Stop stirring the shitpot!
What Stoner meant is that when passing someone, you have to let the other guy know you are there. Otherwise he's liable to come all the way down to the edge of the track, leaving you nowhere to go and causing a crash.
For perhaps the fist time I'm going to call BS on a Stoner press statement.
Watching the replay, I think Stoner's timing was was on the ragged edge of 'safe.' We've all seen late passes like this end in the gravel. Nicky wasn't freaking "leaning on" anyone, he was just taking a normal entry line. 27 put his front wheel in a place Nicky could see it at the last possible moment before Hayden reached the apex of the corner. If Stoner had arrived half a second later, there would have been no room left and h'e have had his front wheel chopped off, most likely causing an instant replay of the Simo/Peddles encounter earlier this year. Given that Stoner is riding for the title, it seems odd that he'd make such a dodgy pass.
IMO, Casey should have offered Haystack a mild apology, "Sorry mate, I didn't get that one quite right" instead of a press release accusing him of 'leaning' on people.
