Excellent point about Rossi not being much of a crasher, Its an amazing feat to have so little crashes in such a long career.

In chops point about fast riders crashing often until they find they're feet, lorenzo can be added to that list. Back in 08 and 09 he had quite a few nasty spills but as of 2010 he has been a lot better about not binning it.

Yes, how do you know your limit if you have never stepped over it.
 
Well i know Arrab personally and im sure he has done things wrong in his life. Im also sure he has never mugged an old granny.



Arrab has been in a few muggings (on the receiving end) that i can personally recall. Once, a bunch of night creepy crawlers mugged him and later awoke to find a bunch if bug bites. Another time a taxi car door mugged him and actually drew blood. And one time, a bunch of dead sea bottom dwelling crustaceans mugged him so bad that they beat the .... out of him. Literally.

ah yes! Exactly the point i was trying to make.
 
Why was this worth mentioning? Nothing to do with the topic whatsoever. This has been discussed before and again you show yourself up to be the high and mighty arbitrator of people's lives. Ever known anyone with an addiction? Never done anything wrong yourself Arab?

I will never tire of discussing this because it's always you who rears up to defend the ....... purely on the grounds that he could race a motorcycle - once. No, I concede, you're right 'Son' - it has nothing to do with the OP - just an aside. Yes, It doesn't belong in this topic - I apologise - and in view of this, for you I have started a new thread dedicated solely to the issue.
 
He only had 2 in the racers in 2001. 5 in 2002 .3 in 2003. 3 in 2004. 4 in 2005. 1 in 2006. 4 in 2007.



Are we only including race crashes? I'm not sure on which year it was, or if my figure was correct but I'm damn sure he had an average considerably better than 1 crash per weekend.

Rossi had his fair share of crashes in the early days, but since his 500cc title he has made remarkably few mistakes

I just quoted race crashes (DNF) tom. couldn't find free practice or quali crashes mate.

Rossi went the usual crash the first season, then the more unusual win the second, for his 125, 250 and 500 titles.



I think since then his modus operandi has been to meticulously work to increase the limits of his bikes then ride to those limits, beyond the reach of mortal men though those limits may have been for other riders. Over most of his 990 career he would even make sure his tyres were warmed up and not push till later in a race. Hard to criticise his approach, it was notably successful.



This is another reason he was always likely to have problems with the ducati, even apart from its engine characteristics, handling +/- chassis problems etc. You had to take the 800 thing very close to its limit or over it to get it to operate in the first place.

Hitler merely shut the throttle prior to a corner and by body position alone with no downshift of initiation from the rear brake sublimely slid into the turn - it's all there in Mein Kampf. Unbeknown to many he was also spirited off out of Berlin by the SS to start a new life in the suburbs of Sydney where his son is rumoured to be incarcerated in a home for the mentally disturbed. He is however permitted regular internet access.

Speedway bikes don't back in you clueless buffoon - two years and you still can't differentiate. Don't fool yourself you prick - like me, you've never been remotely near a speedway bike - i wouldn't trust you to set up or steer a sit on lawnmower. Craig Jones - as mentioned in the Gobert thread was supremely talented. Craig used to back in a super sport bike/super bike using a combination of engine braking and rear brake to compliment for whatever negligible slipper clutch setting he'd dialled in.

What I said was actually good natured Arab, I'm currently having a hankering for a bit of time back on a track, speedway always being somewhat of an art to me and a real good base for the feeling of control of a loose bike. A day of fun on an old slider or speedway bike would do me, and you I suspect, the world of good ....... and an education in your case

speedway bikes don't have brakes either. berry just cant get his head around backing in (slowing) and powersliding (accelerating).
