a little cold, but hitting a bump at just the right angle to cause a problem, and in particular his brakes disengaging, seems a reasonable explanation and not something that would happen every lap. As jumkie says karma, japan 1 stoner 0. Just out of interest what mistake did you think he made ?

As I have said I think dani may have won anyway, and 16 points is considerably better than none, although losing the 16 points wouldn't have been the near death of championship thing not saving it from his near lose in the first corner the race after jerez would have been. You often need some luck to win a championship, although I am not sure too many others would have kept the bike upright (other than valentino who has form for this sort of thing

).

Truckload of crap!

none of that happened.

No grass for Lorenzo

He was at least a metre away from Spies when he went down under Spies ( no wonder Spies is miffed )

Rossi just went in too hot again and tried to steer across the back of Lorenzo

Rossi has lost it
<
You'd think he'd own up like a man at least.

Wrong Barry

Lorenzo mentioned it in the post race interview I saw and said that VR was on the inside and was pushed slightly wide forcing him (JL) onto the grass.

Thats what we do around here buddy. We aren't solving world hunger and cancer my friend. Sit back and enjoy the ride (just avoid the bumps).
